  1. Yikes! That was a whole lot of back and forth about stadium funding…again. Here’s the reality: if Pegula pays for the entire stadium then he has to recoup that expenditure only from those who attend events there. If the County pays a portion of it, that expenditure is spread across a wider population base. And if the State pays a portion of it that base gets even larger. So….unless you want to pay THOUSANDS of dollars to go to a game, you’d better hope the base is as big as possible. That’s just the math of it all. By the way, as someone mentioned, that’s exactly the principle behind a school construction bond. It isn’t paid for just by the parents who currently elementary aged kids. All property owners pay into it. Even senior citizens who will never have children attend that new school. Even parents with school aged children who currently attend private school. Even parents whose school aged children currently attend a different school in the same school district. It’s not about right or wrong. Good versus evil. It’s just a means of spreading the cost of large capital improvement projects out over a wider population base. Now as to whether Mr Pegula owes the community a new stadium. He definitely does not. Just like someone mentioned above, when the City of San Diego put it to a vote the bond measure failed…and the Owner picked up the team and moved his ‘company’ to Los Angeles. Thanks
  2. I’m not trying to be political. At least not in the traditional Left v Right sense. It’s apparent that the State wanted to invest in this project. No?
  3. So your complaint is with the Governor then?
  4. No…it’s you who are playing with semantics, Mr Lawyer. In THIS case there would be no trial, no defense, and thus no verdict or crime.
  5. Again, I’m not a lawyer but if the statute of limitations runs out, then there by definition isn’t a trial. And without a trial or verdict you are considered innocent….no? Or as a lawyer do you subscribe to the Pelosi Doctrine where you have to prove your innocence?
  6. Ha! What’s your pre-draft guess Shaw…excited or angry?
  7. I’m not sure if I follow your logic here. Won’t the new stadium ticket prices and associated costs tend to weed out the twenty something crowd? So assuming that it does, I’m advocating for a football centric experience for those that will actually still be attending. Now mind you, I don’t see this as a fur coat and pearl necklace crowd, but more of a WNY sports crowd. It would be a ton of fun, building on the existing traditions, and be completely unique to the NFL. But… it wouldn’t be upscale restaurants and stores that’d be closed the other 355 days of the year.
  8. So Mr Lawyer if the statute of limitations has run out then is it actually wrong to claim you did nothing illegal?
  9. Think of it more like a Disneyland devoted to football. An all day experience in which the game is more like the headline event on the main stage. Before Disney created the ‘theme’ park all anyone knew was a bunch of carnival rides set in asphalt. But, what if you could create a similar themed experience centered on the Buffalo Bills and the NFL? Fans would come from everywhere just to be part of it. Super cool!
  10. Please tell me you’re not a lawyer. Obviously the defense is pushing for the misdemeanor! With the statute of limitations having run out it means the case is immediately dismissed. That’s not the least bit shocking or indicative of ANYTHING! That’s exactly what every defense lawyer attempts to do for their client.
  11. And then include super large format TV screens at even more sub-stages so people can hang around afterwards and watch the late games while the parking lots are clearing out. (Or the occasional early game from London.)
  12. Every stadium everywhere has tailgating. Think of it more like a big public park. Providing bathrooms and electricity doesn’t increase the state’s or team’s liability. It may actually decrease it. But how great would it be to go out there and have a bunch of local bands performing on well designed stages throughout the grounds? The bands get exposure and gain a following and the cost to the Team would be virtually nothing. At Cowboy stadium they have a main stage in a plaza just outside the large glass end of the stadium. It’s a blast!
  13. Exactly! So why not create the best tailgating experience in the nation with plenty of restrooms, electrical hookups, solar carports, performance stages, and parking lot based beverage/concession stands. This is WNY, not Southern California. If fans are going to cough up extra cash for the seats themselves, why not make the before game experience truly extraordinary at a price that your regular Bills fans can afford?
  14. I highly doubt that ‘other various amenities’ will ever be a draw in remote Orchard Park. I’ve said from the very beginning, if the stadium remains in OP then the design should include the very best tailgating support that the project can provide. Now THAT would make this stadium unique!
  15. I’m not sure how this particular project defines a transportation hub but I can tell you that just about every major project moving forward has to include something in consideration of mass transit and electric vehicle charging stations. This would be true whether you’re developing a new football stadium or a local elementary school. It’s all part of the new Green Code…like it or not. On a related note, when we attended the Bills game at Wembley Stadium we were utterly amazed at how they were able to move 80,000 fans out from the stadium in a matter of just a few minutes all using their Tube system. Incredible!
  16. I believe you completely misunderstood my comment. Yes, it’s a message board. Your ‘message’ has been heard, logged, tallied, received and delivered way more than once now. But you’re not offering anything new at this point. As regards to my expertise, you’d probably be surprised to learn that I actually share almost every one of your opinions. But as that ship has obviously sailed it seems now we leave it in the hands of the designers and hope that we’re all pleasantly surprised.
  17. Well you’re right about one thing. Everyone is sick of hearing your whining. It’s the very definition of a complete waste of time.
  18. Chase Brown, Illinois RB has the potential to be the next Ekeler.
  19. How about you let them build it first, and then offer your opinion? You just might be pleasantly surprised!
  20. I’d stop now if I were you. You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about.
  21. Is there ANY education going on at SUNY Amherst? Newsflash: you don’t have to be rich to go to Harvard. Almost everyone there is on a full ride. It’s not about entitlement, it’s about earning your way in life.
  22. In case anyone is wondering, the costs of a natural grass field and an artificial field are relatively comparable. The former has way more ongoing maintenance while the latter has a much higher initial installation cost. The payback period on that initial investment is generally in the seven to ten year range. That cost is relevant at the high school level but is more or less chump change at the major college or NFL level. Conclusion….cost is NOT a factor on the selection of the field surface in an NFL stadium. Playability and versatility are.
  23. Seemed like a well reasoned manifesto to me. 😂😂😂
  24. Let me guess: You prefer to reach for another DE? 😉
