Agreed. Maybe a WR is there today we like and the room makes more sense, but as of now, it looks like a purposeful omission when we go with Dorian Williams in RD3, as both KC and BAL drafted WR’s with premium picks. I still think Hopkins makes sense for all three teams, but you’d think KC will want to get Skyy Moore and Rashee Rice on the field given two years of high pick investment, to go with Toney and MVS.
-
The knock on Simpson and Henley were that they aren’t instinctual and struggle reading the play. We just dealt with that in Edmunds. Williams strength, fwiw, seems to be in his read and react processing.
-
Watching his highlights and hearing draft guys break him down, I like him as a player…. If we didn’t have an All-Pro at his position, along with last years RD3 pick, also, at his position. But maybe McDermott is truly changing up the defense more than we think.
-
Kincaid is not a WR … he will be used as one, but he’s not a guy we can reliably play outside if Diggs or Davis miss any time. Harty and Shakir are inside/outside guys. Sherfield is a big slot. We still need another outside WR.
-
Yes, obviously.
-
My main thought.. And maybe it’s just wishful thinking.. but, thus far, it’s notable that we haven’t addressed WR. Sure, we took Kincaid. TE/WR hybrid. However, that doesn’t change the fact that we have 5 rosterable WR’s at the moment.

??? Not sure what your point is. We all know Torrence slipped due to being a Guard only, and some due to his lack of mobility relative to scheme fit. The Bills normally value positional flexibility on the OL. They made an exception to lock down one of the Guard spots with a premier talent.
-
Bills are the poster boy for this. They are obsessed with positional flexibility on the OL. Doyle, before he got hurt, was being cross trained at G & T. Torrence also isn’t overly mobile. He’s not going to be a pulling guard very often. I think the Bills finally got fed up enough with the OL that they said “screw it” and took a guy who may only be a Guard, but should make the position he plays one that Allen doesn’t have to worry about.
-
Man… if Spencer Brown makes the jump, this OL “could” go toe to toe with the top lines in football. -Year 2 of Kromer -McGovern as a plus in pass pro -Torrence as a major upgrade to the IOL -Bates goes back to utility 5 backup -Still have Edwards as a backup IOL -Ike, Q & Doyle round out the depth The center-left side of our OL should provide reliable pass pro for Allen with Dawkins/McGovern/Morse, while Torrence and Brown should be able to maul people in short yardage. Just a fantastic job, on paper, from the Front Office in finally making it a priority to protect Allen, while also giving him some pieces on the OL and at RB that should take short yardage off his plate.

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
SCBills replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hopkins is getting traded or cut .. Who knows when, but I’d be shocked if he’s on that roster to start the season. It makes zero sense for what Arizona is trying to do, and Hopkins will not play nice. With the Bills, Chiefs and Ravens as the main rumored suitors, here’s where they stand at WR: Bills (5) likely rosterable WR’s Diggs Davis Shakir Harty Sherfield Chiefs (6) likely rosterable WR’s MVS Toney Skyy Rice Watson James Ravens (6) likely rosterable WR’s OBJ Bateman Flowers Agholar Isabella Thomas On each team, the bottom roster guys are on one year, sub 2M contracts … Bills/Sherfield, Chiefs/James and Ravens with Isabella & Thomas. -
We only have 5 WR’s Diggs Davis Shakir Harty Sherfield Only Diggs & Davis are pure outside guys, with Shakir & Harty as both inside/outside guys and Sherfield as more of a big slot receiver. Thought a guy like AT Perry made a lot of sense, but it is interesting to note that both Baltimore and Kansas City took WR’s. KC now with: MVS Toney Skyy Rice Watson James BAL with: OBJ Bateman Flowers Agholar Isabella Thomas

Some insight on Bills first round and how it went down
SCBills replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Coming out of the first with Addison, if all it would’ve taken is our 3rd (after seeing who we took) would’ve been my preference. However, it’s a 1A to Kincaid’s 1B situation. Very happy with Kincaid as well. -
I’m open to the pick .. the breakdown I heard of his instincts & playing style sound fantastic. I just don’t understand it, at all, after Beane commented on his role. And you can say “oh, well Beane and the FO surely know more than us”.. but the fans have generally been proven correct in their criticism when questioning some of these picks like Basham and (so far) Bernard.

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
SCBills replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
KC has MVS, Toney, Moore, James, Rice and Watson. Im sure they could still be in the market for Hopkins, but Toney & James were recent acquisitions, Watson re-signed for two years and they just spent premium draft capital on Skyy Moore and Rashee Rice. Certainly worth noting. -

We went backup LB (again) over a couple WR’s that could, at the very least, round out our WR room nicely with a young, traitsy prospect. Not sure if there’s any reason to read into that, but we still only have 5 WR’s. -
Im quite sure Torrence can handle standing still for a few seconds until Allen chucks it into the dirt while our RB looks around confused.
-
I mean, valid.. we have kickers going in RD3. I would’ve liked Dawand Jones, but it sounds like scouts literally want to fight him, so there’s that. Ika would’ve been interesting given our DT contracts. Would’ve liked a WR like AT Perry, but I sure wont complain if we end up with Hopkins.
-
He sounds like a good player. I like his description more than Bernard’s last year. That being said, I don’t understand what we’re doing at LB… at all. Bernard was drafted to be the Milano backup and/or 4-3 LB. Now we lose Edmunds, and decide to draft another guy we just admitted will back up Milano. Maybe Bernard is the MLB favorite? Has to be the reason, no?
-
Ok, that Beane comment makes no sense. Bills finally figure out how to draft for Offense and decide to be on some shenanigans with the DT and LB rooms.
-
All did. Kiper waxed poetic, then Booger, then Riddick.
-
ESPN guys are obsessed with it
-
Simpson getting killed for his processing and instincts … Sounds like everything we got annoyed about with our last MLB.
