  1. I think Mayfield is 100% capable of starting from week 1. And in much the way he won the a starting QB job at a DI school as a walk-on, I expect he'd come in and be starting by mid-season if not from week 1.
  2. They were all drafted over a decade ago... ? Quick question: who are all the QBs of the NFL who will dominate the league for the next decade and be thrust into that "elite QB" conversation, if they aren't already there? Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson, surely. Matt Ryan? Stafford? Carr? Newton? Wentz? Goff? Prescott? Mariota? What do they all have in common? All drafted within the last 10 years. All started year 1... a few sat a handful of games, but all were under center taking fire by the end of their rookie years. It's a new league. What Kansas City did last year was the exception to the new norm. And they had the luxury of doing it with a pretty good starter at QB.
  3. I really really think 2 things are happening here: 1) Everyone watched Carson Wentz turn into an overnight superstar with the Eagles this year having run the same system and been in a pro-style offense like Allen... actually virtually the exact same offense as Allen against similar competition. and 2) Allen was very good (but not great) in 2016 and was being seriously pumped up by pundits and the media as being one of the headliners to watch as a QB prospect for this draft. He's obviously one of the most physically gifted QBs in years, so it feels easy to get on the hype train early. Pundits and media hate being wrong, so despite a pretty wildly disappointing 2017 season, plenty of excuses are being pushed for him, so much so that he's being propped up as one of the top QBs in a strong QB class in a way that I don't think has ever happened historically in the draft.
  4. Here, take the test: https://footballiqscore.com/ Tell us how you do and what relevance analogies and algebra have to playing QB in the NFL. Mahalo! I'd laugh, but it appears to be reaching that point. Rosen almost doesn't even look like an option to me anymore, unless McDermott says from the start he's going to sit and learn for a year rather than his consistent "competition at every position" narrative. I still want Baker Mayfield the most and Darnold the 2nd most. Considering my previous anxiety over Rosen in general combined with both Wood and Incognito retiring and the likelihood that we'll have to trade up to #2 to get Rosen, thus giving up draft picks we could have used to otherwise bolster the OL that would protect the statuesque UCLA product, I think I'd be happier drafting Jackson at #12 than trading into the top 5 for Rosen rather than Mayfield or Darnold. How old are you?
  5. This hurts. Staying put at 12 just became a bigger possibility. I still hope we trade up, though.
  6. Absolutely. Stop messing around with the QB position!!!
  7. Hmmm... wrong without exception, eh??? Tell ya what, since you're so obsessed with me, tell me the myriad of things I've been wrong on and we'll cross-reference with reality since, ya know, obsessed people are really hard to trust, especially when they're people who are emotionally or mentally stunted in development. Unfortunately, I haven't kept track of every tiny thing you've gotten wrong like you have with me since I'm more of a lemonade than lemon guy. But hey, we can work on this moving forward. Hey!!!! How's this Josh Allen conversation going, anyway?
  8. I'm tired... anyone else???
  9. Jesus. I can't wait 2 1/2 more weeks!!!
  10. Still talking about me. Weird. And a little sad. Sad because of some very obvious warped misrepresentations in your memory. Yep, I've been wrong about multiple things. Sometimes I've been wildly wrong. As have you. Our startling difference? I'm happy to admit when I'm wrong. You... not so much. Demonstrates that you have some stunted emotional or intellectual development going on over there. I hope you work that out, for your own day to day well-being
  11. I don't take him seriously... I'm actually flabbergasted at some of the ridiculous things he says. But not a lot of options at the time I drive to work with talk radio.
  12. The little I've watched of him, including those "all the throws" from the Boise St game I posted, just looks like a guy who's not a natural QB. And despite one of the perks for him supposedly being his familiarity with a pro style offense, much like Carson Wentz, he often looked pretty uncomfortable executing that offense, unlike Carson Wentz. Just say no to Josh Allen!
