  1. As did I. But this is not just one play.

My point earlier was that I said Zay had to leap and or dive for some passes. I was told Zay never had to do that. The pictures I posted showed that he did.

Zay started of BAD, he did Very Good Sunday. 4/4 was impressive compared to earlier weeks.

so you were being difficult just for the sake of it i'm assuming? the nice ball tyrod tossed over his shoulder to him in the ATL game should have 100% been caught even though he had to stretch out for it. it was a drive killer on 3rd down at the end of the first half and the falcons proceeded to march down the field and score before halftime. I see what you're doing. you are arguing just for the sake of it. but just becuz a receiver has to stretch out for a ball doesn't mean it excuses the freaking blatant drop.

sunday was good to see. but isn't it a little sad that anyone has to pump up the fact that he finally had a game where he didn't drop any passes? come on man.

  2. how bout the 2 fans she talked to in the bar..... man, that paints a really horrible picture of what us bills fans are thinking. the person saying he just flat out blows and is a manuel clone.... literally couldnt be more stupid. i wish she woulda talked to somebody that had a clue. lol. but wouldnt have made for as good a read i'm sure. haha

    Sounds like quarterback purgatory.

sounds like we have a solid qb while still having ammo to go get the guy they deem fit for the future if its not tyrod. I cant think of many situations better than that.

He's playing the same as he's always played.

which was always solid and is being accented with a good defense and solid run game..... it was fairly obvious the team woulda been in the playoffs, had they had a defense the last 2 seasons.

finally we get to see how valuable efficient and mistake free football can be from a qb once the defense holds up their end. get on board dude. enjoy the ride. geez.

  3. Thanks, Meanie.

Other people see things in written words that writers didn't necessarily intend. (One time I saw Bob Dylan quoted saying he wished people would stop asking him what some song meant, because he doesn't know.) I really like and appreciate your comments about the rain. I didn't intend the metaphor, but you're absolutely right about it.

And I didn't know exactly why Holmes's toe-tapping impressed me. You nailed it. High-end, detailed professional competence has been missing on this team for a long time. And thinking about it, that's why I was so impressed with Taylor on Sunday. He seemed to be doing all of the little things, without fanfare.

    Thanks for the comments.

think it may have been early 4th or maybe on that long drive in the 3rd you had mentioned. 3rd and mid range from about mid field. he stands in the pocket strong and for a good while waiting for the route to come through. took a little hit and delivered a strike to Mathews across the middle to keep the drive going and the clock running. commentators didn't talk much about it. havnt read anything about it on here and I just sat there thinking how huge a play that was. "the little things". things we didn't see in the past.

  4. its a division game and the jets have shown to be plenty tough enough to be able to win a game like this. hard to sweep teams in the division. i wont be surprised if the bills win and I think they SHOULD.... but also wont be horribly surprised if a competitve jets team shows up, plays inspired ball at home in primetime and takes one.

  5. Ok ok. So i may have jumped the gun.

We just dont see RB carry the ball like they used to 20yrs ago. So just like WR and QB numbers will probably be adjusted for HOF entry, the RB numbers will prob be adjusted as well. Shady has been a top 5 all-around RB in this league now for years.

when it comes to McCoy even before he was a bill I had said there have been quite a few backs that somebody will say "that rb has a similar style to, or reminds me of jim brown or payton or Dickerson. the one runner you never heard that about was barry sanders. nobody seemed to be able to come close to his feats on the field. when McCoy came along he was the first runner that you could honestly say "he almost looks like barry out there at times". I don't think there's been another runner since barry that you can say that about. McCoy is just so much fun to watch and plays with so much heart. we need to enjoy this while it lasts becuz we may not see his type of running for a very long time...... if ever again.

  6. "With three more years at his career averages — 1,119 rushing yards, 48 receptions — he'll be over 12,000 rushing yards and 500 catches, and all four backs who've done that (LaDainian Tomlinson, Marcus Allen, Emmitt Smith and Marshall Faulk) have been enshrined in Canton. And Shady has a far higher per-carry average than any of those four"

the theme of this article is about him building his resume'.... nowhere does it say he's even close to having the credentials if his career ended today. so lets hope it continues becuz he's truly a joy to watch and who knows if we'll ever get to watch another runner like him in buffalo.

  7. If his career ended now, HOF?

His career numbers are leaning that way.

seriously? not even close man. he's not even top 30 all time in rushing.... guys like fred taylor and edge james have over 12,000 yds rushing and are barely even considered.

I love shady. a generational talent. so damn good. but HOF if his career end now? that's absurd.

  8. can anyone find and of "saviorpetermans" gems.... he was saying all week how there was no way we stop the raiders and he was "concerned" it was gonna be rout. went on to state in other posts about how he's rarely wrong regarding football matters. that was fun...

and the week before he was "concerned" about the bucs game and that our offense would get exposed. even against a bad bucs defense. he's got some great ones.

    Hahahaha

Too bad SaviourPeterman deleted all his.

lolol. right? I was just asking where he was.... been saying the raiders were gonna rout us all week.

  9.

So our dream is to be the 2016 Miami Dolphins? That might be good enough for some.

heck of a start with a new coaching staff..... good enough FOR NOW is what I think most would agree with. i'm in the common sense camp that thinks we still may be able to field a fun to watch competitive team, maybe fool around and get themselves into the playoffs, and still have ammo to go get the guy of the future. some people(not saying you are one) have a hard time grasping that concept. but its looking more and more like a real possibility.

You raise a fair point. Tyrod is good enough to get into the playoffs I think, but he isn't good enough to take a team to the superbowl.

In saying that I hope they keep him next year but still draft a QB in the first round

    yup

  10.

