  1. In simplest terms, the public option if implemented correctly would give people the option to buy into a government run health insurance program at a lower cost over the private health insurance companies that currently compromise the ACA marketplace. This would theoretically force these private insurance companies to find a way to compete with this lower cost alternative in order to turn a profit. They would be forced to improve benefits and/or decrease premiums. It would help middle class people the most who don't qualify for federal assistance the ACA provides. Unlike single payer, it won't force anybody out of the plan they have now or potentially lead to a decrease in "innovations and treatments." I like your optimism but it would be an exception to the norm if the party of the sitting president didn't lose House or Senate seats in the midterms. I'm pretty sure 2002 was the last time the same party didn't lose seats and that was mostly due to 9/11.
  2. - Agreed. The opposing party usually wins the midterms. Biden was the most moderate candidate in the primaries and I was glad to see they thoroughly rejected Bernie after it looked like he might have a shot early on. The Dems only have two years with a razor thin majority so my hope is they have to somehow get a public option through, make the tax cuts for us plebs permanent, lift the cap on SALT deductions, and increase taxes on people making above 400k all through reconciliation. Increasing the federal minimum wage and getting $2000 stimulus checks out are also possible. If they don't achieve most of this they're screwed as a party at least until the next most important election of our lives.
  3. No. I'm only mostly commenting on the sports section on that site from now on at least until things cool down.
  4. Could happen but you'd think Dorsey would want to be an offensive coordinator with a head coach known for his defense.
  5. It's difficult to tell. Ken Dorsey seems like the logical choice to keep the scheme in place but it's nerve wracking because he doesn't have a history of calling plays. Bills changed offensive coordinators during the Kelly years and they still thrived if it makes you feel any better. Brady's had many different offensive coordinators.
  6. You're right. It's so easy for the msm to suggest a president shouldn't tweet that the storming and degrading of one of our nation's most symbolic and important buildings is just what happens when they've stolen an election despite no credible evidence that's held up in court. Just talking heads those damn leftists and msm types.
  7. His base is so rock solid that if you even distance yourself or push back at all you have no future in that party. Unless, you're someone like Romney who has Mormon support who don't particularly like Trump.
  8. You won't get enough Republican support to remove him even if they invoked the 25th amendment. They've made that abundantly clear the last four years.
  9. Twitter deleted that tweet. I think.
  10. Generalize much? I know a lot of good people that voted for Trump who aren't crazy MAGA people storming the capital building.
  11. Did he get McBelichick's approval for this tweet?
  12. Mail in ballots will soon be the new norm.
  13. Hopefully Brady I was kind of hoping for Hillary to add to the reality show season 5.
  14. I agree. He held his breath by walking that thin line and hoped they'd win by a narrow margin. The only thing he could've done differently is found a way to get enough Senate Republicans to agree to the $2000 stimulus checks and pass that bill before this election.
  15. I would be less disappointed in this team than that team because we were the best team in the AFC that year going into the playoffs. We didn't have a team as good as the Chiefs ahead of us. Also, we knew that team had a short window while this team is set up for long term success. I demand at least a playoff win though or this season will be a disappointment.
  16. Rare tactical mistake by McConnell. If Dems do take both these seats you know Joe Manchin is going to be the most powerful Senator these next two years.
  17. Trump out of nowhere bringing up $2000 stimulus checks only to have McConnell not bring the vote up to the floor pry didn't help either.
  18. Is this smart? Can’t Cuomo at the stroke of a pen reverse the decision to let fans in? I mean. In terms of pettiness and narcissism he’s the closest on the dem side to Trump. I wouldn’t put it past him.
  19. I tell people who are very political this all the time. No matter who wins I'm still going to make my own coffee tomorrow morning and pry until I die no matter what color hat the president wears. Election integrity is the core of democracy. I agree. Instead of focusing on vote counting problems that could swing hundreds of votes in states (usually what they find in audits or recounts), Trump is deciding to gaslight conspiracy theories of voter fraud that are easily debunked. His supporters are buying it because he's an excellent salesman. That's my problem with all of this nonsense.
  20. They don't "pick" elections. They give a percentage of how likely x candidate is to win off of y candidate based on an aggregate of polls and other historical voting data. This weekend the Bills have a 76% chance of beating the Colts based off the criteria they use in their model. If the Colts win it means they caught a lucky spade to complete their flush on the river.
  21. How do you know? There could've been. How did WTC 7 collapse when FEMA reported little damage to the building if it wasn't a controlled demolition?
  22. About as much as 2016 when Trump won those states by similar margins to Hillary. The only real difference is Hillary didn't fight the results with frivolous lawsuits like Trump is.
  23. Oh please. Abrams was whining about voter suppression when she lost and still hasn't conceded. Both sides are gullible to misinformation campaigns.
