I think this is the year for Ed Oliver
BigDingus replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he doesn't replicate Aaron Donald numbers this year, he's a bust! Or not... He's already pretty solid. Any improvement will be nice, but he's done well. -
It's also worth stating the evidence HIGHLY indicates that those who are vaccinated, even if they somehow manage to contract the virus, are exponentially less at risk for any severe symptoms, and very, very, VERY few are hospitalized. Again, people need to stop th inking the only 2 options are A) LIve or B) die. There's an entire spectrum of symptoms between those, many being life-altering & highly dangerous. You know what the vaccine prevents? Damn near everything on the severe end of that spectrum aside from just death. You could get vaccinated, be unlucky & catch COVID, but then just have mild symptoms & get over it. Or you could just get COVID without any vaccine protection whatsoever, and gamble with whatever symptoms, regardless of severity that you may incur. I'd prefer not to risk hospitalization or debilitating effects that I could've prevented. There's an inmate at the jail I work for who just caught COVID a second time. He passed on the vaccine because he thought since he caught it last summer he'd be good to go. Well now he's had 2 surgeries, had his eyeballs drained, has necrosis on his left wrist that almost killed him, and a host of other complications that came from his last stint with the virus. And guess what? Right before we sent him out to the hospital this morning for more follow up treatment, the jail announced we were offering another round of vaccinations on the 29th. I asked him if he'd like the paperwork to at least read about it, and he said "well I already caught it twice, so I doubt I'll catch it again. I don't think I'll need it."

I'm not going to call out Beasley, but THIS mindset is the reason why this country is ill suited to face a crisis these days. The way the US is setup basically ensures that no matter what major crisis hits this country, we will not be able to effectively solve it. In terms of just COVID, people act like it's either A) live or B) die. No in between, no nuance, no other adverse or life-long effects that can destroy your health. People who are now having to get double lung transplants certainly lived, but would anyone claim they're perfectly fine now? COVID only has a 1-2% death rate worldwide, but to think this s the worst it could get is just naive. We had the luxury of arguing & whining & playing politics this time, but when that number jumps to 5% or 10% or worse, what then? You'd HOPE people would get their s*** together, but it's obvious we'd rather tear each other apart & fend for ourselves. I'm not even saying Cole is wrong. But in an extremely capitalistic society where so many of people can't survive without each paycheck, few means to fallback on, our medical coverage tied to employment, an economy that needs growth & profits, etc. people will not be able to just hunker down, sacrifice their livelihoods, and stay home. Beasley can believe what he wants. He's certainly allowed to, and I'll support him as a player & person. I'm just sad that it seems there's little reason to be optimistic if a more potent virus, or ANY major crisis, hits again. /rant

Technically this could backfire with a lesser, selfish player too. It won't happen with Diggs, he's too hungry, but someone else now could miss games and lose next to no money each week. Why worry about $58k game checks ($990k over 17 games) when you already got the other millions up front? Again, I have no belief Diggs would feign injury or something.

Nashville? I'm more disappointed he's not from Knoxville now

I for one say keep the fans out! Josh did better without fans around. It was that lack of additional pressure that allowed him to play at ease. Now all you a-holes want to come back & stress the kid out? SHAME ON YOU! *Note: If I had any chance of making it to a game, I would not have this opinion. Since I do not, you can all stay at home like me!*

Lucky dog. Hope you have a blast! All my friends like tropical climate, beach-type places to go vacation, but Buffalo is my preferred vacation spot (as long as it's football season)! I'm from Northern Virginia, lived half my life there, the other half in Texas, but Buffalo is my spirit animal & destination spot. My wife thinks I'm crazy. I think she hasn't been to Buffalo enough

A Lot of Bills stars Were at OTA's But 1 Star Was Not .
BigDingus replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't care what anyone says, I'm excited to have Star come back. People have been dogging on him for one reason or another since he was first signed, and he basically stayed quiet. I think him staying out of the spotlight & the media, remaining so quiet, has lead to fans creating their own narratives of what it all means. Not being at OTA's just reinforces their predetermined ideas that he doesn't want to be here or something. Has Star said that though? If not, I fully expect him to be here when it matters. -
Does Gregory Rousseau need "redshirt" year?
BigDingus replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't worry, with our luck he'll suffer a season-ending injury helping an old lady cross the street. Redshirt away! -
Psssh... It's all CGI, don't believe NASA! The earth is flat!

