The Bills are not crowded at DT, and therefore Bannan could stick in the rotation. One free agent the Bills have signed according to BBI and the Zone, and another thread here is Geir Gudmundsen, a very strong tackle from the University of Albany. He's athletic enough to have a chance.

I took it in 1974. I did well enough to get a summer job out of it. Unfortunately, it's too long ago to remember much about it. In part the written test is designed to measure your ability read quickly (addresses), to recognize and remember patterns, abilities you need to sort mail and put up your case as a letter carrier. I don't think the driving test is a big deal. It's mostly to see how well you can adapt to driving from the wrong (right) side of the vehicle.

What Do You Shoot? How Long Have You Played?

I shot a 65 once. . . then I had to play the back nine. That didn't go so well. -
More signs it looks like Travis to Cards
TigerJ replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's true that Shelton has played more left than right tackle, but he struggles sometimes with speed rushers. He's got good size and strength so in the minds of some people he may be a better fit at RT than LT. The question is who is Dr. Z's man on the inside of the Bills, and does he really speak for the Bills thinking in this. If the Bills really feel that way about a Shelton trade, why let the rumor stay alive so long? Is TD just using Arizona's interest in TH as leverage to get a better deal from someone else (Philadelphia)? -
East Coast Reporting More?!

#35 is a high sicond round pick. I personally don't think that is a good trade from Buffalo's standpoint, but wouldn't mind it if Philly threw in another pick in a lower round, say a 4th. I don't think Philly would trade their third. -
We're going to be driving the Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway and stopping to see things along the way. I'll see you again when we get back.

Yeah, Castillo has been one of the risers on value boards based on his strong combine. The odds that he'll be available at #55 have dropped considerably over the last 6 weeks.
-
It sounds very dated, plus he could use the services of a good editor. I wonder what he would be willing to pay for one.

A resident of Alaska who frequents this board

Next time, try poison. -
He might be a little thin/frail to be an every down player if he's still at his reported rookie weight (169 lbs.) If f he can pack on 10-15 lbs. of muscle and keep his speed and quickness, I think he could possibly start someday.

You also have a child and are wrestling with the baptism question, LA? Do you have any religious beliefs? Are you being pressured by family members to have your son baptized? I can respect just about any decision you make about baptism, except lying to get it done. Thanks for having the integrity to openly question what's going on and seeking some real answers. If you believe in God, but haven't found a church you're comfortable in, I have to believe that somewhere in LA there is a lively, warm and friendly church where you could feel at home.

The service of baptism for infants in the United Methodist Church, and probably others, require that at least one parent, or a sponsor in place of parents promise to raise the child in the care of the church. For parents, to make that promise without intending to keep it are lying to me, to the church, and to God. One couple came to me once and requested baptism for their infant, They made that promise and never showed up in church again. Three years later they contacted me about baptizing their next baby. I wrote back refusing. Families that want their child baptized because they think there is some magical seal of Christ placed on him/her are missing the point. The Bible tells us that Jesus is the baptizer. "After me will come one the thong of whose sandal I am unworthy to tie. I baptize with water but he will baptize with the Holy Spirit and with fire." John the Baptist speaking of Christ. In Ephesians Paul writes, "There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism." What we do in water baptism is a reflection of what Jesus does with the Holy Spirit. However, I believe that Jesus does his thing as a person gives his/her heart to God. Baptism of infants anticipates that. But, parents who have their children baptized, yet never follow through on their promises in essence are telling their children they don't need the church, they don't need a personal relationship. For them, infant baptism becomes kind of an innoculation against true Christianity. Those parents are doing their children a disservice IMHO. The children are better off not being baptized than to have parents lie in order to have it done.

Should we call him "Crap Thorpe" for short?

I have a dog named Toby that would love to catch and eat a rabbit named Toby.

Agreed. Castillo has DT size and strength with DE speed. He's strong against the run, and I'm guessing with some good coaching could become a strong pass rusher from the interior of the line. The Bills might even be tempted to play him some at LDE.

I'm not interested in getting into a fight or anything, but I couldn't disagree with you more vigorously. I agree with the part about attending church not implying salvation. However, I understand relationship with God to be the very heart of salvation and God's purpose for us. Right actions, including love for our neighbor (everyone whose lives we may have the opportunity to touch) flow from that. In the Bible, which informs my beliefs, the greatest commandment, affirmed by Jesus, is "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your mind, and with all your strength." "Your shall love your neighbor as yourself" is important, and a corolary to the greatest commandment, but there is no question which is first and most important.

First of all, I'm assuming the more correct term in the Lutheran Church is baptism, as it is in the United Methodist Church. I can't speak for your pastor, but in 25 years I have received honoraria for performing a baptism only about 3 times. If you are not regular attenders the pastor might consider it appropriate. I am always thrilled to do a baptism, and actually feel a bit funny accepting an honorarium for doing it. Unlike a wedding, which in the Protestant tradition is not a sacrament, I really feel like I represent the whole church in officiating a baptism, and therefore should not be compensated for doing a service. I am far more concerned WITH PARENTS RAISING THEIR CHILDREN TO KNOW THAT GOD LOVES THEM, THAT WE LEARN ABOUT GOD IN THE BIBLE, AND THAT CHRISTIANS SHOULD ATTEND CHURCH, than receiving anything for doing the baptism.

If Willis has ambitions of doing the kind of endorsement work and commercials that Michael Jordon was known for, he's going to have to hire a coach to help him sound more articulate. Michael Jordan has a very presentable public persona and a pleasant, articulate way of speaking. Willis doesn't.

I agree that if there is to be a resolution to this problem, it's got to come from your wife.

Franco Harris had and Italian parent and an African American parent. I don't know which was his father and which his mother.

Someone you know? -
He's rated a 6th round value. I have no problem spending a 6th rounder for a guy to back up our starter. You have to wonder what kind of coaching he had at McMaster. Maybe Buffalo's coaching staff can correct some of his deficiencies in technique.

Lawsuit: Teacher Makes Girl Unclog Toilet
TigerJ replied to Tux of Borg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree that the teacher was being unnecessarily cruel. I can't figure out what could have created the clog though, unless the girl used way too much toilet paper. If that becomes a habit, then the school might be justified in insisting the mother teach her kid how not to clog the toilet.
