Will He Reinvent Himself: Coach Sean McDermott
thenorthremembers replied to waterglass's topic in The Stadium Wall
The defense and Chris Jones are the real backbone of the Chiefs championship huh? Kinda odd to say that considering Jones, Reid, and Kelce were all with the Chiefs before Mahomes got there and had won zero championships. -
The Bills are not going all out
thenorthremembers replied to PoundingDog's topic in The Stadium Wall
So they aren't going all out and want to make sure they rest guys like Rasul Douglas and Taylor Rapp, yet their quarter billion dollar franchise player is still starting and scrambling? Good strategy. -
And not sustainable. I am happy they are 12-3 but I am also thinking about the playoffs.

The defense just isn't good. It isn't the play calling, they just don't do anything well. They can't rush the passer. The linebacker and safeties stink so they can't stop the run. They have a couple decent corners but that's the extent of it. They need to reload.

How do you know they didn't? Have to find someone who wants him. He isn't a good football player.

Just get to the playoffs. Hard for a team who has very little to play for to get up to play terrible teams.

CJ Stroud's uncontrollable crying.....
thenorthremembers replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
People forget how young these guys are. Stroud is a 23 year old kid. Not going to give a kid a lot of hell for crying. -
It should be Kevin O'Connell.

Really hope this isn't true. One of my favorites of all time. Those As teams were part of my childhood.

Don’t ever sell the team, Woody!
thenorthremembers replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
Here's the deal with this article. Woody may indeed be a terrible owner, but this hit piece is the exact reason Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh should never be in a position of leadership in the NFL again. The article is clearly an attempt by their people to pass the buck onto ownership for their own failures. For example: “They keep on doing the same thing over and over: they change the football people. The football people are not the issue,” one former executive said. “It’s, ‘Hey, I have brain cancer.’ And, ‘Well, just cut off your foot.'”- Calling BS on this one. Joe Douglas drafted Zach Wilson not Woody Johnson. Joe Douglas traded for an about to be 40-year-old Quarterback, not Woody Johnson. The Jets had 8 different top 15 picks in the draft from 2019-2024. Somehow instead of turning any of those picks into a serviceable Quarterback Douglas collected edge rushers, cornerbacks, and wide receivers with no one to pass them the ball. It's clearly a football people thing. On the Jerry Jeudy thing. Yes, its stupid but Jerry Jeudy is the hill Douglas wants to die on? Was Jerry Jeudy going to somehow make the Jets a Super Bowl Contender? It's fairly clear the Jets hired two guys in Douglas and Saleh who lack an appetite for personal responsibility. Rather than take a look in the mirror for how the organization was run under their leadership they decided to cover their butts by blaming the guy who paid them millions of dollars to be failures. -
No one needs you to feel bad for them. Feelings are the reason we are in this mess.

Will Miami start taking calls on Hill?
thenorthremembers replied to RoscoeParrish's topic in The Stadium Wall
Miami isnt going to release him. The dead money for the remainder of this year alone 10.5 million. Not to mention the additional 40 million in dead cap for next year. If they move on from him its going to be with picks in hand. -
There were a few instances in the show where I wondered the same. He really needs to put those family demons to bed or it's never going to change. Having some purpose beyond football outside of "self reflection" may also help.

How many seasons running is this now that Mahomes has an ankle or foot ouchy just before the playoffs? He isn't sitting. He will play just fine on it. It will just become more folklore ammunition for Collinsworth to suds up during the tongue bath.

Why hasn't the Samuel signing worked?
thenorthremembers replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Gonna go out on a limb and say he just may not be that good. He has some name recognition from being a former 2nd round pick but even in his best year he had 77 receptions, 851 yards and 3 touchdowns. He's going on 29 years old and has never eclipsed 1000 yards in a season, and rarely been over 11 yards a reception. I think the Bills probably thought they could get more out of him playing with a great quarterback. The likelihood is they overpaid for potential and will have to live with it through next season. -
Just tuned in to see how motivated these guys were after the meeting yesterday. Yikes man.

You got me on this one. I thought his role was being reduced at the end of that year. Ill eat the crow.
