At this point barring a huge trade, I’d be good if we add Palmer and Ward as two new pieces. Addresses WR and CB, allowing Beane to focus on DE, DT and S in draft.

From SuperBowl champion to a team that rarely makes the playoffs. 🤷♂️ Show me the money!
-
Slay, Pickens, Metcalf, Friermuth. Steelers have weapons but it will come down to their QB.
-
Fields is going to do a lot of running behind that OL!
-
For those upset, who’s out there that you currently want? Most teams signed their own before letting them become FA’s. Thus far, there isn’t anyone that I feel has been a huge miss by the Bills. Sweat and or Ward are the two in my radar.

Makes you wonder if Beane feels this Free Agent group is weaker compared to prior years. If the Bills can hit in the draft that is heavy with defensive players, it will significantly help them both in the short term and long term. What we can ill afford is to whiff on our early draft picks!

Josh Allen gets record contract extension $330 million
TFBillsfan replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Happy for Josh as it’s very well deserved! Now I truly hope Beane can surround Josh with additional top talent. Outside of Diggs, the roster has lacked playmakers on both sides of the ball. Bills: Josh and ????? KC: Mahomes, Kelce, Jones Balt: Jackson, Henry, Hamilton, McQueen Cinn: Burrows, Higs, Chase, Hendricksen Obviously, the Bills have a solid roster, but to break the wall down, they need significant upgrades in talent! -
Browns ink Myles Garrett to an Extension
TFBillsfan replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
IMO, Garrett was always a pipe dream. If we didn’t get him, I’m glad no other contender did as well. After the dust settles, I’m hoping and praying, we hit in the draft with impactful players! -
At MINIMUM based upon previous punishments by the NFL, one would have to think Rice and Worthy are suspended for four games. Knowing what Rice did, it should be more than four games.
-
I haven’t gotten that vibe at all is to just run it back. If we can see where the Bills have gaps in talent, I’m confident Beane and McDermott see it. If Bernard and Milano stay healthy this season, that will be huge for the D.

Jags release Christian Kirk, seems like a Billsy move

Throw in Kincaid as well who they said can line up there as well. Without much success thus far. -
DK Metcalf requests trade to a contender
TFBillsfan replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Curious what Seattle is willing to take for him. I would imagine they’ll have multiple teams interested. Also curious how critical it is to go to a contender? AKA: Hopkins choosing Tenn Would a 4th and 5th do it? -
Garrett is obviously the biggest potential fish out there but I’m not sure what it would take to acquire him. The Bills have significant needs on the DL and at minimum half of their secondary needs addressed. If we could get Garrett by giving up pick 30 and next years #1 I wouldn’t hesitate. But I really wouldn’t want to give up anymore unless it later round picks. I’m not expecting the Bills to get Garrett, but am hopeful they hit in the draft at DT, DE, S and CB. If they somehow hit on three of those, they’d be set for the foreseeable future while having a better overall cap situation. Unfortunately, as has already been noted by others, Beane has missed on drafting impactful players in the early rounds and has had to make up for it thru FA and giving up draft capital which had caused negative ripples.

NFLPA Team Report Cards out - Bills are 23/32
TFBillsfan replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Interesting the strength coaches came in with a B+, but we terminated our S&C coach. -
From a pure NFL marketing play, Bills vs Steelers in Dublin is major TV ratings. Will be interesting to see what happens but I don’t recall in division games played internationally. Typically, no team wants to give up a home game against an in division opponent.

I’d love it if the price was right but I don’t envision that happening. Beane has three picks in the top 62 and a boatload of later round picks in a deep draft for defense. He can’t miss like last year when the WR class was deep. IF Beane can get three impactful starters on D, it sets the table nicely for the future. IMO, our D needs much more than one player. DT, DE, S and CB are all in dire need of talent. Critical draft for Beane to hit on! Don’t be shy about packaging later picks to move up into the 3rd and 4th rounds. The vast majority of 5th, 6th and 7th rounders aren’t going to make this roster.

Unfortunately, the D needs a significant overhaul. What is their strength, who is a difference maker? The DL has shown it can’t consistently rush the passer or stop the run. Far too often they get completely stonewalled. The secondary is a major liability, who typically plays 10 yards off WR’s and a S who lined up 15 yards deep. Then add in linebackers who have struggled to stay healthy. This contributed to why the Bills were atrocious on getting off the field on 3rd down this past season. There was way too much pressure for the O to be dang near perfect to mask the D’s deficiencies. The team drastically needs upgrades at DT, DE and S. And most likely another CB. Beane and the staff need to hit on instant contributors this draft. They have plenty of draft capital and should be able to address a few needs thru FA.

Is Bosa really any better than what we’ve been getting from Miller? Bosa can’t stay healthy and no way would I want to over spend on Bosa. Instead how about we hit in the draft!
-
Jay Higgins seems like steal in the 6th round. Is that his projection. Guy has been a warrior at LB for Iowa.
-
Assuming we can’t make an impactful trade on the DL, how would you feel if these were our first three draft picks: 1st round: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan 2nd round: Jack Sawyer, DE, Ohio State 2nd round: Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina. Go get a WR and CB in FA.

The reality this was a down year for KC and their pixie dust finally ran out. Their OL was a mess and only ONCE all season their offense scored more than 30 points. Secondly, it highlights how BAD, very BAD our overall D was in this past season. We all saw it each week. Zero pass rush on a consistent basis, inability to stop the run consistently and our woeful 3rd down D. In some regards, the Bills probably overachieved due to Josh and the O masking how bad the D was. When your O is scoring 30 plus a game, you tend to think it’s okay. At the end of the day, Beane and McDermott HAVE TO DRAFT better. They can’t continue to have non impactful players with their 1st picks. Beane wasted draft capital on trading up for Elam and Kincaid, while believing he had to add a big WR in Coleman. who can’t separate. He’s missed badly in the last three drafts on his first picks and it’s creating rippling impacts! We have two LB when healthy are good but they can’t stay healthy. Outside of Benford, our entire secondary is below avg. And finally, our DL, for all the draft capital and free agency money spent, they’ve yet to produce when it matters. They all individually have a game or two where they appear but far too many where they are MIA. Bottom line, the D needs a significant overhaul and upgrade of talent.

Love how every time Philly has a positive play, KC is looking for a flag! -

Of course KC turns into a pumpkin after playing their best game of the season against the Bills. This game highlights how dismal our D was and how woeful our DL is. -
Father Time and injuries have caught up with Rodgers. All I know is I’m thankful to get out of QB purgatory! The Jets are knee deep in it and I’m not sure what options they have other than tank this season for a top pick. I’d love Wilson as well but don’t see the Jets doing us any favors to get him.
