  1. I saw that version of Spirit twice (Skippers Smokehouse in Tampa... "we smoke anything") and the 2nd time was his last show ever... 3 days later he drowned in Hawaii like you said. Sad times... Randy and Ed were so cool, they mingled with the crowd before and after the show... got the 1st album autographed by both and the Kapt Kopter lp signed by Randy. Hung out with Ed after the show at a picnic table... one of the most memorable rock moments in my life... I felt like a little kid in a way, just awed. I could go on and on...
  2. I look in once in awhile... You spend much of your life on this forum though, I don't know any of those people just like you don't know anyone here... we are just internet people really... who can type on something. I take it for that. Day and night... you are here. Just an observation, don't get twisted.
  3. You live on the PPP of a random Bills themed board in a niche section... all day and all night everyday. Regardless of what you may think your posts reach out to about 20 people in the whole wide world... who agree/disagree. Is this the life you have chosen?
  4. Mark Andes in the pink went on to be the bass player for Heart... and yes, they'll be knocking at your door... soon.
  5. Spirit was singing about it in 1970...
  6. Wow... had no idea, I still have the original ones. Not 1st pressings or anything like that but the way the book was written At That Time.

Jim Croce was a pop guy I can respect... this one actually comes around here. Had no idea his son was carrying on his music. https://www.jambase.com/article/a-j-croce-tour-dates-fall-2023?fbclid=IwAR29_QQhv4pz4uUK5W7UVLk6pLECCYMOmfbaCDkkT8v-Rzm7D4Xdqg8NZXU A.J. Croce, son of late singer-songwriter Jim Croce, confirmed tour dates for his Croce Plays Croce 50th Anniversary Tour. The 17-city fall trek will see A.J. performing songs from his father’s 1973 albums Life and Times and I Got A Name as well as from Croce’s 1972 breakthrough LP, You Don’t Mess Around With Jim. Jim Croce died tragically in a plane crash on September 30, 1973 at the age of 30. The title track for what would become his final album, I Got A Name, would be released the day after his death with the LP arriving two months later. A.J. celebrates both his father’s 1973 albums, I Got A Name and Life and Times — the latter containing the beloved “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown” — on the upcoming Croce Plays Croce 50th Anniversary Tour.
  8. Joey just said "the majority of gun owners agree"... I can name at least 100 that he's never spoken to... nor who have been polled.

  10. Are Twain's books Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn still in school libraries? I honestly don't know, haven't been to a school in decades.
  11. From what I've seen it is a woman who wishes she were a man.
  12. Joey wants to talk about chocolate chip ice cream... what a leader.
  13. Tell them that T&C has a 9mm 6' away from where he's typing this... and it isn't killing anyone. Your takes are so absurd that I get chuckles... so I'll give you that much.
  14. Is this the old "guns kill people" thing? Anyone with half a brain knows that isn't true... at all. People kill people. Like my butcher knife in the kitchen is going to suddenly wake up, follow me around, and then whack me?
  15. I'm going to assume that you are joking here... 100% agree. Yes- Going for the One Wall of Voodoo- Dark Continent Big Brother & the Holding Company - Cheap Thrills
  16. Steve Miller. After Fly Like an Eagle he fell off of the cliff. Those Capitol albums are gold though...
  17. But what did they wind up with?

Only saw him once... at Kleinhans in 1978... opening band was Echo and the Bunnymen. Had these cloaked people with red eyes walking up the aisles at one point. I don't think he's lost much, one of the timeless artists out there... enjoy enjoy.
  19. Never was a fan but this one is pretty damn good:
  20. Did you see your friend, crying from his eyes today? Did you see him run through the streets and far way? Did you see him run? Did you see him fall? Did his life flash by on the bedroom door? Did you hear the news came across the air today? Someone has been found on the rocks down in the bay Did you see him hide? Did you see him crawl? Does his life mean more than it did before Did you see that man running through the streets today? Did you catch his face, was it 10538?
  21. Solid intro to Janis... sounds better in mono to me. After Cheap Thrills I lost interest in her and Big Brother. On a side note... these Mainstream albums are pricey and they cover a lot of groups.
  22. We didn't do anything of note with all these picks... unpopular as in we still continually sucked. 3-24-1978 On This Day in Pro Football History: After 48 hours of wild speculation and rumors, O.J. Simpson was traded to the San Francisco 49ers. A weary eyed Joe Thomas, general manager of the 49ers, made the announcement. “This is the most explosive trade I’ve ever been involved in. O.J. is more than a football player. To me, he’s the hottest item in sports today even hotter than Muhammad Ali,” Thomas said. Thomas had been involved with other big trades in his career including the Paul Warfield trade to Miami a few years ago. Trading Simpson had been rumored off and on for about a couple of years. Simpson exclaimed, “Home at last. I’ve always wanted to play close to home but it never seemed to work out until now. I can close my career in my home and hopefully at the same time achieve what I’ve never been a part of - a championship.” In return from parting with Simpson, the Buffalo Bills received the 49ers 2nd & 3rd round selections in the 1978 NFL draft, 1st & 4th round picks in 1979 and the 2nd round selection in 1980. The Bills new head coach Chuck Knox was instrumental in the trade. “It came down to doing what we felt best for the long-range development of the Bills into a challenging team,” Knox said. Despite having surgery on his left knee to remove torn cartilage, Simpson passed his physical which allowed the trade to be announced. Simpson was the highest paid running back in the NFL having signed a 3 year contract back in 1976 which paid Simpson $733,000 a year. The contract had been a stumbling block for trading Simpson in the past. Bills owner Ralph Wilson was emotional over trading his star player. “O.J. has been first of all a friend. We laughed together in good times and cried when things went poorly. He made a contribution to football and the city of Buffalo that may never be matched,” Wilson said.
  23. And we aren't losing after 2 ... there is a very small window left open.
  24. Well, we aren't losing after 1 ... there is a very small window left open.