This post is so ridiculous it feels like a troll post and can really take it seriously. Anything is possible, but the probability of the dolphins winning double digit games this year is as close to zero as it gets...let alone 11 or 12.

I have a good chuckle with the you are "rarely wrong" comment impeded in a post like this. And if you are "rarely wrong" you should be the highest paid exec in the NFL because even the best and most successful football minds in history are wrong more than they are right.

hahaha. just made a statement on that as well. comical.... extremely ironic

  11.

Nope, I admitted I was wrong about the game last night (although I'm rarely wrong).

But I guarantee the Dolphins are going to rebound from what was simply a team that has their number, similar to the Pats and Chiefs dominating the Bills every time we play them.

Adam Gase is a very detailed oriented coach and still won't be surprised if the Dolphins win 11 or 12 games this year because of key metrics that are still on their side.

how anyone could have watched how they have been winning games this year(i'm assuming you obviously havnt) and then say something as absurd as this is beyond me. especially after last night. even before last nights game I saw a team that was much closer to 7 or 8 wins than one that was gonna win 11.... which is why I absolutely HAMMERED the ravens at -3 last night. and I don't even think the ravens are any good... COME ON MAN.

side note.... the "i'm rarely wrong" remark" is comical..... I wonder if people think about how they look when they say things like that on here.

  12. Taylor has certainly graded out well in certain areas, but I still tend to believe a lot of it is because he doesn't turn the ball over much because of not taking chances and/or throwing the ball out of bounds or overthrowing down the field.

With that said he's in prime position to get this team to 5-2 and possibly 6-2 if last week against the Bucs wasn't an anomaly. So basically we'll find out if he's truly turned the corner or the same old player in the span of 4 days over the next two games.

an extremely underrated characterstic of his that was lost on people for his first 2 years becuz he rarely had help on the other side of the ball...

i'm all for looking for better options but now we finally see how VALUABLE protecting the football and ripping off the occasional big play can be with an opportunistic defense helping the offense out.

  13.

He's a lot like Jeff George in that way.

    @gregbradyTO

Lots of NFL people really down on Dolphins' effort last night but few are shocked. Culture is lousy & it hasn't changed all that much, even with Adam Gase.

ive said for years cutler is the modern day jeff George. his arm talent has always kept him employed and every once in a great while the circumstances are around them to be able to capitalize on that talent and win some games.

  14.

As much as I hate to give credit to another hated division team, the Dolphins have that look of a team that is going to win 11+ games this year and they are one of the most complete teams in the NFL. They remind me a lot of Bill Parcells Jets teams back in the day.

If there was a true dark horse that might have a shot to knock the Pats out of the playoffs it would be them. Don't see them winning the division though.

I honestly had to laugh at this. I have no clue what you have been watching to come to this conclusion. last year they somehow made the playoffs while both offense and defense were ranked in the 20's for yardage. it was a flukey type run. and this year they have come back from double digits late in games for their last 2 wins. complete meltdowns by the opposite team. not to mention the san diego game they won on a missed FG. they had absolutely no business being 4-2 going into last night. they have looked nothing like an 11 win team. that's comical to me.

  15. That describes Tyrod perfectly. He is not in the top tier of NFL QBs, we all know that. But he fits in with a bunch of other guys just outside the top tier and its hard to separate them because they all have different skill sets and completely different offenses built around them.

i was just gonna say this... its 100% accurate... bout 6 or 7 real superstars at the position and then on any given sunday the next 10 guys are basically interchangeable based on opponent, supporting cast and injuries. taylor is in that jumble. for now they try and surround him with some defense and run game, stay competitive and still go about finding the replacement that wont get lost in that interchangeable jumble in order to someday be consistent contenders.

  16. his escape ability is pretty special. I know at least a couple times he managed to avoid the sack and make a play.

I think one of best examples of that was the play that he actually only threw it away. rusher had him dead nuts and tyrod froze the guy and then at least get rid of it to avoid 2nd and FOREVER. if i'm not mistaken we got points on that drive.

We won't be better than 9-7 under Tyrod, We will exit in the first round if we squeak by into the playoffs, build for the future, it's obvious this guy doesn't have what it takes to take this team to a Superbowl. Whether he's just eeking out victories with the help of his defense, having his 1-4 dominant games a year, or either totally flopping as a quarterback and losing us games.

It alarms me when I think where we'd be if we didn't have such a superior running game, winless possibly? definitely at the bottom, and I can't remember the last time a rush heavy team won the SB in recent years, any team can rush for 100 yds if they run it 50 times. Indy was dead last in the NFL in rush efficiency in 2006 when they beat Chicago in the Super Bowl.

I'm no Tyrod hater, he's super fun to watch and has his clutch moments, although I have to be realistic in that I'm not confident that this is the QB that can take us to the Superbowl, we aren't the seahawks, he isn't russel wilson. This will be his 3rd year here and if he produces another mediocre year I don't see the justification in banging our head against the wall thinking he is our savior.

or as fan we can use our common sense and realize that we still have plenty of ammo to use for a pick at qb while we keep tyrod and he keeps us competitive. why do people always talk as though those 2 things are mutually exclusive.

  17. i coud be wrong but i think it was white that evans caught the td on. so.... theres that.

i love white. and i'm not trying to be a downer but evans did get the best of him there. even still if i remember correctly white was in real solid position and it was more of just a great throw and catch rather than bad defense on his part.

  18. It's because we inherited hundreds of red-headed stepchildren.

you seem like a bitter sort.

doesn't he? pretty jerk-ish thing to say really. when I finally wondered over here there seemed to be plenty of "regulars" that seemed like real "winners".
