Shady is a no go in fantasy.

Shady won’t reach 200 carries this season, if he does he will be under 4 YPC. The Bills could have traded a guy like Shaq for a 4th rounder and got a fresh set of legs at RB.

Teams did go early on a lot of backs this draft so that may have ruined any plans the Bills did have.

I think this is an absolutely awful take on shady for this season. Time will tell.

And there it is.  Someone starts a Shady thread and here you are, coming up with another "take" for why he's about to fall off the cliff.  So damned predictable.  It must be tough to have to look at how dead-ass wrong you've been about McCoy and his value to the Bills.

    Happy 4th, dude.  Go Bills.

As I reading his long post I was wondering.... isn’t there a dude that routinely has crap takes on shady and is it this dude?

    Must be it is.

Considering I live 90 minutes from Gillette you'd think I would go to more Bills/Pats games. But I don't.

You couldn’t pay me to walk into that stadium. I havnt been to a lot of visiting stadiums but I’ve been to Cleveland, Pitt, and Jax and ALL were a better experience than the last home bills game I went to vs the pats. It happened to be just after Brady had come back in 16. Worst game experience I’ve ever had and it was in our own back yard so I can’t even freaking imagine going into their neck of the woods.

    NO. FRIGGIN. WAY.

You also underrating that Taylor was a competent enough QB to drive the train correctly. Peterman and AJ are far bigger wildcards by comparison.

oh dude. I've gone to bat for the former qb over and over and over again on here. so i'm not gonna bother there... an offense with an OC(daboll) knowing his players and playing to their strengths might just be a better one than one that had a better player but an OC that force fed him trash all year. in fact it wouldn't surprise me if the offense scored more points this year and I still think the old qb is a better one than either of the veterans we have now.

I guess this is just all based off the fact you think the offense is gonna be horrendous. I disagree. I actually think there may be aspects that get better. IMO if the bills have a top 10 and aren't in the hunt i'll be extremely disappointed with how daboll and the offense earned their paychecks. if last year showed me anything its to not bet against beane and McDermott, even if it looks like things aren't headed how we like. I think we all remember last august when the "tank" was on.

Denver was 5-11 last year with a defense that was 3rd in total yards allowed, Chicago 5-11 was 10th, even Cleveland 0-16 was 14th. Jacksonville in 2016 was 6th overall in total yards and went 3-13. Just because you have a defense that rates well it does not guarantee wins if the offense can't put up points or stay on the field. The Bills offense at best has massive question marks and realistically is bottom 5 in the league as currently set. I could care less about what Daboll can do because at a certain point you need players to execute your scheme otherwise its just great idea's.

If you want to doubt the defense that's fine but saying they should be in the top half near Top 10 like I have said for months now doesn't seem like a leap given their secondary and additions on the front 7.

I think the offense will hold serve. therefore if the defense moves into the top 10 I see a playoff push..... and where did I say I doubt the defense. I said its a big "if". and it is. they have to improve quite a bit to get there. that doesn't mean I don't think they improve. don't be so defensive.

you apparently think the offense is in for some sort of nosedive. I don't think that's the case at all. its not like they were very good last year. and you totally underrate how bad dennison was and how much a difference it can make if you have an OC working on emphasizing his players strengths.

it wont surprise me one bit if the team goes 5-11 next year. also wouldn't surprise me if they went 9-7 or 10-6.... it would, however, surprise me if they had a top 10 d and went 5-11.

How is this a Tank? The Bills currently have one of the worst WR corps, no true answer at QB, and O line questions that have no answer. They benefited like crazy off turnovers in one score games which easily could've went the other way and would've been 7-9 or worse. This is a rebuilding year by the very definition where hopefully the defense progresses into a Top 10 unit and if Allen starts he shows the promise you want to see long term.

Could they surprise and be better? Of course. But statistically they should see a regression in turnover luck, they are playing a schedule that is tougher then last years by a lot, and the offense is a massive question mark which outside of McCoy should instill zero confidence in it producing more. I look at this season as the way the Vikings did in 2014 with their team. The talent was their on D and they took their time to break in their rookie which the Bills should do. It setup a superb 2015 year for them and more long term which is far more valuable.

I have a VERY hard time believing if the defense turns into a top 10 unit that they are gonna go 5-11 like you guess in the OP. theres enough pieces on offense and lets not forget dennison is now gone. I personally believe daboll will be better than him by default... if(BIG IF) the defense morphs to top 10 like you hope in the above post i'm expecting a playoff push.

IMO, I don't think Lawson has a chance to unseat Murphy.  They went after Murphy early and gave him a decent contract....makes me think the coaching staff isn't very high on Lawson.  Not that they want to cut him but I think they view him as a rotation guy....30-35% of the snaps.

I don't disagree. I just like the idea of a first round talent coming in motivated and in shape to try and win his job back. that can only be a good thing for everyone I think.

Great article on how the Bills FO and coaching are still behind the times when it comes to analytics and in-game decision-making aggressiveness.

Can you imagine McD going for it in 4th down like Pederson did in the Super Bowl?

    I cant.

Until the Bills have a modern approach to the game, they will always be also-rans. Here’s hoping our new analytics guy will actually do something this year besides figure out the best ticket pricing for the stadium.

you've been moaning about MCD since the indy game..... the dude made the playoffs in his first year with what most would agree was limited talent on the team. he's shown plenty of promise. I seriously don't get your gripe with the dude.

