  1. Nobody hates James Williams as much as FSU fans, from what I've seen online. Seems like a rocked up guy who just isn't great at football. Lack of instincts and athleticism seem like major red flags this high in the draft. As a sub-package LB the player MIGHT have value down the line, is my read. As evidenced by latest mock (above), I LOVE Thomas and Legette in first two rounds. Take a look at my mock above for how I'd prefer the Bills approach the rest of this "type" of draft.
  2. My favorite mock draft to date. Only giving next year's 2nd and 3rd to move up to 20 and grab Thomas Jr in front of the Dolphins. WR room is now STACKED with Legette as well in rd 2. Love the way needs get filled with value throughout remainder of draft. I grade this one an A+ lol
  3. Hey wtf is this trade offer? I'm flabbergasted. Man I hate the Chiefs
  4. The time for spending both draft assets AND cap assets on an established WR is long gone... The Bills need to be focused on adding elite WR talent at a cost-controlled cap hit via the draft. The QB is mature enough to help raise youngins now. New plan.
  5. At the risk of being a total joiner... Traded up to Saints #14 = Bills #28 + Bills 2025 1st and Min 2025 2nd -- to grab Rome Odunze, among other moves. How we feeling about Odunze and Cornelius Johnson at WR plus value at DT, RB, OG, S (former Miami secondary coach is with Bills now) and CB?
  6. Can anyone verify that defenses back in 2020-2022 used to actually put their #1 CBs on Davis and/or Brown/Sanders and then double Diggs with their #2 CB and a safety? I might remember that being a thing for a minute. Spagnuolo has been successful, especially in the playoffs, challenging his young corners to matchup physically and aggressively with our guys. Obviously Gabe Davis won that matchup a handful of times that one game (especially against his former UCF teammate, Mike Hughes). But otherwise, how many SBs has Spags' scheme pulled off?
  7. We all understand that Diggs' 2024 cap hit is only $3M more now than it would have been with him here, right? I fear when fans read "dead cap hit" they imagine some additional cap penalty for moving him. It's basically the same as him being here, but now the Bills will save mucho cap space in 2025 and beyond. I'm excited to see Joe Brady calling plays, and Josh Allen distributing the football, COMPLETELY FREE of selfish egos in the huddle and on the sideline. The Diggs+Allen political marriage had obviously fractured over the years. Time to let Josh lead the ticket in this election cycle. I like Kincaid as a potential WR1a, with Samuel as WR1b, and some weekly blend of a 1st rd rookie WR, Shakir, and Cook as WR3s, depending on the matchups and tendencies. KC has won b2b championships with Kelce as WR1 and a mix of WRs and RBs filling roles behind him. I like the Bills going for something similar but with a more consistent and dangerous and multiple run game to boot. Gotta have multiple solutions to every problem NFL defensive coordinators throw out you in a given season.
  8. Neither Diggs nor Mixon has EVER been a "malcontent" in their first years with a given team. Let's not be sloppy and wrong with how to look at Mixon's deplorable off-field violence (makes him a doosh but hasn't impacted his ability to be a pro on a winning team) and Diggs' regrettable sideline and social media insider trading/signaling (didn't even exist in Buffalo in first two seasons--until 13 seconds and his first playoff disappearing act). Mixon was a major part of the offensive equation that allowed Burrow to ascend in Cincinnati, and Diggs was a MAJOR part of the offensive AND PERSONAL equation that allowed Allen to ascend in Buffalo. Both equations have changed over the years, and both teams have chosen to move on.
  9. In a future year that is a 3rd round value. Which is why I characterized BOTH picks the Bills gave up as 6th round values. Ya dig?
  10. As to the bolded, I'm pretty sure it's NOT true that Diggs' decline in production was the result of double-teams. Defenses definitely shaded his way with a safety at times, but what I recall neutralizing him the most was the physical, press-man attention he got from #1 corners. Whereas he used to often win against aggressive, press-man coverage, he has had more difficulty doing so in the past two years (and the past two post-seasons against KC in particular). Then last year we also saw some misses when Diggs DID defeat his coverage. Some of those misfires were on Allen at times, no doubt, but down the stretch and in the playoffs we were watching a diminished Diggs drop balls and lose contested catch situations. Those misfires were season-altering.
  11. But why SHOULD Houston do that? What's his leverage? His extension JUST kicked in. Houston did not pay all that much to acquire him if you correctly downgrade future years' draft picks a round. Essentially, Houston got Stefon Diggs plus two 6th round picks all for one 3rd round pick. Not bad. No reason to sink more than Diggs' already handsome annual salaries into the transaction, considering the WR's age and the consecutive seasons' 2nd half drop-offs. Getting more than a productive 2024 out of him would be wishful thinking tbh.
