Hopefully they can stay right there and get their guy

beane has done too much work to accumulate all those picks and not get "the guy".... 12 still doesn't guarantee one of the top guys. i would bet he's wanting to see this thing through and GUARANTEE their man. i'm banking on another move.

  2. wouldn't say it was an overwhelming success. i would say it was a moderate one. they took another teams unproven backup and then....

he won slightly more than he lost

we never broke the bank for him

    made the playoffs

and then turned said backup into the 1st pick of the 3rd round. which could potentially be ammo for the future franchise guy.

    i'm cool with it.

Taylor was part of the TEAM than made the playoffs BECAUSE Andy Dalton threw a 4th down TD pass with 14 seconds to go in their wee 17 game against the Ravens fighting for the last WC spot.

If you think THREE count them, THREE 3 point games is worthy.....

If you think getting benched in the blowout loss to NO and the benching for the Chargers game wasn't warranted, you are not paying attention.

The Taylor bandwagon is packing up and heading for Cleveland because he wasn't the answer.

If you honestly think his biggest mistake, after making the playoffs and still having a ton of ammo for a future qb, is keeping Taylor i honestly think you might have been further gone than what I thought. Geez man.

For me it was passing on Watson at 10. Even still I would have wanted them to keep Taylor and let them compete. We now know Watson’s obviously would have taken over.

And fyi... the bills make the playoffs becuz they did what they needed to do through all 16 games and the ravens didn’t. Why do people try to dampen the playoffs whenever they have to make arguments against Taylor? It’s lame and just not a very good look.

One other positive with Taylor being gone is the board won’t have to deal with irrational over the top views and takes about the qb position for a little while.

You agreed the point had merit.

Actually, I'll say that I was very excited that the Bills made the postseason. I celebrated more for that event, because of the moment and all that it meant.  However, I posted MORE on the TT trade.  Because it's implications to the long term goals of the franchise meant much more to talk about.

I don’t get how it’s being celebrated by some more than the playoffs. I just can’t get that. Becuz for me Taylor was gone regardless. It wasnt some big event. It was just gonna happen. It was necessary. It not an exciting moment

Then you can understand why ditching TT was celebrated more, no?

    It’s a stretch.

Unlike some I saw that fact that we could make the playoffs and STILL do what was needed at the qb position this offseason. I dunno why that’s so hard to grasp.

I am more excited about this than the playoff birth.

Way to get to the bottom of that caper, Shaggy.

See, that playoff birth was incredibly flukey -- and if anything, also somewhat hindered the Bills chances at landing a real QB, one that could give us 7-10 years of relevance and opportunities to actually be entertained watching football games again. So, while it was great to get that drought off our backs... I am much happier to know that I won't have to sit through another 90 yard passing performance going into the 4th quarter from Tyrod Taylor.

I'm in this to win championships and for sustained success. You can feel free to have fun crossing your fingers that Andy Dalton hits a miracle TD throw to put you in the Wild Card round.

Or I could enjoy the playoffs in year one of a new staff after the roster was gutted and realize we still had ammo to go get the franchise.

there’s merit in getting into the playoffs and the experience it provides. It’s lost on some people I guess. I was excited for the playoffs and still trusted they would be in position to do what was needed for the qb position.... those 2 things aren’t mutually exclusive.

I know everyone is on the Barkley train (I am too) but I really think the Browns best choice at #1 is (without a doubt) Bradley Chubb.  Get a RB in rd 2. There’ are plenty of really good RBs in this draft.  There’s only one Bradley Chubb.  Pair him with Garrett.... watch out.  Draft the qb at 4.  If they only love one QB in this draft, take him at one and trade up with the giants or colts to get Chubb.  Yes, Barkley is a tremendous talent....but so is Bradley Chubb.  Garrett + Chubb would be dynamic.

Really interesting take. And I see your point. I hadn’t thought about this.

it's time to let go of your anamosity and move on. it is a brand new day and the sun is shining.

    ;)

So it’s not ridiculous that this guy comes on and posts about how excited he is today about this trade but showed slim to none when the bills made the postseason? Right on.

The bills havin a new qb isn’t gonna make this guy or the others like him anymore likable.

Tyrod loves the short pass, Landry loves the short route, so it seems like a ton of 0-3 yard passes are in the cards.

That would mean Tyrod has to, you know, actually throw the ball for it to happen though, which is always a big question mark ?

Also, Gordon won't last half the season before he's suspended again.

Plus, even if he can last, who's to say he's anywhere near as good as he was? The dude has not played in years, although he is only like 26.

Gordon played the last 5 games of last year and averaged nearly 70 yds a game with kizer behind center. He’s gonna be just fine.

The Browns upgraded big time at the QB position. TT is way better than Kizer.

Where I am surprised is how much they gave up. I didn’t think the Bills would get a 3rd rounder, nevertheless the 1st pick of the 3rd round

I think it was just the fact that they had soooo much ammo in the draft they felt they could go a little higher than his value. I mean they made that move, Instantly found a steady qb and STILL have a ton of early picks. I think they probably knew they were giving up a bit too much.

And honestly.... after how gordon looked last year and now having Landry I bet you think thought If they nabbed a dude like Taylor they could really start winning some games. When the draft is over he’s gonna have the most talented offense he’s ever had around him.

    Please don’t get nasty

people have been waiting one or more years to move on.

This trade enforces the belief that McDermott and Beane are very committed to improving the Buffalo Bills.

    Why shouldnt we be happy?

Be happy. I’m happy we got a good deal. But it’s sad to me that I’m seeing more celebration as a result of the trade yesterday from a good amount of people on here than I saw back in January.

  12. Speaking of adorable, OP.... What’s adorable(I actually mean pathetic) is a certain handful of posters celebrating yesterday more than the playoff birth back in January.

All the the same people that are jumping for joy were the annoying downers 2 months ago making every excuse in the book as to why the bills made the postseason and how it wasn’t a big deal.  Its honestly pretty pathetic.

....all that being said it was a really good move. 1st pick of the third? Wow. Never thought he would draw that.
