  1. Considering we were on a 2 game losing streak and our offense crapped the bed the week before and got absolutely destroyed defensively, obviously unhappy with the team and with our offense in particular after the Saints game. 2 losses in a row = unhappy = desperation to right the sinking ship followed by Benching Tyrod (by many accounts at Dennison's request) in state of desperation = Worst half by a QB since AFL/NFL merger = OH CRAP!!! I'VE MADE A TERRIBLE MISTAKE!!! Is this really the dumb game we're playing?
  2. Not remotely surprising. I never thought we would get Cousins, but if this actually does happen... man... the only viable vet QB options left that anyone on this message board could talk about would be Bradford and, I suppose Keenum and Foles. Blah... Possible we hear that the Bills traded Tyrod as part of a larger package up to #1 or #4 with the Browns in the next month and a half so we can draft Darnold, but geez I think this is going to be another year of Tyrod vitriolic discussion on this message board
  3. Yeah... he's darn happy with 7 points if the other team has less. I think that's accurate. Although I was talking about an individual game us winning 7-0, which doesn't seem like what you brought up here and, by the way, is not even remotely close to a sustainable average for a winning team, so now you're talking about "averaging 7 points in the 2nd half" which is very different than averaging 7 points per game. You keep changing the discussion. McDermott is happy with a Win. It's that simple.
  4. Not gonna bother trying to track that statement down, but I'm sure, as always, that was mixed in with a whole bunch of other conversations. So I'll just put it this way... If we win a game 7-3, I think McDermott is happy. If we lose a game 24-26, I think McDermott is unhappy. I think there are coaches that care about an offense being "on" for entire games and those are usually offensive coaches like McVay and Pederson and also Bellicheck. I think McDermott, based on watching our offense just go uber-conservative with leads, doesn't care at all about how many points we score as long as we have more than the other team. That's what I think based on the 2017 team that I watched.
  5. Priority #1: Protect the football MMQB or one of those football sites (don't feel like searching for it, but it was widely reported) have reported that McDermott is practically obsessed with not turning the football over on offense. Obviously, that's Taylor's greatest asset. Now in this "process" McDermott keeps preaching, I'm sure he wants significantly more production as an offense, which is going to involve drafting a QB who can come in as our long term answer to execute the offense at a very high level. But in the meantime, he fired the OC from last year and brought in a guy who just worked with a QB who's significantly more limited than even Taylor is and helped get Alabama to a National Championship with that QB. Besides, do great coaches often come out and publicly and actually say they're "happy?" Does Bill Belicheck ever do that?
  6. Which explanation I've given in the past are you saying doesn't make any sense? I really don't know which you're talking about. Can you tell me the explanation and try not to give me what you think I meant? I've never said McDermott is happy with the offense under Taylor, as you seem to imply. If I've said he's happy, can you find me actually saying that? Lack of turnovers Contract that was built perfectly as a bridge to a drafted QB as it expires next year Last year's OC fired Now the one guy I thought was the most legitimate vet QB option for us has been traded It's funny that you say I'm thinking emotionally and not logically in this whole situation about whether McDermott and the Bills move on from him or not this offseason because I'd argue you're doing that yourself. I'm not really emotional about this because I want to upgrade over Taylor. But I don't think we're going to make the same mistake we did back with Fitz and EJ when we cut off our nose to spite our face.
  7. We've talked this to death and I've given my explanation many, many times. You disagree... fair enough. We'll find out soon enough. But I think you're confusing my past statement of "Taylor running the offense the way McDermott wants" with "McDermott was happy with our offense."
  8. It might not be an excuse for you, but McDermott strikes me as being very deliberate in his approach and I think he's still going to view this contract Tyrod is under and our ability to move up in the draft to draft a 1st round QB this year as the best scenario both short and long term for the team.
  9. I think this was another domino to fall towards Tyrod still being a Buffalo Bill for one more year as we draft our long term answer in the first. I have no problem if he's not, though... hopefully it's because we have Darnold or Mayfield ... or Luck
  10. Yes Cleveland please in a massive move up the draft for Darnold... or Mayfield. The Chiefs just traded Alex Smith... why do we have to wait until March to trade him or negotiate to trade him if we want? Why can't we trade him tomorrow? You do? The other team would be responsible for picking up his option at that point, right?
  11. Incredible... 4 years for $94 million with $71 million in guarantees. McDermott said he values a vet QB on the roster. Much to the chagrin of MANY on this board, Taylor might be around another year as that guy. The price of every other capable vet QB just went up.
  12. Super interesting clarification of our conundrum... well done, Shaw
  13. Sounds like we spoke at length with Mayfield. I wonder if McDermott sees his fiery competitiveness and thinks he can channel that for good. I'd love him or Darnold!
  14. So crappy! Behind Kyle wasn't Wood the next longest tenured player? I just figured he'd take over the "team leader" reigns with Kyle gone, whenever that is. Too bad. Hope he lives a long healthy life.
  15. Whoa! Holy crap! "High level business meetings," eh? Einhorn IS Finkle! I mean... twoandfourteen IS SaviorPeterman (and probably) IS DunkirkDon!
  16. Holy crap bro!!! Back from a ban and the first thing you wanna do is bump a week and a half dead thread??? Are you looking to get banned permanently? You should just keep bumping dead threads Crusher
  17. Well we're quibbling now. I disagree with a definitive statement like "it's definitely less than 50% he is back on the current contract," but even 25% is a helluva lot more than 5%. Like I said, we'll know in less than 2 months.
  18. Really? That sucks! On top of being basically next in line behind Kyle as one of our team leaders, he just seems like a good dude. Hope he can live functionally the rest of his life. Soooo.... is Groy now our center or are we drafting one high?
  19. You're pretty confident here, aren't you? Obviously, the proof will be in the pudding, but I would say the chance of Taylor being kept past the March 17th bonus date is more than 50%. This sounds like you think there's absolutely no chance he will be back here unless he takes a pay cut. Can we just have a little friendly fun? If Taylor is back without renegotiating after that March 17 bonus day, can you just p.m. me "I was wrong"...? I'll do the same for you if he's just cut
  20. In terms of what??? Talent??? The Bills may have less talent than some or even all of those teams, but they also might be a better team than some or all of them. That right there would be appealing to a QB.
  21. Shocking, coming from you Get better. That is all
  22. I mean... I literally have never seen him play and have just seen stats and projections and some descriptions, but Allen scares the hell out of me for exactly this reason!!! And EJ did it in college against much better competition with much better results. How the hell is this guy a potential top 5 pick??? Honest question, can someone convince us he's not EJ 2.0???
  23. Over-under on pages before this is locked??? 50? 75? 100? This **** is annoying....
  24. Honest question... is SaviorPeterman and Dunkirk Don the same poster??? Are mods here able to figure this out???
  25. I completely agree Dear Buffalo #Bills Fans, Your QB is, in fact a solid starter https://twitter.com/DerekCarty/status/956385226988687361 but... just because maybe we should keep Taylor for 2018 because the vet options really aren't much better, if better at all, we should absolutely be trying to find our long term answer at the position in the draft, assuming that this draft class is as top heavy as it seems to be.
