Biden and the crises er challenge on the border

I’m sure they do. Thanks for the discussion. -
Is Joe coming out tomorrow to tell us it’s ZERO again? That should be fun.

Biden and the crises er challenge on the border

Again, we disagree. And it’s OK to do that as well. Something has to change here. Someone needs to do something. If you want to call it a stunt I’m fine with that. Abbott’s trying to shake things up. Nothing else has worked. This wasn’t his first move, or even his go-to solution but you can only yell for help so many times before you have to shoot up a flare. No? -
I’m predicting sunny and 75 here in Southern California, in case anyone was wondering. 😉

Here’s where we differ. I think Newsome NOT busing them out is political. I’d label Abbott’s solution as practical, not political. 😉 Only a politician, when faced with a problem, sits there and postures instead of doing something about it. -
Impact of Dobbs and Abortion Laws

I simply don’t understand why it’s so odd for legislators to get together and legislate? Is it really that hard? It used to be the norm. Now, they get together to do the easy things, like sending billions of dollars overseas to fight wars in far away places. What’s the old adage? “Can’t see it from my house!” -

This is how legislation is crafted Kay. A proposal is put forth and amendments are offered. Trust the Process. It’s long overdue on abortion. -

Sure! Let’s see if a woman can find a doctor who’ll tell her that her two year old isn’t viable! Sure! -

Trust the process doesn’t mean go running to the court to get what you cannot get done at the ballot box. But…we know that actually fits both sides of the aisle from time to time. -

The legislative process is a B word…isn’t it? It’s way easier to have an activist court just rule by fiat…..or have executive orders commissioned with a pen and a phone. 😂 -

Keep deflecting. Democracy lives…Trust the Process. No matter what the Red Menace wants you to believe. -

Everyone is always running for something Chef. Once again you can posture that everything an elected official does is political….and I guess to some extent/definition it is….but suggesting that Biden’s immigration policies aren’t real or that they aren’t impacting Texas is nothing short of ridiculous. -

The defining element of a democracy is NOT that you can do whatever you want. Were you asleep during Social Studies today? -

Losing it? I’m fine actually. Thanks for asking! One person’s Trust the Process is another person’s Defending Democracy….but you don’t really want to live in a ‘democracy’ do you? It only appears to suit you when you get your way. -

Like clockwork….somebody pushes back on your nonsensical Twitter posts and off you go! Here’s a hint: get off Twitter! You’re being manipulated by people only interested in making a fast buck. God Bless America! -

You’re missing the point, and it’s really very odd. What most people mean by being political is doing something contrary to your beliefs and positions just to score an electoral or legislative advantage. Some would call it being hypocritical or insincere. In the case of Texas, I don’t see how any of that fits. Are they taking actions to prove or make a point? Sure! But that’s not what the vast majority of people call being ‘political’. -

Oh brother. They’re both legislative bodies. You REALLY don’t know how anything works…do you? What the Right has consistently opposed is various levels of the court making decisions that should be made by the legislative branch. The Republicans, like the Democrats, are free to put up any legislation that they’d like. It doesn’t mean it will pass. But at least it’ll get some honest debate. It’s how our system of government works. -

Morning Chef I guess we’re going to disagree on what doing something ‘political’ means. -

Why are you so afraid of the legislatures actually legislating? Triggered much? -

Chef….now come on man! When someone says that an elected official is being ‘political’ it generally means that they are doing things just to get elected. You can’t really believe that Texas officials aren’t sincere in their concern for an immigration problem that they didn’t create but that they’re bearing the brunt of. Can you? On the other hand, if you’re trying to say that everything a politician does is political then your comment is literally pointless. Sorry. And I agree with Doc here. The ones being ‘political’ are the officials in the until now un-impacted cities who suddenly changed their tune when the impact hit their doorstep. Now THAT’S being political.
