I think the NFL OT playoff format currently is the best system in the history of the league. I think they should bring the same format to the regular season with the only exception being there's a tie after 10 minutes. The ball has to hit the ground first before the kicking team can recover. If they change that rule it's not a bad idea.

The bigger problem is the roughing the passer penalties imo. Replay assistance should be able to overturn those calls by making the criteria for a call as objective as possible. What if you have historically bad offenses where it's like the hockey playoffs where they can go five 20 minute periods long without scoring? Not sure if that's a good comparison. Chase Claypool started his career with Roethlisberger in the final years of his prime putting up two 800 yard plus seasons. There was some hope that Josh Allen would bring him back to that level. Didn't work out. Shenault with the drops and the injuries had his role significantly reduced in year 2 with the Jaguars to the point they traded him for peanuts to the Panthers. I think he's here as a kick return specialist only but I expect Codrington to beat him out.