There was reporting after the  game that Joey  Bosa  said  " They didn't bock me " more than once  , which he found amazing. IIt also was reported that it had to do with Tyrod's demotion.. It was not a "popular " thing to the Tryod fans who quickly glommed onto the 5 interception fiasco and didn't want to hear any justification for Peterman as that would have been counter-productive to their mission to vilify Peterman.

bad lines screw up and let people run free to the qb plenty. I heard bosa's sound bite. I didn't look too far into it one bit.  anyone trying to say it was some sort of conspiracy honestly looks like a complete fool..... they also need to rewind the tape 2 weeks prior to the jets game and watch the same line let the jets d-line literally swallow up taylor within a second or 2, play after play after play.

My uncle and grandfather would send me bills gear to convert me. Dad's a Dolphins fan because they had pretty Jerseys. It all came together one year when I started following the standings halfway through the year, saw the JP Losman dick juaron bills pushing for 8-8 with a shot at the wildcard. They weren't on ever so I tried radio, finally saw the bills 7-8 playing 7-8 browns with a slim playoff chance if a ton of things went bills way. Bills didn't even win but watching all the guys I was hearing from the radio, I was hooked. Game was like 10-7 browns with the Bills running a screen on 4th and 8 late and the game. Didn't make it. And i thought "maybe they'll do it next year"

So no but I carried the family torch despite my dad.

I remember that game. There was a good bit of hype going into that.  It was a blizzard back in 07. But the teams recrods were actually a little better than you recall and the score was different. Bills were 7-6 and Edwards had taken the job by that point and the browns were 8-5. Score was 8-0. Awful game to watch. Lol. The kicker is the browns finished a very solid 10-6 and STILL missed the playoffs that year. OUCH.

I think they knew Tyrod wasn’t the guy, and maybe Dennison convinced McD to have more of a pocket style QB try to run his offense. I think some others with actual knowledge of this have posted as much in the past, but I won’t name names (because I’m not positive and I’m too lazy to try to find the prior posts). Or....I could be wrong. Again. ?

I generally like our FO, but that was a serious blunder for a variety of reasons. Ooops!

You are right. There’s a couple that apparently had fairly reliable info that there was a ton of pressure from Dennison to make it happen.

You obviously haven't paid attention to my prior replies in the thread, and just lump me in with Tyrod detractors.  I've said plenty in support of the guy and have repeatedly mentioned he is a middle-ground QB.  In fact, from just a few pages back...

But yes, by all means, since I'm not a full-blown TT supporter, I must be a detractor that hates him.  The irony is...you just perfectly validated the claim I made.

It goes both ways man. I’m perfectly okay with the move from the old qb but the minute I call somebody on their BS when they start spouting off about how absolutely awful he was they start throwing around the douchey “COT” acronym.

Ive literally prefaced posts by saying I’m ready to move on from him but I don’t agree with some over the top posters claiming he was a RB in a qb’s clothing and have gotten labeled as a lover or COT or whatever else. It’s absolutley absurd.

You'd be asking one to speculate by asking that question.

No one knows if things play out the exact same way in that Chargers game if Tyrod Taylor plays the whole way through, so it's really not that fair a question to ask.

All that can be spoken on is what actually happened, what seemingly changed due to Taylor being benched.

We all gotta remember why Taylor was benched in the first place and for the record I was very much in favor of the benching for Nathan Peterman as starter.

Do you remember the game against Oakland?

I don't think many people thought the Bills would roll into Oakland and totally shut them down despite what the records showed, but the Bills did.

Fast forward to the next week's game vs. NYJ, a team stumbling around trying to fight its footing, no one expected the Bills to lose that game to a 3-5 team, division rival or not, based on what they did to the Raiders the previous week, but they did.

Instead of improving to 6-2 and moving up the standings against a 3-5 division rival, they dropped the ball, and a highly indecisive Taylor was sacked a season-high 7 times.

Hence the decision to give Peterman the nod at QB the following week.

I really never understood why so many seemed baffled by the move, unless those confused by the move were outsiders who didn't actually follow the Bills, since the coaches and fans had grown tired of the passive, passing attack led by Taylor.

Things didn't work out for Peterman in his first start against a scary Chargers pass-rush as hoped for obviously, but still enough good seemed to come out that very bad game.

    1. Bills' fans found out that they had a young, decisive QB in Peterman, willing to put the ball in the air to make a play for the offense.

    2. The defense buckled down to shut down a high-powered Kansas City Chiefs offense on the road for a win, after the 54-point romping and never allowed twenty points in 4 of the final 6 games after allowing 88 points in the span of two weeks, 34 coming by way of the hapless, Jets offense.

I don't know if anything changes if Tyrod Taylor is never benched and Nathan Peterman never starts, but I know things didn't remain the same after he was.

Zay Jones even messed around and caught his first NFL TD.

    How about that.

-The old qb played fine against Oakland. It was a nasty rainy day and the run game was humming. He did just fine managing that ball game and extending a couple big plays. Namely the 2nd and 20 to Tate and the td to Holmes.

-he wasn’t benched after the jets game.

-Zay Jones caught his first td before peterman ever started the SD debacle

    - how the hell does peterman being inserted have anything to do with the defense buckling down the rest of the season?

    - And I learned some things about peterman that game but it wasn’t anything close to how you mention it in your first point.

That whole post..... it’s all just so bad and inaccurate.
