Woods was a #2 when he left Buffalo, Tyrell Williams is a #3 receiver for the Chargers. The #4 receiver if you include Gordon. Ekeler only had 2 fewer receptions, so he was almost #5. He wants to get paid like a #1, that doesn't make him a #1.

I think the risk here isn't spending the money, it is committing said resources for 4 years to an udfa who has had one good year as a primary receiver 3 yrs ago. Williams might turn out to be great or he might just be avg and overpaid for the next 3 years. No elite receivers in fa this year. Maybe bring in a veteran like Tate or Brown for two years and draft one in 2nd rnd, a lot of wr talent in this draft.

I have seen a lot of comments about how a space eater like Star does not grade well on pff because his job is to occupy blockers. I don't know how pff grades dts but I do know that Star is not the only guy in the league to play one tech dt in a 4 man front. I also know that however they are grading these guys, Star has been at or near the bottom of these one tech dts the last couple years. Pff may or may not be any good; but if you look at their rankings of the different positions, the guys at the top and the guys at the bottom seem to make sense and align mostly with my own perceptions. That said, I think Star is definitely a Bill for a couple more years at least and I hope he plays his role well whether pff sees it or not.

Thnx for sharing that, I haven't skied in a few years now but skied about 100 days a year for around 10 years in Utah. First few years I would work on the overnight snowmaking crew for a free pass before the season started, then get laid off when the tourists got to town. We had a blast flying around on snowmobiles all night, sometimes in sub zero temps. I don't think I could do that now. Best part was you got to keep your season pass and then ski everyday and make bank tending bar and waiting tables at night. I really miss it sometimes.

Plus Brown has played in the cold in college and the pros while Williams played in very mild winter in college and no winter in pros.

speedy John Brown will not cost as much or command as long of a contract, will stretch the field by outrunning almost any db in the league. Speed kills, and with an arm like Allen's the safety will have to respect that. He is only a year and a half older. Then draft another receiver in the first 3 rnds. I would not want to overly commit $ and length of contract to Williams, an udfa with one good year 2 yrs ago.