Tbf, Clements was pretty good. We could've taken a QB the following years like you said, just never ended up doing it. It's pretty much what McDermott & Whaley did with Mahomes. Traded down instead, took a CB, & opted to get a QB in a later draft. Only this time the moved worked. But yeah, I hated how we were a farm team for decent DB's. Anytime a rookie panned out, we never resigned them. Drafting McGahee when having a Pro Bowl RB already was complete crap, as just a few years later we'd use yet another 1st round pick on another RB with Marshawn Lynch...followed by a couple years & ANOTHER RB in the 1st with CJ Spiller. That was infuriating.

1. Chiefs 2. Browns 3. Bills
BigDingus replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sure you'll get a lot of flack for suggesting that, but your reasoning is well thought out, so no issue there. The only thing you're not looking at is the individual development aspect of it. Yes, if all things remain the exact same among all players, & everything on paper is the exact same as it was in 2020 then sure, it all adds up. But if you throw in the unknown variables like Josh Allen's ability to still improve (as well as any other player's ability to improve...or even regress) then it becomes a much more cloudy picture. We simply don't know if key players like Allen can get even better. Same can be said for someone like Baker Mayfield, but most would argue Allen has a much higher ceiling. Diggs did wonders in year 1 on the team, it's possible he does even better in year 2 (even if not statistically). We don't know how all those teams' draft picks will turn out. Baker may be in the same system for a 2nd year, but Allen will now have Daboll yet again (something we thought was never going to happen after last season). Predicting growth & development is impossible, and that very well may be key to those 3 teams fair in 2021. On paper, if all things were the same as 2020, your argument is pretty reasonable. But things in the NFL rarely stay the same year to year, as you often see with things like strength of schedule differing a ton before the season compared to after the season. -
RD 1, Pick 30: Greg Rousseau, Edge (Miami) Public Poll Added
BigDingus replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are way too sensitive man lol. Way to overblow the tiniest thing & get defensive about it. Maybe re-read my original post & realize I never once insulted the guy. I'm sorry if he's your dad or something. The crew that drafted Maybin was a bunch of dolts. I'm not worried in the slightest. -
RD 7, Pick 8 (236): Jack Anderson, G (Texas Tech)
BigDingus replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tom Brady sure has aged well... -
And that's why I think it's silly when fans criticize the jumping through tables or the "BillsMafia" name in general... They've raised the profile for the team in a positive way just as much as the recent on-field play has. Yes, a lot of people think we're crazy, but they also know of the Bills now, know the fans are diehard supporters, think of the fun people have instead of "it's just a cold, washed up town," etc. The fact people are excited to come here, so much so that they're willing to dive onto a folding table & risk injury, just shows how the image has improved dramatically. No more "depressing & cold" and way more "high energy & excitement!"

Awesome video, thanks for sharing. On the flip side, I wish there were videos breaking down all the times a player (even the great ones) got beat or made mistakes, just to kind of see where their weaknesses are, or if there's a certain type of player they struggle against. Not to show how bad they are, just to get an idea of how raw they are or how long their development might be. Anyway, along with Anderson in the 7th, this is the pick I'm following the most from now on

Picked up as an edge rusher, short window of college productivity, drafted on potential, 1 good college year, etc. I'd say that's all you need. Looking back at Maybin's pre-draft breakdowns, he was highly touted and positively discussed quite often. Only the limited time with high production was brought up often. -

Hey, I'll take a young Incognito any day, as long as he can avoid the on field issues and the paranoia. -

BigDingus replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, we didn't get Mahomes on the team, so I guess this is the next best thing as a Texas Tech alum 🤣 But for real, I just want my college & pro rooting interests to align... is that too much to ask?! Edit: Wait, he also went to my HS? Now I NEED him to stick around dammit! -
Bad Luck With Clemson High Draft Picks
BigDingus replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I always forget how hard that is to read, especially "everyone once a response here go one have a blessed day." Ouch.
