Thanks for this list. That shows how much difference coaching makes. That's a lot of talent. As others have said around here, McDermott inherited a pretty good team - dysfunctional, but good players.

I think McDermott is way into their heads, and they're only drafting guys with that kind of attitude. True, they haven't won big yet, but they believe they will. I think what's happening in Buffalo is unique.

It's about culture. The discount is completely consistent with culture. Guys really want to be on this team. It's a special personal experience, almost like being in a cult. I said it a few weeks ago. I expected Tre to give a hometown discount. McDermott and Beane are selling TEAM all the time, and part of TEAM is the beat players playing for less than top dollar. Players want to be part of this team. They see something great happening. They feel appreciated. They see themselves in their teammates. Beane tells them that one reason they are able to build this way is that they have money to get quality role players, and they only can continue doing that if guys like White leave a couple million per on the table. When Josh's turn comes around I think we will see it again. Brady already set the standard, and I think we will be pleased with Josh's deal. Josh will see that after tax, the difference between 35 and 40 isn't such a big deal.

This is the important point. Allen has 10 to 15 years to be on top, and if it takes two more years to get there, so what? Ask the Pats or Saints what is like to have a top QB for 15 years. Definitely not playing for a window.

I'm high on Allen too. More people will begin to see it this year. They will say its because of the talent around him, but they won't be able to deny he is making the throws. He will be an excellent quarterback in all phases within a couple of years.

I don't anything either, but I doubt it. I doubt it premarily because rookie running backs rarely start on opening day. As I understand it, it's very hard for rookie running backs to learn the playbook because of the pass route variations, the blitz pickups and the offensive line blocking schemes. They get much less of all of that in college. This year Moss got even less training and preparation in all of that than rookies get in ordinary years. So if I had to guess, I'd say it will be Singletary. I'm not too worried about Singletary and ball security. He wasn't great in that category last season, but I expect he will improve. If he does start putting the ball on the ground again, Moss may push him, but I don't think that will happen.

Unless Covid messes up the season, i think by November it will be good competitive football. Serious athletes going at it. Playoffs should be the same as any season. It won't be an asterisk Lombardi.

I don't know about linebacker. Im not sure I know what a linebacker is any more. So I just trust McDermott. I agree about DT. Losing Star hurt. Like li ebacker, the position is getting blurred. They talk about Epenesa moving inside, about 3 techs playing the one. I worry that they aren't stout enough.
