I'm a little late to the conversation here, but that was another great episode, in my opinion. I'll echo others in saying that I'm glad Kim didn't die. It makes way more sense for the Jimmy McGill character arc. He leans fully into the sleazy Saul Goodman life to escape the pain of being left by the love of his life. Who he is in Breaking Bad would make way less sense if, say, Kim had been gruesomely murdered. I was momentarily confused and taken aback by the Gus wine scene. The rationale that it was a window into his psyche by way of his repressed sexuality does make sense, though. The great thing about Breaking Bad and about Better Call Saul is that nothing -- not one, single thing -- is ever put into the show by accident. Every scene, every detail, every line, every moment has a purpose. The showrunners might be the most purposeful story creators I've ever witnessed. Very impressive. Glad Rhea Seehorn finally got her overdue Emmy consideration, and I can't wait to see how this thing wraps up over the next few weeks.

I watched that Tom Brady documentary, Man in the Arena, and in it, Brady said that he didn't actually start paying any attention to his body and nutrition until like year five or so. Hopefully, the same will be true for Josh, in that he'll soon realize the importance of it and incorporate it into his regimen. On the one hand, I totally understand that he's a young guy enjoying his newfound fame and wealth. With that comes lavish meals and knocking back a few beers. No big deal. On the other hand, for a guy who has such an incredible work ethic and who wants so badly to do everything in his power to be great and to win championships, you'd think that nutrition and body maintenance would enter the picture at some point. I don't mean to wring my hands too much over it. It's not a huge deal at the present moment. Over time, however, diet and nutrition could be the difference between a 12 year career and a 15-20 year career, and I obviously want to see Josh under center for as long as humanly possible.

I don't know, y'all. That picture of the Bills helmet with Josh's drawing of the Bills logo on the main forum is really raking in the likes.

The best way I could describe these alternate helmets is… Intimate, but intimidating.

This. Roger Waters has always, ALWAYS loved him some Roger Waters. Legendarily arrogant, abrasive, and combative. Same as it ever was.
-
Right. If he bulked up with MUSCLE, then great. If he's doing a Jared Lorenzen impression........no bueno.
-
I hope you're right. While it's clear that he works super hard at his craft -- mechanics, throwing motion, etc -- I've never really heard him mention nutrition or diet. I HAVE heard him talk about crushing wings and drinking Labatt's. Like I said -- probably not too big a deal right now, but over time, a good diet and intelligent nutrition choices will preserve his athleticism and lengthen his career.
-
I'm not gonna lie, Josh has been looking a little, um....HEFTY this offseason. He's a young guy living his best life, and it's probably fine. I just hope that it doesn't affect his speed and athleticism. I also know that taking good care of one's body and nutrition increases the likelihood of a long career. There's a reason Tom Brady is still playing so well at age 44 and Ben Roethlisberger looked so awful at age 39.

My dad was born and raised in Lake Placid and lived there during the '80 Olympics. He was at the Miracle on Ice game, and drank all night with Mike Eruzione and all those guys at the bar after the game. The town of Lake Placid has still never really moved past that game. They still, to this day, make huge tourist dollars off Olympics and Miracle on Ice merchandise. There are not one, not two, but THREE different souvenir shops specializing in Olympics merchandise on the main street in town. One of them plays the game on a loop on a tv in the store. Obviously it was a huge moment in sports and in American history in general, but it happened FORTY TWO YEARS AGO. But go to Lake Placid, and it's like it just happened last week. A little eerie.

Agreed. On the other hand, I suspect the change in field direction/orientation will help mitigate the wind chill factor considerably, as will the vertical stacking of seats.

I'm pretty obsessed with this show at the moment. It's so, so good. Well written, well shot, well acted. Just...really good from top to bottom. I hear it's quite anxiety-triggering for folks that spent a lot of years working in restaurants, though. As a huge Letterkenny fan, I was super excited for Shoresy, but watched the first episode and wasn't too impressed. I suppose I should press on? -

What season as a fan do you wish 2022 avenges for you?

This. My cousin and I have an ongoing argument. He always says he won't be satisfied unless and until the Bills win multiple titles. That's a fair hope/expectation, I guess, since Josh Allen is so good and since the Bills seem to have the talent and stability to field a dynasty. Me? I just need one. That's it. Give me one world championship and I'll be a happy man for life. Just one. All I need. -
There is understandably a lot of doubt about whether or not Davis can be a successful, top tier #2 WR for the duration of an entire season. Count me among those that has very little doubt. All he has lacked so far is opportunity. He seems to have an elite work ethic and tireless drive to succeed. He's big, strong, finds ways to get open, and has a great rapport with Josh, especially on broken plays. I think Diggs/Davis becomes one of the top duos in the league this year. My only real concern is finding a way to re-sign both Davis and Dawson Knox, as losing either would represent a considerable blow to the offense.

Between the scheduled bye and two games against the Jets, the Bills already have three weeks off as it is. What more do you want?!

I know, I was just trying to beat BADOL to the punch in mentioning Ford. I was hoping if I said it, he wouldn't feel the need to show up in this thread. So far, so good.

Not sure what topic to add this leaked audio of Steve Bannon to, but since it’s related to Trump’s overall corruption and his attempt to subvert democracy, I’ll put it here. I look forward to seeing the Trumpkins here continue to ignore stuff like this, laugh it all off, and pretend the rest of us are overreacting. And you all say the media, DOJ, and committee are the corrupt ones. Incoming laugh emojis and “let me distract from this latest piece of damning evidence of Trump’s corruption by trying to sidetrack you with an unrelated question” in 3,2,1…

The Patriots drafted Harry ahead of: Deebo Samuel A.J. Brown D.K. Metcalf Diontae Johnson Terry McLaurin Hunter Renfrow Any one of whom would be the current #1 WR on their team. Pretty awesome. In fairness to Belichick, Big Baller Beane drafted Cody Ford in the 2nd round that year. So....yeah.

Sometimes modern science and technology are so cool that my mind is completely blown. What an incredible image. If you ever need to quickly put the relative insignificance of whatever is vexing you into perspective, just take a look at this image. My goodness. -
From the Akron Beacon Journal: https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/news/2022/06/22/ashley-solis-lawsuit-against-deshaun-watson-alleging-sexual-misconduct-massage-unleashed-flood/9906153002/ Watson told her he did not want her to use her knuckles or elbows during the massage, like most masseuses do to apply pressure. Instead, he wanted her to use only her hands and to concentrate on his groin area, the suit said. About 25 minutes into the massage, Solis began to feel “extremely uncomfortable” because of things Watson was saying or doing, though the lawsuit doesn't specify what those things were. “It became apparent that Watson wanted a massage for only one reason — sex,” the lawsuit said. Solis was scared and a “bit confused,” the suit said. She wanted Watson to leave, but feared both for her safety and for her business. As she contemplated how to extricate herself from the situation, the suit said Watson “continued to aggressively attempt to steer the conversation to how (she) was not rubbing him the way he wanted” and several times directed her to his penis. Watson then exposed the tip of his erect penis, the suit said, and began moving his hips back and forth, “purposely” touching her hand with his penis. Solis was “shocked and mortified.” She abruptly ended the massage, asked Watson to leave and started to cry. Watson, the suit said, told her: “I know you have a career and a reputation, and I know you would hate for someone to mess with yours, just like I don’t want anyone messing with mine.” ------------------ You can play semantics if you want, but that sure sounds like he was attempting to force her to do something that she didn't want to do. At the very least, it sounds like the classic definition of sexual assault.
