In looking back, I never should have had a 3rd option
I disagree. You 100% should have the 3rd option. It’s a solid indicator of people with an even head on their shoulders and gives me a little faith for the fan base not all be obnoxious know-it-all’s on one extreme side or the other.

it’s too bad the small percentage that “know” he’s gonna bust also happen to be the most active in this post.
.... it makes for some awful takes and just the most obnoxious know-it-all rhetoric throughout a whole thread. Good lord.
Is this everyone’s first draft? How many do you need to see that have flops and steals for you few to realize anyone that pretends to know a guy is gonna bust, or be the demise of the regimine, makes you look like a complete idiot.

Woulda been a much better “lamp” post if you were announcing you would do it anyways.

Yup. Trading up for a project QB always works out. Happens regularly. Clearly they know nothing about offense. And Arizona is laughing.
Right. Clearly...... give me a break dude.

Agreed it’s stupid to say something one way or the other. I do think you should pay attention to evidence. And IMO, has the most evidence to not be successful as any top 10 qb since Blaine Gabbert.
Also, for a guy with a cannon, he’d probably like Sammy to throw to. Oh well.
He was my least favorite out of the 4. But this FO has done a lot of “right” so far. Why stop trusting them now? Do people think that beane doesn’t know his job is probably tied to this? I’m sure he freaking knows.
I totally understand not agreeing with the pick but people on here saying they know he’s gonna bust and that this will be what sinks the ship honestly are just moronic.

Blaine Gabbert
Alex Smith going 20 picks before Rodgers
Romo not getting drafted
Russell Wilson going in the 3rd
Brady in the 6th
quinn, Manziel, Weeden, Russell, etc going in the 1st
yeah, who could ever question nfl experts???
and I do feel about hating on the guy. It’s nothing personal but he was the last of the big qbs I wanted. I was forced to watch the draft with my girlfriend, who’s only contribution has been saying Allen was somewhat cute. I need to vent or I’d ?
Your post quite literally proves that anyone in here PRETENDING to know this pick is huge mistake looks like an idiot.
I always laugh when people talk about these young qb in absolutes.

people view the crotch grab as a bad thing?

The move the Jets made weeks ago could have been "the move" of this draft. If Darnold doesn't go to the Browns, and Mayfield doesn't go to the Jets, the Bills are SOL.
Rosen is the ONLY answer to our QB problem of the last couple decades.
it blows my mind there are people like this...
anytime anyone can act like they KNOW something like this I just have to laugh.

Brian banks always comes to my mind when I see stuff like this. Former USC blue chip LB. convicted of rape. Wastes his prime in prison for FIVE FREAKING YEARS and then “victim” admits it was made up.
What a horrible thing to do. Just awful.

I never said they were BASING their pick off of that, I said they were waiting to reveal their pick so that they have more control and other teams have less reaction time.
fair enough... I don't care enough to continue.

It makes total sense. No one knows WHICH QB they are taking. You think which one they take has nothing to do with what happens the next 2 picks?!
jets are taking a qb. that has no bearing on the browns pick at 4. so this comes down to if you think the giants would take darnold at 2 or one of the elite non qb's..... and if the browns are basing their decision on taking darnold off of that and maybe getting their pick of the litter at non-qb positions at 4 that's just silly.
there's really no need for all this mystery.

Sure, because they also have pick #4. Why give anyone extra time to prepare?
they've been vocal about taking qb at 1. at that point that has nothing to do with the 4 pick. that makes no sense. teams know they are taking a qb.
the real monkey wrench in all this is being held by the giants.

Either way I don't think it matters. Rosen will be available at 5 as long as the Giants don't take a QB. I would be really really surprised if they did. Would be a slap in the face to Eli and the previous coach just got fired for that
this is where i'm at as well... IMO the giants aren't going qb no matter who is there. so it means rosen is most likely the one sitting at 5. works for me.

uh, why...... its the first pick of the draft. there's no screen necessary is there?

while I would be disappointed if we didn't nab Mayfield, darnold or rosen. i'm fairly certain I can talk myself into be okay with any of the top 6 guys. pro's and cons to any of those situations.
so while i'd be fairly irritated, the fan in me could convince myself to fall in love with any of them by summer time.

Punts are, in fact, turnovers.
You are literally giving the ball to the other team.
Right. Throwing a pick in your own territory or even at mid field is the equivalent of punting and giving your defense some field to work with. Gotchya
cool story, bruh.

Going from bad to the textbook defenition of outright average is technically an improvement, but not a success. I want better then average, and TT is average. Precious little terrible, precious little amazing. We've finally outgrown that, Cleveland hasn't. They will be thrilled when he gets them to 8-8 eventually, then they will move on like we did.
How exactly have we outgrown it. We are literally in the same boat as them right now at the qb position, if not worse. They have an average qb as a bridge and the pick of the litter this week. We have an unproven bridge and are at the mercy of others picks next week. Is it gonna surprise you if their qb situation is better than ours in 2 or 3 years?
Lets not pretend like the browns are viewing Taylor as anything more than a stop gap. Same thing we are doing with McCarron.

I get fairly "nervy" during games and it makes sleeping very difficult..... so I would be ok with just 1...... hopefully against an awful team.

Waterford pa resident here, just 5 min south of erie....... I absolutely hate snow. don't like first snow of the year. don't need it on Christmas. don't do any snow sports...... but at this point i'd be really annoyed if we ended this winter just 1 inch shy of the record.
lets just go get that sucker!

I know it's all opinion based but I would take a Ray Lewis over a Polamalu or Revis anyday of the week. Most LB'ers life time in the NFL is 2X longer than a secondary player.
for me its a bit closer than you make it out. but i'd be fine with lewis too.... I had to sit through a lot of steeler ball over the years and I think polamalu had every bit the impact that lewis did on the field.... but you make a great point about longevity and that cant be overlooked. becuz everytime you mention troy, you have to when it with, "when he was on the field". his style of play wasn't conducive to longevity or health in general. haha. he missed stretches of time and ultimately didn't sustain a really long career.
-
i know this is kind of off the beaten path but living on the outskirts of "stiller" country I saw a whole lot of polumalu and the difference in the whole defensive unit when he was on the field vs. not on the field..... he's arguably top 3 all time
I could really go for a complete game changer like that. making momentum setting/game altering plays at all 3 levels of the defense. having the GOAT at that position really would be an impactful dynamic.

I miss both of them. Seriously, I do! As for Dunkirk: I enjoyed watching for the Joe Webb Package, and enjoyed mocking it when it never emerged. I liked Savior Peterman's ridiculous obsession with a 5th round draft pick, and ridiculing the concept that anyone would think of Peterman as a savior somehow dulled the pain of that auspicious debut. So I guess what I'm saying is ... please come back home, Dunkirk and SP. (Dunkirk in his original incarnation, please; SP, we will welcome you back as the Particle Sun.) This board needs you. It really can't take another "what if Mason Rudolph is available at 22" type thread. It needs something ... outrageous. At least every now and then ...
Saviors obsession with the fins and how we could only hope to have our organization headed in the same direction as them always fascinated me.
..... becuz “next gen” stats

Last I knew Thurman was the only guy to ever lead in scrimmage yds 4 years in a row. Is that still the case?