  12. Maybe that line of criticism should go away for EVERYONE. I respect the heck out of Diggs for enjoying life's carnal pleasures. He's a bit compulsive/competitive about it, for sure (Valentine's hotel reservations a few years back, for those who know), but I think we know he's a certain kind of guy. Look up that Minnesota locker room clip of his teammates individually naming him as the guy they wouldn't trust with their sisters (or something like that).
  13. Diggs is "crazy" like a fox. Except I'm not sure he can get paid any more money than his current deal maps out. This particular breakup appears to be about more than seeking additional signing bonuses. Why would a team do ANYthing to tie themselves to him (wrt the cap) beyond the current year?
  14. My first trade-UP. Cost me next year's 1st and a couple 4ths. Very happy with the results overall, but probably should have taken a couple modest mid-round tradebacks to win back some 2025 draft capital.
  15. Am I just deluded for thinking the first 5 or 6 picks here should be contributors sooner rather than later? Of course at least one or more of them has to miss, statistically, but these seem like strong picks at positions of need and value. I think Robinson and Legette are potential game-changers. Interesting to consider such a sweeping defensive retooling while also adding a couple needed offensive pieces.
  16. I mean, is there a Bills fan who would NOT take that early draft haul + the future picks? I don't love the 2nd WR or the 1st RB, but I DO love the b2b 2nd round DT and WR, even though that DT will be a rotational piece at best early on. The prospect of one of the rotational DEs making it (one of them probably ends up elsewhere, though) is nice, but there isn't much else to love unless that Penn State OC becomes essential depth (best case for him and team). So that 1st and 2nd round pick in 2025 is the real haul after those two essential 2024 pieces in rd 2. Trading back a little bit out of the first can be wildly lucrative long term, but risky in the short term. It's difficult lately for me to run a Bills mock and NOT take the bait on at least one or two trade back offers.
  17. With the doubling-up at both DL positions, it's possible the Bills would be exposing one pick of each to waivers (if they can't find a path to IR/redshirt rookie season)...and to be fair, I'm okay with it being an all-out competition at DT and DE for spots 3-4, or 4-5, depending on final allotment. Most likely at least one of those four DL picks is NOT going to be on the Bills 2024 roster. Again, not the end of the world. Increasing the chances of finding at least one guy by potentially finding too many guys? Sign me up as long as you're addressing these other needs with quality players (like I see here).
  18. Is anyone thinking that Worthy might go MUCH earlier than projected? He's got the speed and buzz that has rocketed other WRs way up in the 1st round. A team like the Raiders (if Al Davis was still around I'd say bank on it) or the Cowboys could take a swing at him. There could be other teams lurking in the teens and twenties. He strikes me as a guy who gets picked surprisingly early. (forgive me if it's been considered already in this marathon thread)
  19. Coleman has become increasingly intriguing to me, despite some red flags that had me initially dismissing him. Not 100% sure about the Josh Allen comparison you put forth, because Allen had all the physical traits and then some, whereas Coleman apparently lacks the agility and acceleration you look for on day one. Both prospects were viewed as raw, for sure. Unrefined and/or inconsistent. I'm lately coming around to Coleman as a possible DAWG, like Allen, who still has so much room for improvement. Elite ball skills and body control in a big basketball frame (for a WR)? Sounds like an intriguing X option who might project better than he tests (with some work). That combine gauntlet was basically the best we've ever seen, beating out Puka Nacua's showing from the year prior. Coleman tests very similar to Nacua overall, turns out, but is taller and heavier. Can't shake the feeling he could be exactly what the Bills have been missing.
  20. Couple of day three guys with upside: Nehemiah Pritchett Cornelius Johnson Day one guy who is a better fit than many Bills fans want to admit: Cooper DeJean Day two guy I'll bet the Bills are high on: Marshawn Kneeland
  21. Curious: what is it about Monson you don't like? Is it mostly his PFF roots? (No shame in a little "yuck" there.)
  22. Trading back early, and then back up later, is what I'm doing these days just to feel something. The results here are 2017 Saints-like, innit @GunnerBill?
  23. Does that A- for Polk mean that you scrolled down past a handful of available prospects specifically to select a WR, and/or that PFF saw a better need-based value on the board? It's about adding the best/most NFL talent possible with every pick in every year. But of course not every pick, every year will make the roster, thus...position can and should occasionally boost a prospect based on need. In this mock-case, you're using a 1st round pick to add a CB to a position of strength--I think Benford, Douglas, Elam, Lewis, Johnson is a decent room already. Then again, if Wiggins is legit (I have NO idea), can't really be a bad move to bring him in. I'd prefer a DL or WR prospect there, but who knows how it specifically shook out.
