  1. Last year’s run defense was 16th in yds and 9 in ypc. But you’re right. They weren’t elite. But I thought we all kind of knew that. That doesn’t have much to do with this year. Hold out if you like but there is no debating that they have been elite to this point.
  2. … do i follow him around on this board? nope.... in real life?....
  3. what a douchey comment. its freaking message board dude. there are regulars and there is a front page where everyone responds... its easy to spot you in every single freaking media writeup thread saying the same regurgitated crap that you just said. good talk, Bruh.
  4. right on cue.... this is soooo your "thing". why do you always do this? you realize you routinely do this right? its so played out. i couldn't care less about barnwell. it pertained to the thread and i had saw it this morning. in fact i cared so little that when i saw it i didn't even bother making a thread over it or sharing it until hours later when i saw somebody else took the time to do so. … seriously. why is it your thing to always chime in with the same played out remark in these media write ups. its so lame
  5. i'll toss this in here.... https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27751910/nfl-quarter-season-awards-barnwell-picks-mvp-best-rookies-more 2. Sean McDermott, Buffalo Bills I've gushed about the Bills' defense repeatedly in recent weeks, and the duo of McDermott and defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier deserves tons of credit for molding a defense without big names into arguably the league's best. The Bills didn't come up with a victory over the Patriots in Week 4, but they were the most competitive team against New England this season by a significant margin. They're 3-1 with 36-year-old Frank Gore as their primary offensive weapon, with the future Hall of Famer responsible for more than 30% of the touches on offense. Even after last weekend's loss to the Patriots, the Bills have a 54.1% chance of making it back to the postseason for the second time in three years under McDermott, according to the ESPN Football Power Index (FPI). I have big-picture concerns about second-year quarterback Josh Allen, but the Bills have built a good enough team to win without competent quarterback play or the win in Foxboro later this year.....
  6. i don't necessarily think he'll make mistakes. i just don't think he'll make the throws to move the chains in those situations. this is easily the most complete and deep secondary he's played all year.
  7. you're right. our definitions are different. for me an elite player or unit for a given season is one that is regarded as top 3 or 4 in the league any given year. i think 3 of the 4 defenses you mentioned there are generational type defenses... which is on a whole other level for me completely.
  8. You can add not being elite because we don't get many sacks to that list...… meanwhile I saw the stillers and chiefs lead the nfl in sacks last year and they were open wounds on defense. E-LE-VEN POINTS A GAME. nuff' said.
  9. they allowed 8 points to the jets week one while dealing with 4 turnovers by our offense in one half. they've had 2 unreal performances this year and 2 other good ones. the defense is allowing 11 ppg. that's elite. they are 2nd yards allowed. that's elite. they are first in 3 and outs. that's elite. 3rd in turnovers. elite. and also 2nd in qb rating allowed... what more does somebody need to see? its a top 3 defense... now we just need to see how they finish the season. like every other defense in the NFL.... so i'm not buying the premature talk. if its premature to call them elite then its premature for every other defense as well. they are on par with anyone else in the league through 4 games. then I hope we aren't calling any unit in the nfl elite either. if the bills need to do it for 4 more weeks I hope you stay consistent and say every other squad needs to as well. i'm not saying your wrong btw. they need to keep it up. but through 4 weeks they have been an elite unit.
  10. Unfortunately they do include the non-offensive points. Take those out and the d is actually allowing 11 a game. Just nasty.
  11. Right. Attention to detail or thinking, in general, wasn’t real high on the list in my mid 20’s!
  12. Am I the only one thinking there may be athletes that have some faked stupidity on these initial tests? I’ve had one concussion in my life from a massive car accident and I honestly can’t say that I noticed any difference at all.... scary right? Lol.
  13. Ya. As I was driving and listening I thought myself “did it actually work?” Lolol
  14. How about a 2nd and that’s it. The dude averages 850 yds a season over his first 4.
  15. And rolling out to either side and trying to hit a select target 10 rows up. I heard on guys on the XM nfl radio the other day saying holmgren used to dedicate a portion of practice to Favre rolling to either side and chucking it into the stands for reps.
  16. Fair points. I would say that would have the potential to make this defense “generational”. I think they are already a top 3 unit so far this year. I would also argue the best defense in orchard park Sunday wasn’t the one that was getting all the sacks. The bills held the pats to 150 less yds and 1 less offensive point facing a much more productive offense than what the pats d was facing... but somehow the pats d is historically elite and Bradys crap play was just because of an “off” day. I’m flummoxed on that deal. The bills wasnt nearly as flashy but the proof is in the raw numbers. EDIT: with the addition of a pass rusher “generational” is a bit aggressive. But best in the NFL? Highly possible.
  17. I fairly certain they are top 5 in turnovers. They are #2 in yds... take away the 16 non-offensive points scored against them and they are allowing 11 a game. That’s just nasty. Tops in 3 and outs. If the defense finishes top 3 in yds and points allowed like it very well could how isn’t that elite? You seem more worried about the style in which they get there. The chiefs led the NFL in sacks last year and their defense was an open wound. I give no cares how they get there. If they surrender top 3 yardage and top 3 points allowed(the #1 standard of a D), I have no idea how they cannot be considered with the elite d’s... and again. They are among the tops on the league in turnovers i saw you talking about imposing your will on an offense earlier.... holding the arguably the best team in the nfl, that has been average 30 a game, to 9 offensive points and 225 yds isn’t imposing your will? You need to see a sack or 2 there to make that claim? I don’t get it
  18. take away the 16 non-offensive points scored and the defensive points allowed sinks to 11 a game.... that's nasty
  19. one of my members/workout partners here at my gym started 40 games for Kent st and got calls to be an UDFA but never pursued it. actually blocked for Edelman when he was qb…. he always offers me such good insight on the game. we've had some awesome convos about the "inside". haha.
  20. he was obviously excited... give him a break.
  21. 100%!! I just had this talk with a cowboys fan in my gym here. they have the pack this week and we were both talking about how much better that 4-1 looks as opposed to 3-2. ESPECIALLY after 3-0 starts.
  22. so its actually only 11 ppg then. WOW.
  23. lets not forget if you take out the 2 none offensive td's that have already been scored against us and our points allowed on defense drops to 12 per game. that's FILTHY
  24. again... we have a wr on pace for 1200 and another right at 1000.... and a rookie TE making unreal plays and getting 60 yds in each of his last 2 games. all this with inconsistent qb play. all these numbers around or better than your guys and you would never hear anyone come close to saying we have a stacked offense. in fact the bills have a top ten yardage offense. they just rang up 380 on the pats vaunted d. the only thing that has hurt this year is turnovers..... and STILL nobody is claiming we are stack on O. I'm trying to see you POV and surely cannot. i'll say the titans have a relatively efficient and safe offense.... stacked? no freaking way.
