  1. I don't see why ANY team would be opposed to it. I'm sure some players wont like it. Tough sh*t, if you got a problem with it, go get a normal job.
  2. The players agents dictate the market then. What if the NFL steps in and says they're gonna limit the salary based on the players position? QB's - no more than 10% WR - no more than 5% .............. and so on, It'll make it easier for teams to sign there own players. It'll put more emphasis on drafting good players and keeping them. Teams will be built from the draft, the way it should be.
  3. The NFL and players just need to learn to distribute the cap space a little better, that way teams are built more evenly/fairly. Like positional salary minimum/maximum. This IS a team sport the last time I checked. Why should 1 player get 15% or more of the salary cap? Honestly.
  4. So hypothetically.... If JA were to sign right now for 45M/year for 5 years, who do we cut to sign him?
  5. Idk, i just don't see it. Cutting a very good center just to save $4.8M? That seems like a really stupid move TBH. Spotrac along with overthecap cover all sports, they just punched in some numbers and came up with 60M savings. Not realizing that some of it makes 0 sense, and just isn't going to happen. Although the savings would be nice. Restructure Diggs? like @BillsFanForever19 said, I do remember hearing about something earlier in the year with his contract. Restructure White? C'mon! He just signed his contract in September. Him, his Attorney, the Bills FO all knew about the potentially lower salary cap this year. So any type of savings that we'd get, is already factored in. Cut John Brown? This one makes the most sense to me. Doable, and we have his replacement in GD. Cut Butler, Jefferson, Addison? Go right ahead, they're all replaceable with similar if not better players. Cut Morse? Stupid idea. top 10 center, only to save $4.8M. This isn't a stab at you, or the OP. It's more of a stab at Spotrac. 'Let's publish this list because it'll save the Bills $60M'
  6. This is pretty much exactly how I see it also. (not sure if you'll agree, but it makes perfect sense to me.) Cut JB = save $8M Gabriel Davis takes over for JB. Allocate that $8M to extend Daryl Williams. Addition by subtraction. GD will only get better as time goes on, and we'll lock in our RT for the next 3+ years. Keeping JA upright for the foreseeable future. No news is good news! And I like it!
  7. They're not that bad, But not that good either. And I totally agree with you on the second part. From what I've read on these forums, It seems like most people are ok with letting Daryl Williams leave in the off season. He's our best RT we've had in 15+ years. And I'm sure that had a lot to do with keeping JA upright. Does anyone on here have any actual news regarding Daryl and the Bills other than just rumors? They're being pretty hush-hush about it. To me, that sounds like a deal is being made behind the scenes.
  8. That explains why I missed it. Paywall. Well damn, I didn't even realize any of that. That quote makes it sound like he's as good as gone then. Stupid me.... I thought that Morse was only making 4.8M/year. Salary - Dead cap = 4.8M in savings. As for the running game, I think it's a mixture of everything. Run blocking/Moss+Singletary not being that great/Not running as much as we as fans thought they would.
  9. I must've missed that. Still though, that's a huge hole to fill for $4.8M of salary. I don't think we're gonna find a similar center for less than $5M/year. Power Run scheme or not, it doesn't help when both Moss and Singletary suck. lol
  10. Morse? Really? Cutting Brown makes a lot more sense than Morse.
  11. Ok. So you're asking everybody on this forum if Chris Simms has Zach Wilson ahead of Trevor Lawrence. Well if you look at the link you posted, then you'd already know the answer to it. Also, You'd want to start the sentence with "Does" We use do/does or is/are as question words when we want to ask yes/no questions. If you're letting everyone know that Chris Simms has Zach Wilson ahead of Trevor Lawrence, then you don't need a question mark. because you're making a statement. Look up. 3 pages and 4 hours into your post, I'll go ahead and answer your "question". Yes, it appears that Chris Simms has Zach Wilson ahead of Trevor Lawrence. Here's a link that answers your question. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/03/03/zach-wilson-over-trevor-lawrence-chris-simms-says-yes/
  12. Chris Simms Has Zach Wilson Ahead Of Trevor Lawrence? Are you asking a question or making a statement?
  13. I don't mean to hi-jack this thread, so I'll end it here. I wasn't arguing with you. Just based on your post, I figured you'd rather go offense instead of defense at 30. Specifically, a play-maker. And that only leaves one option, a RB. And for the record, I'd be ecstatic if we got either Etienne, Harris, or Williams at 30. 👍
  14. LOL, you were watching Javonte Williams weren't you. That's another player I'd be more than happy to take at 30.
  15. I don't know much about this guy, but his "retirement" is a medical retirement. I'm assuming what this really means is, he's a young kid(21) that had a couple injuries in a short amount of time, ankle injury, car accident, concussion.... and he decided to stop playing football to reevaluate what he wanted to do in life. Makes sense when these injuries happen when you're 18 and 19 years old. See link below https://247sports.com/college/miami/Article/Jaelan-Phillips-Miami-football-No-1-recruit-retired-defensive-end-injuries-NFL-Draft-156544966/ Also, his football injury history isn't even that bad. An ankle injury his freshman year, wrist surgery because of an accident that was unrelated to football ( I didn't look too much into it, but it looks like it was somewhere between his freshman and sophomore season.) Then a concussion in his sophomore season. TBF, that's a lot of pain to deal with in a short amount of time when you're only 18/19 years old. So basically 2 football related injuries in a 3+ year period. That's not that bad. Then he goes ahead and transfers to a tougher conference (ACC) and plays pretty darn good in 2020 after not playing for almost 2 years. Based off the highlight reel, he looks pretty good. Fast too. Good tackler, excellent size. Pull the trigger if he's there at 30.
  16. Definitely. Let's hope for many more with the Bills.
  17. Well, Josh Allen scored a total of 306 points all of last year. ( I think that's correct) While Tyler Bass scored a total 167 points all of last year. Bass just finished his rookie year, and single-handedly won us the Jets game last year. So.... If I'm GM of the Bills I'm giving Bass a 20M/year contract.
  18. Damn, I was speculating this back in a thread in December.
  19. For the right guy, in the right system at the right price. Then sure.
  20. Edmunds was an OLB in college, but McD converted him to MLB. That hasn't really worked out very well. I (and probably McD and others) were hoping for a Luke Kuechly-esque MLB. I'm honestly not sure how he's made the pro bowl these past couple seasons. Oliver's to small for DT, I never liked the pick when it happened. He's playing exactly how I thought he would play, like crap.
  21. Big Blitz is saying it's improper use of the word finally. The word 'finally' in that sentence would imply that JA has been to the AFC Championship game several times. If I didn't know better and I read that title, I would assume JA played in the AFCCG at least twice and lost them both, this game being the 3rd time in the AFCCG given the use of the word 'finally'.
  22. No offense, but I think who ever made this graph might just be making stuff up. Did it actually cross the plane? This "graph" says it did. But it also shows that the other field goal didn't even hit the cross bar. Just sayin'. Edit: not to mention, the purple line in each graph is different.
