according to the op, instead of them picking the guard from nd, the 2 top tackles are there at 21/22...plus they get a good back up(tt) and could probably turn their qbs into picks. we have 3 young guns with talent to drive each other and don't have to spend a ton on a fa qb or give up the farm. nate starting out the season does not scare me at all. maybe baker starts? i mean if your giving up everything except organs for rosen, you'd be expecting him to start day one. well baker can do that too and we have nate and chad developing. i've said before, i'd prefer foles, mccarron or cousins and keep our picks, but this thread is about trading up.

i've heard more than one source in the press from indy saying they will not trade. they want chubb...period. sorry i haven't read through all the posts yet, but i would be pissed to give all that for josh cutler. ....and at 21/22 you have the best 2 tackles in the draft so why wouldn't we just deal with the broncos and take baker in front of the jets. good effort though, more than i would have done. i 'll wait til fa gets going.

when it comes to fas's such as brees, cousins and mac carron, i think buffalo could be an attractive landing spot as they may not be all about the money, but a good place for their families, a contending playoff team and a chance to really make a legacy for themselves. i think foles falls into this category as well even though philly would have to let him go. mc beane just may be able to entice one of these guys. don't be surprised. i would rather they do something with one of these guys then get in a draft day war and give up the farm. other than brees, one of these other guys would give us 5 yrs. to develop future qbs....and nate will be fine as a frank reich type of backup. we may end up as a wc next year, but for the first time in ages, we will not have to use mathematical equations and prayers to get in. we will be solid. keenum will be going for the bucks, bradford will be looking for a more established coach and team (in probably a warmer climate)and daniels is a backup period.

the more i think about it, the more i hope that we address the qb in fa. cousins is not out of the question. foles is not out of the possibility and a.j. would be a great fit and the most affordable. then if we can get a vita vea, we can trade 22 for extra picks and really kill it. obviously foles would take one of the 1sts, but that's fine by me. we can still get vea or hurst and still have a great draft. other than gaines , there shouldn't be a high priced fa that we need to worry about. i hope we keep preston brown and most of the others will remain on one year deals. free agency is going to change this whole draft upside down.

i disagree . pitt drafted big ben and didn't necessarily have a loaded roster. they have drafted very well each year. as far as the race engine in the bug, i disagree again. we all knew ej was a project and didn't show much promise but yet we gave up way too much for watkins and some other moves along with it. at the time , i likened it to putting a paint job and fancy wheels on a car with engine problems. with an avg. qb last year we could have been 10-6 or better. we have what we need to contend for the most part now, but we're missing a qb who can play the position. i myself am against trading the draft away to get one of the top 3, but would respect/ expect a decent effort at getting mayfield. while my preference would be to get cousins ,foles or a.j. so we could kill it in the draft, if that can't happen, we gotta do something. i would rather take vea and rudolph vs. overspending, but if they package both firsts to move up, i won't complain....as long as we don't have to do anything but include a player. i wouldn't make any deal that involves next year's 1st or takes away from our 2nd and 3rd this year. tyrod did not/ has not gotten us to the playoffs. andy dalton did...and tyrod was an embarrassment in the playoff game.

Trade Scenario Depending on the NY Giants
billsredneck1 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i tend to agree. i would love to be able to use each pick. the first 2 for me is vita vea and mason rudolph. assuming that the decent free agents have all found homes, i would also take a qb later....such as a white, lauletta or ferguson. roll with nate and a couple of young guys and let the process play out. however, i would rather throw my last pick to denver for kelly. sooner or later he will emerge. i also have confidence in nate's development. i think he can give us an alex smith type of year, especially with a healthy receiving corp to go through camp with. -
and they really don't need to do a lot as far as filling holes in fa. i'd like to keep gaines, get a vet rt, maybe someone for the dline and possibly a deep threat wr. for the ones we have, i believe they are mostly on one year deals anyway and i think we could retain most keeping it that way. it's awful hard to argue against having cousins. i think buffalo would be a great move for him and his family...vs. az. denver, cle. and especially n.y.c.

Trade Scenario Depending on the NY Giants
billsredneck1 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
like 26 said, right now it's futile. cousins, mc carron, bradford, keenum and bridgewater, plus others will find landing spots and hopefully with teams in front of us such as cle., jets and broncos. arizona is as much in play as well. there's 4 teams right there with plenty of needs outside qb. i'm hoping this pushes mayfield into easily reachable territory. -
Rumor: Shady on the Trade Block
billsredneck1 replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
no way am i trading shady this year...especially if we have a young qb back there. i do hope that they bring in a very good rb2 though because last year we really missed that shady/td mike combo. as far as the giants go, no way would i trade up that far for darnold or rosen. i think darnold's gonna need 2 yrs. and i just don't think rosen would be a fit in buffalo. the only qb i'd trade up for is mayfield. like i said earlier, i think the whole landscape will change when free agency starts. i wouldn't mind them banking cousins. actually him , foles, or mc carron would allow us to really maximize our draft capitol. -
What comes first Egg or Chicken?
billsredneck1 replied to Ned Kelly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
getting a qb (which in fact we do currently have one) that can get the ball out quick will shoot the ranking of our oline way up the chart. my hope is for a very good fa rt. i thought henderson would develop into that, but something has to be done there. i think we'll be fine with groy this year. -

free agency could/should throw a wrench in this whole thing. i believe the entire top half of the first round scenarios will be changed when cousins and the others find landing spots. i think this may make it easier for us to get up to mayfield and not have to go to no.2 who knows who the broncos and jets may target in fa. i myself would do everything to get foles from philly and build the lines. we can still identify a qb later that could have success in the league. -
Trade Scenario Depending on the NY Giants

first, i can't see the giants passing on rosen. second, i heard an interview the other day either on wgr or 950(can't remember) with an indy beat writer and ex player who spent some time with the bills actually. he said there's no way they trade that 3rd pick. he said that the need for pass rush is so bad that they will not pass up bradley chubb. that leaves pretty much only the 4 spot for us to try to get to and hopefully the browns take darnold or allen. if we have no shot at mayfield, i wouldn't bother moving up. then again we may be set with a fa by then. -

my bad, i didn't get that far as i was pondering the guy using 20 lbs. of beef jerky for bait to catch a 500 pound bullhead in the article above that..... -
i'm happy for frank...and i'm sure he'll do much better for that team than that dbag jmac would have done. the colts got divine intervention when things went down the way they did, congrats indy.

Bears looking set to release Glennon
billsredneck1 replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i wouldn't be surprised . just heard him in an interview recently and he wants to continue and feels he'd be a good mentor. heck, he probably could have got us to 10-6 last year. -
