Far be it for me to tell our coaches how to run the secondary.. If there's anything they should earn out trust on, it's being able to coach up the secondary.. but for the love of Christmas, just let Tre and Elam finish out the season and see if they can gel going into the Playoffs. No reason we can't have a poor man's version of what the Jets have in Sauce & Reed. I say "poor mans" because it remains to be seen if Tre can get close to 100% by the Playoffs and Elam just doesn't have the reps yet.

The Waddle TD looked like more of a scheme breakdown. If I remember correctly, Edmunds saw what was going on, motioned to Poyer (who had crept up) to watch out for Waddle in the slot.. Poyer either misunderstood or didn't catch it, and Waddle ran right through the defense untouched.

Watched Jackson get torched week in, week out.. Only saw Elam get beat on one play against an elite WR room where Tyreek Hill made a great catch as Elam made a play on the ball... a play on the ball ::gasp:: did not know our outside corners were allowed to do that. Only guy I saw get beat was Tre when he was playing press man, minus any actual pressing. Although, outside that play, Tre was pretty good.

Agreed. There are no cupcakes likely in this years AFC Playoffs. If a non-1 seed makes it to the Super Bowl, they will have gone through a gauntlet. Titans, Jets and Pats are likely the 3 "easy" games, IF any of them make it... not looking likely at this point. Even Tennessee looks like they may get overtaken by the Jags.. because this is what the AFC needs.. another potentially elite QB.

They are overrated .. they aren’t as good as last year, but we may not be either. We may just have to see if the Bills can flip a switch in the playoffs like last year. We are developing a postseason pedigree, so we very well might .. especially when you factor in the willingness to unleash Allen’s legs in postseason games. As for the Chiefs - They still have Mahomes and Reid, as you point out. They still have a playoff pedigree. They’re still the team to beat, even if they don’t get the 1 seed. Until another AFC team wins a Super Bowl, they are the team to beat.

Love the dolphins forum - Bills won because of the refs?

Agreed. Its the big risk of blitzing like that.. Refs can’t call it differently just because a team decides to put their corners on an island in a big moment. -
Frazier & McD's defensive strategies a potential postseason liability

White looked good but got smoked on a go route for a TD. Considering they had two big plays, accounting for 50% of them isn’t exactly amazing. -
NFL Week #15 - Playoff seeding version - Chiefs @ Texans

You literally could not be more obnoxious in this thread. No, we don’t “need” the 1 seed to have a chance. What an absurd thing to say. Id agree it’s a big deal, but the way KC is playing, they could easily get bounced before we ever have a chance to see them. -

Seahawks and Bears are probably pretty equal given how Seattle has played lately and now, no Lockett… obviously right before they play KC. Bengals are a much harder game than Denver. Pats and Raiders may both have playoff hopes on the line, may not, final week of the season. Either way, LV is the tougher game. -
Frazier & McD's defensive strategies a potential postseason liability

I’m certainly not in love with the defense after last night, but the two big Dolphins TD throws were a miscommunication between Edmunds and Poyer, where Poyer either didn’t see or understand what Edmunds was conveying to him.. The other where White is playing press man and decides to put zero hands on the WR and they run right by him. -

SCBills replied to Matt_In_NH's topic in The Stadium Wall
No idea how anyone could not think that’s PI. It was abundantly clear.. Didn’t turn his head around. Made excessive contact with the WR coming back to the ball. Was flailing in coverage. The only other close call I can remember was a “play stands” on a deep McKenzie pass that likely results in a big Bills play if the ref rules it a catch on the field. -

Even with the Hyde/Von injuries, the defense has far too much talent & investment to have such poor performances against good offenses in big games. I don’t care that they can shut down the Jets or Patriots.. Cool, fantastic. You won’t shut down a good offense, but at least show that you can impose your will at times. -
If we must criticize, how 'bout Cam Lewis gets his share?

Unacceptable penalty for a guy already on a short leash (if he isn’t, he should be) after going for the INT over knocking it down against Minnesota.. THE play that allowed the Vikings to win that game. How on earth does a 3rd string spot duty Safety almost cost us two games? -

I mean, yes, it is projection. I don’t know what Diggs thinks. Im just giving a guess. I don’t think he’s a diva in hiding. I just think it’s warranted frustration at the cumulative offensive stagnation rather than an individual play where he thinks he should’ve been targeted. If I were him, and the offense started stalling, I’d tell Allen “I got you” as well. When other guys are making plays, all is good. We’ve seen him have decoy games and he could care less. -
Devin Singletary not scoring a TD with 34 seconds left

In watching the way the Dolphins played it, I think it was a semi-give up and just swipe at the ball. I don’t know that those defenders converging would’ve tried to tackle him short .. I think it would’ve been faux-contact with punches at the ball, allowing him to fall in the end zone if he holds onto the ball. -

These guys watch film every week. Diggs sees what we’re seeing through the lens of being a main piece of the offense. Doesn’t mean he’s always right. Doesn’t even mean it’s warranted .. as pointed out above he gets targeted a lot. But he knows our offense has been stagnant up until the first half last night .. then right back into the doldrums in the third quarter. In my view, it’s more a culmination of frustration we see from him at the offense over time than any single play. Do I like it? Not necessarily. But I get it, somewhat. Now if our offense gets rolling and he continues, that’s a problem .. but I doubt he would. -
Most likely. KC has a cupcake schedule down the stretch. Exhibition game today against Houston. Denver at home in two weeks.. who, yes, gave them a game last week but not going to expect much from them. Vegas to finish the year, in a game that may or may not mean anything for the Raiders. Bills/Bengals could be the game that gives us the 1 seed or threatens our ability to even hold the 2. Which is why people are crazy to be having an existential crisis about rooting for Brady today.

Yup. Offensive talent around Tua is absurd. On defense, they have Howard and Holland in the secondary, with a (on paper) talented DL. End of the day though… when games get real, this isn’t the NFC where you can build a super team around solid QB play. Your QB will have to play elite QB’s in big games .. frequently. -

In the end, it was the right move, but with the snow coming down like it was, I was jaw dropped that we played it that way. Couldn’t even see the ball cross the uprights… just had to wait for the reaction. -

SCBills replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed .. However, the Dolphins/Tua impressed me last night. Pats never really impressed me last year. I did NOT see that offensive performance in the cold coming. They did look a bit shook when the snow came down.. Hit a jump ball but then short circuited. We have the better defense, but last night was NOT a good performance by Frazier’s group at all. Dolphins have the better offensive talent.. might be behind only SF/Philly in terms of talent, but as we saw last night… Elite QB’s are worth their weight in gold… and we have the elite of the elite at QB. -

Knox drops are frustrating, but he is a game breaker when our offense gets him going vertical. Not many Tight Ends in the league move like him. Even with the two drops, he made our offense look dangerous again last night. -

I’m sure it’s frustrating watching other guys drop passes, not run the correct routes, not execute plays and then not get force fed the ball if you’re an elite WR. When guys are executing, he definitely doesn’t have that attitude. I get it … but at the same time, McKenzie was more open than Diggs on the play that triggered it… Allen just overthrew it on the run. -

Did Elam’s performance earn him another start? From what was shown on the broadcast, he looked pretty good. Gave up a contested catch to Hill.. more of a great catch by Tyreek than anything, but otherwise pretty good?
