  1. I'll be honest. When I saw a snippet of what DeSean posted, the antisemitism was apparent. Like I knew it was there but I had no clue what the quote meant. It sounded like some hair-brained conspiracy theory akin to the ones you hear about George Soros. I just brushed it off. I'd bet $1,000 that DeSean Jackson, himself, couldn't elaborate on what he posted, which makes it worse. Ignorance begetting ignorance.
  2. The coverage has been light? A quick google search and it pops up everywhere. It will be talked about on every major sporting outlet today, without fail. This high standard that athletes are held to is crazy to me. They spoke out on what they know. Systemic racism, police brutality, etc. against people of color. Now they have to be on the front lines of all racism and inequality to be taken seriously? Is this for all athletes or only black athletes? Admittedly, I don't know a ton about anti-semitic tropes or the argument of Black Hebrew Israelites. I fully understand that what Jackson said was ignorant, hurtful and that he should be disciplined for it. That said, I'm not sure I'd go on a Twitter rant blasting him for it.
  3. The post, on it's own merit, is reprehensible. No need to mischaracterize it as a Hitler quote. And I don't get this line of thinking. Were Jewish players vocal about Brees' remarks?
  4. Dee Ford lining up Offside, kept Pat from 2 straight Super Bowl Appearances in his first 2 years as starter. He has 76 TD passes in 2 seasons. A Super Bowl win, Super Bowl MVP, League MVP, has only scored under 25 pts, I think, once. It goes on and on. Mahomes is ridiculous! Your eyes aren't deceiving you.
  5. Brilliant structuring for KC to keep the cap hit manageable. Barring injury, Pat will see every dime.
  6. @Billl Nailed it. $503 million! Lordy lord!
  7. The Bills sold for $1.4 billion 6 years ago. I doubt there's a single NFL franchise worth less than $2 billion today.
  8. There's has be be player options in that clause.
  9. For those who don't know, it's not "The Black National Anthem" in that, it is only intended for black people. It's actually called "Lift Every Voice and Sing" and it's quite beautiful. "Lift Every Voice and Sing" was publicly performed first as a poem as part of a celebration of Abraham Lincoln's birthday by Johnson's brother John. In 1919, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) dubbed it "the ***** national hymn"[2] for its power in voicing a cry for liberation and affirmation for African-American people. - wiki page
  10. Revealing the truth about these men instead of hiding important details about their history would be a good start.
  11. Long overdue. I grew up near and currently live in the D.C. metropolitan area and remember Native Americans protesting the name back when Cooke was still the owner. I pay zero attention to those who oppose the name change. You're wrong. That's the end of it. I've always thought that Washington Warriors had a nice ring to it. Red Tails, as mentioned on page 1, is a great name too.
  12. It's fascinating to see one of the greatest wideouts in history, on a Hall of Fame run, fall from grace so fast. He may get 1 more shot but this is absolutely it.
  13. No. It can't. And I strongly dislike Roethlisberger. The insecurity around here is strong.
  14. I like Schefter and think he's credible, but I find it extremely hard to believe that the only other team to contact him was the Browns.
  15. Perhaps. None of us are in Newton's inner circle.
  16. I don't disagree. Da Bears and Titans should have been all over this.
  17. Cam has $120+ million in career earnings, not including endorsements. This is a pretty clear sign, I think, of how serious Newton is about winning and playing for Belichick.
  18. There's a lot of variables here. I'd say a single 1st rounder from 15 on, coupled with some later round picks.
  19. Right! The delusion on this board sometimes...
  20. They should be able to at least split. Assuming Cam is ready to go, Belichick is still Belichick. McDermott better be ready!
  21. So there will be no excuses from you if the Bills are, again, unable to beat the Pats, let alone for the division title? Right?
  22. Damn...kinda knew this would happen, but after he sat on the FA shelf for so long, I thought it was becoming unlikely. I knew Bill liked the thought of a dual threat QB.
