I don't care what they have to spend. If they believe Cousins is a franchise guy, go try to get him. If you don't think he is, don't even bother. Draft a 1st rounder high and bring in a vet to play while he develops.
I personally think Cousins is a good QB and I would not be unhappy if they brought him in, regardless of price.

I'll just trust the process ...

Vic said McCoy won’t be OC.
He never mentioned an offer was made.
That's what I thought. I keep seeing people posting that McCoy turned us down, but didn't see any evidence of that. It could easily be McDermott that chose not to offer him a job.
-
So did McCoy turn us down or did McDermott not want McCoy?

I felt throughout the season that every positive play was followed up with a loss of 3 to 5 yards. I couldn't remember a team I had ever seen with so many negative plays.
Every drive seemed to have a series like this:
15 yard pass or run for a first down. Run for -3 yards. Incomplete pass on 2nd down. Incomplete pass, sack, or screen to Tolbert for no gain on 3rd and 13.

Still don't have a good QB, and also our OC was just fired for not performing well. The team lacks a lot of talent at many positions.
But yes, I am confident in McDermott and Beane. I like them. Still have a LOT to prove, though.

I'd rather watch our team play another week in the playoffs....Marrone is
Any coach or front office guy that Marrone has worked with this year or in the past belongs on the tree...can't pick and choose which branches are real...they all grow from his roots.
Clearly you don't know how a coaching tree works.

Oh, cool. So McD and Beane can keep up with their "hiring practices." Good to know.
What exactly does this mean?

I like the Chiefs. A lot of people love the Steelers, but I am not fond of yellow, so I don't love them.
The Raiders look good. I actually think the Pats current and throwback red uniforms are both solid.
I like the Broncos orange jerseys. I actually like the new Dolphins jerseys too.
I hate the Jags uniforms, especially their horribly ugly helmets. Browns are terrible too.

Oh yeah, forgot about Seattle. I hate their uniforms. Redskins also suck.

I like that his turnovers are low, his completion percentage is high, and his yards per attempt are good.
I am always wary of college QB's who have high turnovers. If you can't keep control of the ball in college, how can you in the NFL?
-
Cousins. I don't feel like defending it.

By the time he actually threw the ball, the receivers were better covered.
This. Not to mention the actual number of attempts is very low for Tyrod. Also, he doesn't throw to WR's much. He throws to big TE's who don't get a lot of separation.
-
Oh yeah, I can already tell after 1 meaningless game that he is the GOAT. Move over Tom Brady and Joe Montana!

So hard to be a receiver on this team. You beat your man over and over and never get a ball thrown to you.
It's been a fun couple of years with Taylor and I wish him the best, but I sure hope we upgrade the position this off season.

Just an absolutely brutal schedule for a team that's still going to be in transition/rebuilding next season.
Sure some games might not be as difficult as they look now on paper but does anybody really see more than 6 wins against this schedule, especially given the road slate?
Even most of the non division home games look to be guaranteed losses especially against St Doug and the Jags, Chargers and Titans.
You are a crazy person. Why on Earth would you be afraid of the Jags, Chargers, and Titans? Those are very flawed teams. This schedule is about as easy as it gets in the NFL.
-
Those thinking this is a really hard schedule are crazy. Those teams are beatable, except the Pats, but we face them twice every year!
Vikings and Packers will be tough too. Every other game is winnable.
-
He's ok. He shouldn't be a starter, though. He's the type of guy you want to rotate through.
If he is back, that's fine. If he's gone, that's fine too, in my book.
We definitely need to focus on interior defensive line and linebacker. If we can sign Cousins that will free up a lot of draft capital to focus on these and other positions.

Im sure you know much more about him than any of us, but what I see is a pocket collapsing and every receiver blanketed except 1 in the flat that has pick 6 written all over it. Maybe find some other film?
I disagree. The crossing route was definitely coming open. Smith did have pressure from the end, so he was right to move up in the pocket, but he should have stepped up and thrown it instead of scramble.

People expected to hear something interesting? That's not how these guys operate. They go about their process and continue to grind.
And I am happy about that. I don't want bold predictions or empty words from them. I want them to work hard and get the job done, and no amount of entertaining the media helps that. Only the results on the field matter.

Roman's
I'm thinking Mike McCoy could come up with one like he did for Tebow. Think outside of the box
We were one of the least effective passing offenses in the league under Roman. Because of Tyrod. Great run scheme for McCoy though.
Tyrod will never be successful in this league. Defenses know that all you have to do is keep him in the pocket and he can't function. Regardless of scheme.

I get what you are saying - every excuse under the sun for Tyrod. But you're missing the point that Dennison's system was not a fit for Tyrod (which should have been seen in camp), yet it was stubbornly forced on him anyway. The results were putrid.
Tell me, what scheme is out there for Tyrod?

He's not as good as this fan base thinks he is.
On a good team he's more like a 2.
I love his size.
According to who? Just you?

I don't care who is in charge. Just get it done.

OK. Cool When you exagerate stuff like that,it makes you sound like crusader. Talk about misconceptions
Those guys with longer averages ARen't too bad either!
Those are averages, you know. Tyrod takes longer than 3 seconds very often. The times where he is pressured immediately and has no chance brings the averages down, as it would for a lot of QB's.
After 3 years of him, the book is written on Tyrod Taylor. He is a gifted runner who can hurt teams with his feet. He has a good enough arm to make passes if EVERYTHING goes right, but he is ultra conservative and unwilling to take risks even in the most desperate of circumstances. He holds onto the ball far too long and cannot function in a timing offense. He does not lead receivers or throw them open.
Just not good enough. Great teammate and a good bridge QB, but any team who has him would be looking for something better.
