I think that’s a given… But there are chunks of the season that go by, and you have to check for Oliver’s number on the field, because you rarely ever hear his name mentioned… For a top 10 3tech, who is supposed to be your passrushing, game wrecking specialist, to say Oliver underwhelms with greatness and overwhelms with disappointment, I think hits the nail on the head…👍

The comparison isn’t about the position they play…It’s to show that even the most mediocre of players can have flashes of good games…👍

Ed Oliver is the weakest link on our starting D line, and he NEVER makes a probowl- even though guys like Tyrod Tayler have made the probowl… This tells you everything you need to know about Oliver- that his peers don’t even respect his play enough to vote him to the probowl- and he’s not even regarded high enough, by the coaches, to be an alternate… Think about that for a moment…He may as well have been drafted in the 4th/5th round… Yet Bills fans seem to think he is a good player when he is, really, nothing but a JAG. Sure he flashes from time to time- But so did Trent Edwards and Ryan Fitzpatrick…Only difference is Oliver is supposed to be a top ten pick, and a guy the Bills, sadly continue to try to build around- why? Likely to protect Beane’s ego… I would have tried to upgrade from Oliver a looooooooong time ago…And our defensive line will always be held back so long as this guy is the anchor… Can you tell he’s my least favorite Bill? 😉

Also, if memory serves I thought we traded Stevie Johnson in draft day- after we took Watkins…

I say trade back to around 20, recoup the 2nd round pick lost in the trade with Dallas, and go BPA…chances are, it is still one of the guys you mentioned…👍

This is another way Oliver is holding our defense back…we could, potentially, be passing up better talent just because it doesn’t compliment Oliver’s limitations…smh

If Cook is elite then we should have no problem getting a 1st round pick for him…👍 On a side note… If I were Beane, I would make it clear to Cook that we really want him in Buffalo, but that cap restrictions make it difficult paying him top dollar… Therefore, as a show of good faith, if Cook doesn’t feel comfortable not getting what he wants, and can’t guarantee he won’t hold out, Beane should allow Cook to seek out a trade partner, who is willing (and able) to meet his financial requirements… If Beane is comfortable with the compensation, he should allow Cook to move on, through a trade, so that he can make what he feels he deserves, and the Bills don’t have to live with the headache of not knowing if Cook will hold the team hostage or not… No hard feelings, thank you for your service, and best of luck! 👍

I would see it more of Harmon being a more athletic 1 tech/3 tech, with the strength and power to hold his own…I envision he and Oliver switching back and forth at 1 tech/3 tech…

I don’t think we should shy away from Harmon just because he doesn’t fit the “true 1 tech” narrative… Bottom line- talent is talent, and definitely worth our first round selection if he’s there at 30… At worst, he would be an upgrade over Oliver…

Anyone but Coleslaw would’ve been fine with me…Just like with EJ, anytime a team has to trade BACK, to draft you (especially if it’s a position of need) it’s usually not a good sign… It either means the team didn’t think highly enough of you to take you at their original spot, or they settled for you- because the players (they really wanted) were gone… And what ya know- we are back in the same position this year…
