Gameday Thread 2nd Half Bills@ Falcons
SaviorPeterman replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really needed to come away with the TD there but up by 7 against a QB whose looking shaky with his top 2 guys out isn't the worst thing in the world. If the Bills do blow this game though it will be because they only got 3 there. I honestly did not think they'd have much of a chance anyway let alone up by 7 in the fourth quarter. -
Sucks that Lawson got hurt in practice and can't play this week, if the Falcons have a big day running the ball him not playing will probably be why. Also interesting they are sitting Washington, guessing they must be factoring in other guys being a better matchup against the falcons oline and/or more effective rushing the passer or maybe it's punishment for his stupid penalty last week.

Alexander will be 35 next year but no reason to believe he can't play at a high level for at least one more season and then perhaps be moved into a more of a situational pass rusher role later on like many other similar players who played into their late 30's. But then again he certainly don't have the mileage on his body that most 34 year old LB's do in this league since he's been mostly a backup and ST player up until last year.

Revised season win loss total
SaviorPeterman replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't put much stock into what is happening to other teams we play right now just like it's still too early to know whether the Bills are going to have a chance at the playoffs or be a 6-10 type of team. Both the Raiders and Bucs are going to be very tough games to win at home despite how they looked on the road yesterday. Still don't see us beating the Pats other than playing one game close like we always do. Also there are always games every playoff type contender loses even when they are expected to win. (i.e. don't be surprised if we blow a games in CIncy and/or NY Jets). -
Let's be serious, we are not even a quarter of the way through the season yet. But at least our one loss was non conference and even if we lose in Atlanta that's another non conference loss. Key is taking care of business in division and AFC, and one thing the Bronco win was huge for is tiebreakers because they will also no doubt be in the wild card chase all year if they don't win the AFC West. Panthers were dominated at home by the Saints and their defense didn't look good in the process. So yes, when it's all said and done that loss could haunt the Bills if the Panthers don't end up being very good this year.

I really think Dareus is going to have to be lights out when he returns if there is any slim chance he's back with this team in 2018. He has a golden opportunity to earn his salary next week on the road against a SB team.
-
Not surprised at all by this line, Falcons are an elite team and I think the bills probably need at least 24 points at a bare minimum to have a chance. And while I don't think the Falcons defense is as good as what we've seen the last few weeks, this will by far be the best offense we've faced all season and they will get theirs at home. Will be interested in studying how McD's Panthers defense fared against the Falcons why he was there and certainly his familiarity with them will be useful but not a real advantage. Can the Bills shock the world next week? Probably not but another strong showing and being in the game until the end might go a long way in terms of any real playoff talk.

Does it feel different NOW?
SaviorPeterman replied to MarlinTheMagician's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Atlanta has barely won 2 road games, but they did win and Detroit seems like a good team in their own right. But at home they dominated the Packers and have been very dominant there in recent years with Matt Ryan. Not sure the bills get blown out this week but that type of game is coming and will be interesting to see how this team responds after their first ugly loss of the season, whether next week or not. -
So far this trade seems to have been win/win for both teams. But remember Gaines is an UDFA after this season and he'll likely want to get paid big money if this continues so do it will be a difficult decision for this front office to make assuming we have the money for him to begin with.

Take nothing away from today but this team is 2-1 and probably will be 2-2 after next weeks game in Atlanta. He's the magic number for me, can this team be 6-4 or better after 10 games? Because as crazy as it sounds the Bills have never been 6-4 or better since the first year the drought began in 2000 when they finished 8-8. Until then nothing changes really. -
GDT: HOUSTON AT NE: 2:00 LEFT IN GAME
SaviorPeterman replied to Fadingpain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At some point Brady and the Pats luck will run out but not today apparently, crazy how they came back to win a game that Houston should have won. -
I'm Surprised by Zay Jones' Slow Start
SaviorPeterman replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most rookie WR's struggle and struggle a lot even high 1st round picks. At some point he'll likely get going but this entire passing game is still a work in progress and likely will be most of the season. -
It was a good win but still areas of concern: - McD's game management - McCoy/run game virtually nonexistent again - Very questionable and conservative offensive play calling at times. - Tons of penalties today and very boneheaded plays reminscient of this team under rex ryan Will be interesting to see what this team does next week but at some point they need to have a big win on the road to truly be taken serious even though they are sure to be heavy underdogs again against the Falcons.

Proud to eat crow and in this case love to be wrong. Doesn't get any easier next week in Atlanta but this team is still in good position to hang around and make things interesting at least into October.

Gameday Thread Bills vs Broncos 1st Half

Also nice to see Jerry Hughes back in midseason form with the stupid penalties and McDermott does nothing on the sideline about it. -

And just like that the defense implodes and all the momentum goes back to the Broncos. -

Ok nice job to Taylor and the entire offense there, definitely giving credit now keep it up the entire game and the running lanes will open. -
Gameday Thread Bills vs Broncos 1st Half
SaviorPeterman replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Taylor is so scared to throw the ball because he knows he's going to turn it over. On the other side Simean is throwing it all over the field and it's a matter of time before he torches this defense, also see what happens when you throw the ball you get penalties against the defense? This team is a joke and there is no reason to not bench Taylor at halftime unless we are purposely trying to lose. -
McDermott: Bills Need More Urgency from Dareus
SaviorPeterman replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This quote is pretty telling especially with Dareus out today because of another 'injury'. I suspect that as the losses continue this season they'll release him by the end of the year and simply take the monstrous cap hit. -
St Doug on the National Stage!
SaviorPeterman replied to BringBackOrton's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've said all along the Jags are a dark horse team this year and kudos to St Doug for running as far away from the Pegulas and recognizing early they were going to be another clown show in terms of ownership. And regardless of your opinion of Marrone's time in Buffalo he does appear to be a good head coach that can get the most of a roster with deficiencies just like he did with this roster and now with the Jags (specifically not having strong QB play for the most part). -
I don't think we have much of a chance in this game even if Glenn and Dareus were playing but at least we aren't sticking hobbled guys out there. For what few Dareus supporters left, now they can use this latest lingering injury as an excuse as to why he ends up doing pretty much nothing this year once again. As for Glenn might as well sit him a few weeks and see if he can get healthy but I suspect it's only a matter of time before he is sent to IR.

Yes across the board, especially on offense and coaching.