  13. Ya know what was insane that I heard today was Colin Cowherd propose in a mock draft (he called it his dream draft) that the Patriots trade up to #1 and draft Darnold. But the insane part was the price: Two 2018 late 1st round picks, two 2018 late 2nd round picks and the Patriots' 2019 1st round pick. That's absolutely nuts. If that's all it costs to move up to #1, I hope Beane offers that up to Cleveland today to ensure drafting the QB he covets the most.
  14. Who wants to wait? I sure as hell don't. I've been pounding the table to trade up for a QB for a while now I just don't think it should be for a guy like Allen, who, as Gunner put it earlier, might have a very high ceiling, but also has a crazy low floor. Trade up for Darnold, Rosen or Mayfield. Definitely not Allen. I definitely want us to fix the problem. I really don't believe Allen fixes the problem.
  15. Sure, but Prescott was drafted in the 4th round. The Cowboys used their 1st rounder on Zeke Elliot... and did you notice what happened to Prescott without him on the field? So if you're saying we can get Allen in the 2nd-4th round... I agree, very worth that risk
  16. Weird... didn't know the "I know you are but what am I!!!" comeback was still a thing Yep... pretty clearly you're obsessed with me. I came here to talk about Josh Allen, the substance of the thread. Instead of talking like an adult about the substance of your own post, which i I've responded to OR ignoring me, you continue to talk about me. Obsessed!!! I'm flattered 867-5309, you merely had to ask Sugah
  17. Hmmmm... maybe you're right... you aren't obsessed with Tyrod. You're just obsessed with me, which makes it appear as though you're obsessed with Tyrod since I used to talk about him a lot. Interesting... How cute
  18. Nah... with McCarron's contract and the draft pick we got for trading him in an offseason before one of the strongest and deepest QB classes in 3 decades, trading him was the absolute right move. This, of course, only assuming we draft a QB with our 1st pick
  19. Ideally, honestly, this is our target spot because we want Baker Mayfield. Seriously, I hope this is a sign of that. Personally, I think Mayfield is the best QB in this draft, but I think there's no way he goes top 4. And I think that's the consensus. So I hope Buffalo is preparing to trade up to #5-#10 depending on the situation for Mayfield. Get Baker Mayfield!!!
  20. If we draft Rudolph at 22, I'm actually okay with it because I like him. I like him more than Allen. It's just going to be a disappointment because we're clearly not getting one of our top choices. But I trust the process
  21. Yeah... I'd be doing friggin backflips if we don't have to trade up and we land Mayfield. I just don't think this happens, unfortunately.
  22. It's interesting you're saying they don't incorporate screens, dump offs or checkdowns in their offense. I went on youtube to try to see if any of those "all the throws" from any of Josh Allen's games were up. I found this one: By the end of the first half alone, I counted at least 5 plays where easy outlet passes/ checkdowns/ dumpoffs were incorporated into the offense, so your claim that "Allen is required to throw the ball down the field all the time because his offense doesn't provide him any other options!!!" seems less true than the fact that it looks like Allen likes to play Hero Ball. Just in watching that footage and what I've seen from him otherwise, he sure looks like he struggles after his first read. And damn, his accuracy issues are also real because he seems to wildly miss some throws that should be gimmes. Look, you've watched Allen. You love Allen. You're a Wyoming fan, so no surprise. Allen might be great in the NFL eventually. Problem is, if he has to sit for a couple years before he can really step in and be successful, you've eaten half his rookie contract after probably having to give away multiple picks to move up and get him. If we stay at 12 and Allen falls to us and we draft him, I'll get behind that move relatively quickly. But you don't trade up for a prospect like Allen. Or you shouldn't.
  23. Same old Thurm, taking a phrase like "I don't understand" for its denotative meaning rather than its obviously intended connotative meaning. And my oh my... you sure are obsessed with Tyrod. Seems weird you keep bringing up a QB of another team.
  24. Really good? 56% completion % for 3200 yards with less than 30 TDs and worse than a 2:1 TD:INT ratio is really good for a top NFL prospect at a small school against bad teams in college? Yeah, that's not "really good" when you think of a top 5-10 NFL QB prospect. Plus... ya know... he got worse, not better in college.
