Notice when we're not passing the offense looks decent.
-
Especially if you let Allen drop back to pass. He would rather run around in the endzone and take a sack rather than throw it out of bounds. Either that, or chunk the ball up in the middle of the field when all is lost and get picked off. I'm seriously worried EVERY TIME Allen drops back within our own 20.
-
Defense bailing us out again. I don't expect our offense to do anything with it though. Hoping we can at least flip field position in our favor though.
-
The Dolphins just want it more. We were coming off a bye lol.
-
Well yeah, it's not like our offense is suddenly going to become good. Josh Allen is incapable of learning from his mistakes. So any game going forward in which our defense doesn't constantly keep the other team in check will be lost.
-
Is the Dolphins defense a great defense? If not, why can't our offense do s*** against them? The Bills actually have a top defense, yet Miami's offense is finding ways to move the ball, mainly because they want it more. Fitz is playing like a smart, seasoned veteran, showing awareness, timing, accuracy, and great decision making, unlike our QB who is struggling against a weak defense...AGAIN. it's embarrassing on all fronts, but this time the offense isn't being bailed out by a defense doing all the work.
-
What exactly is he good at? Throwing deep? ? please... he's one of the worst in the leage. Playing like a RB? I mean, if that's what a good QB is, sure. And for the record, he's run plenty already, more than the majority of QB's in the league. Everyone knows he rolls right 99% of the time too, so passing on the run isn't effective either. What's he "good" at? Competing 50% of his passes, taking sacks, turning the ball over, and missing open receivers.

I hope people are beginning to understand why I don't like Allen as a QB. No awareness, almost incapable of learning from mistakes. At this point is his career, he should be able to tell had to beat an all out blitz, but EVERY time he acts like he has all the time in the world, cant find an open guy and takes a sack. And against Miami's defense of all teams... freaking Miami.

I'm not sure how many people have been following this, but they've been slowly unveiling the list since the beginning of the month, and now we're down to 20 names left. Only two Bills have made the list, OJ Simpson at #40 and Bruce Smith at #28 (unless you count Terrell Owens at #52). Not much, but at least better than the Dolphins currently sitting at 0 players. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl-100/2019/10/01/nfl-100-best-players-all-time/3785514002/ 100. Troy Aikman 99. Gale Sayers For the record, this is how they determined the list (using "19 current and former reporters across the USA TODAY Sports Network"): "While there were no strict parameters, the process for making decisions focused on the field of play and considered elements such as induction to the Hall of Fame, statistics, awards, reputation and the eye test. Each voter was asked to rank 60 players. Those votes produced a list of 170 names. A points system was used for the rankings starting with 60 points for the top player on a list down to 1. Ties were broken by using the highest single vote a player received."

I really hope this isn't a letdown game. Instead of taking it easy & coming in thinking this is a "gimmie" win, I hope the team sees this as an opportunity to pad their stats & put on a show. The defense especially should be excited. They should be frothing at the mouth to pile on the sacks & get some turnovers. On the offensive front, I really hope they use this game as a way to establish the run game and limit Allen's need to make plays himself. At this point, I'd just be happy if he could turn into a competent game manager over what we've gotten so far.

He's actually one of their most accurate pickers.

NFL Films: Bruce Smith & Von Miller (VIDEO)
BigDingus replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Now THAT would be awesome. -
So apparently Von Miller's idol is Bruce Smith. This is a pretty cool little video with the two of them together. Really cool to see such a great player like Miller take inspiration from one of our greatest players.

Also, here's CBS's straight up picks - https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/features/writers/expert/picks/straight-up/7 Everyone picked the Bills. Edit: When it comes to the fan picks for each game, the Bills have the highest voting total in their favor. 94% picked the Bills, 6% picked the Dolphins. In comparison, the undefeated 49ers playing against the 1-win Redskins had the vote split 92% to 8%, and the undefeated Pats vs the 1-win Jets had the vote split 88% to 12%. That really says a lot about how awful the Dolphins are considered this year...
-
Fortunately the same guy on ESPN who picked the Broncos to beat the Chiefs is the same one who picked the Dolphins to beat the Bills. He's also one of only two people to pick the Bengals to get their first win & beat the Jags. But hey, he also has the 2nd best overall record, so maybe he knows something we don't.
-
I mean, it's not surprising at all. I'm sure our fans will get pissed and argue how this isn't indicative of the player he is, and that in reality he's the one QB in modern history that's a great player while simultaneously playing like he has... There's definitely room for growth, but man does he have to get MUCH better to be a real franchise QB. Edit: Yup...after reading through some comments, of course people now are just outright dismissing PFF because they don't like what they see. Did anyone really think after watching how Allen's played so far that he'd be ranked higher than these guys? Honestly?

Mariota officially benched in Tennessee
BigDingus replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mariota could easily work with a coordinator & coach that know his strengths. He hasn't had much consistency and has been forced to work a system not fit to his abilities. Don't think he's a top QB or anything, but he could be a Nick Foles/Jared Goff kind of QB who does well within the right system (no, I'm not saying his game is like those 2 QB's though). -
The crappiest thing about being so bad offensively is the way in which we fail to take advantage of good field position. Allen turning the ball over is an obvious problem, but the amount of times our defense has flipped field advantage in our favor, or our returners have put us in good position, only to let it go to crap via taking bad sacks, penalties, turning it over or failing to convert a 1st down is so painful to watch. If we can start capitalizing on more of that, even if only with FG's, it'll help dramatically.

Bill Belichick is something like 11-0 against first or second season QB's. In other words, the Jets don't stand a chance, even if Darnold is the real deal. Also, that defense is stupid good and would give experienced QB's trouble. This is the same group that annointed Allen after struggling to defeat a handful of bad teams... People think if they HOPE hard enough, their optimism will manifest it into reality. Too bad we actually have to let them play the games to find out.
