ODB is a complete head case. And if the reports are correct Brown did not want to come to Buffalo. The choice between Oliver and ODB is not a choice, one was a free agent and one was a draft pick. Are you saying you would have traded a bunch of number one picks for ODB and ignored other things? Not me.

Can I ask what you are claiming then? They didn't see WRs worth the value; they didn't take them. They signed three in free agency. So you can't say they didn't address the position. Just because they didn't do what you wanted them to doesn't mean they didn't address the position.

You realize you thinking a guy was better means nothing as well, right? You realize these guys have a lot more data available to them and still it's considered a good draft if they hit on 50%, right? I would ask you to list out, say, for the last five drafts guys you would have picked in what rounds, and then we could evaluate your expertise. The point is this: they did not draft a WR because: a. they addressed it in free agency and 2. they did not feel guys represented value over other selections made. You disagree, fine. But don't pretend you have more knowledge than they do over the process.

The GMs in the league apparently weren't all that impressed with the quality this year as evidenced by how many dropped to lower rounds.

My point is guys get drafted based on the evaluation pre-draft. And a lot of WRs this year just weren't ranked that high. We'll all know in a couple years, but the OP thinks he knows now.

I think you do not understand the word prospects. Every guy drafted is a prospect. Some are more highly rated prospects, but the draft is an inexact exercise.

Fair point. Although some are possession guys and not the deep threat you claim we need.

Foster finished better as the season went on. That has never been suggested as a problem for Brown. You want to free up the long passing game? You give the QB protection, you give him a running game to bring safeties up so you can go play action behind them. Give him some underneath options so guys can't just drop deep to defend. You want guys that just run downfield. We have 2 or 3 already.

Tell the truth. You've been drinking this morning, right? Over 1000 yards? Come on.

Again they have at least two guys that can get down field fast in Foster and Brown, three if Williams pans out. You are placing way too much emphasis on second round rookie WRs.

You think a third round rookie is a reliable deep threat? A guy that's never played one down in the league. But a guy like Brown with experience or a guy like Foster who showed he can get open deep are unreliable? Please.

The WR class was apparently not highly thought of by GMs this year given where they were drafted. And folks around here need to calm down and realize Beane has a much better handle on these guys that any of us. They are focused on protecting Allen first and foremost. Then you have two guys in Foster and Brown with speed, underneath guys in Beasley and Jones, some TEs and RBs that can catch. But people yell about a #1 WR; as overused a term as franchise QB or lockdownCB.
