  1. That's kind of an indictment of the group I guess. what I have been seeing from Miller is he's just rushing straight into the RT, no real moves. Pretty much what I saw from all our D lineman against the Rams.
  2. We all agree they should not have called d the TO. But to say they had zero chance is flat out wrong. They had a chance to recover an onside kick. even if we score and the Rams got the ball back what do you think the odds were we stop them from getting a first down? Give how they shredded us all game I'd put it about the same as recovering the onside kick. McVay would not have just run the ball 3 times.
  3. I think everyone agrees that calling the timeout was wrong. I also think you should look up the definition of massively. I would love to talk to Josh about it. When he saw that he only had Davidson behind him to push, could he have simply thrown the ball away at that point or maybe just took off around end on his own.
  4. And what have the Broncos and Niners done with those 2 guys. Won anything yet? We get the Ravens we'll focus on Henry and Jackson will gag as he always does. Steelers could be tougher.
  5. It was going to be a long shot no matter what. I don't think there's any way the Rams don't make a first down when they got the ball back.
  6. This year at least you can take th coaching excuse off the table. Ruff is as experienced as they come.
  7. I think the penalty question is being evaluated more in hindsight vs. the actual game time. I don't fault taking the penalty becuase at the time you dinit know if McVay would go for it on fourth down or kick the FG. Taking the penaly takes them out of FG position. The real problem then is a defense that let's them get a first down on 3rd and 15. I don;'t think the sneak per se was wrong in that we have converted 13/14 going into the game. But when the alignment didn't have the two guys to push behind Josh that was a problem. I think everyone agrees they should not have called the TO.
  8. At this point I'd play Solomon and sit Miller. Miller is just not doing much.
  9. I think last night showed the Sabres problem is not coaching, not even GM. They brought in talented guys, but there is no one on that roster with any heart. They fold like a cheap suit whenever they get into a stressful situation. Last night was a prime example. If I'm Adams and Ruff I make it clear any guy that does not want to play physical hockey is either on the bench or gone. They need a captain like the Rangers got years ago in Messier; having Dahlin as captain is ridiculous.
  10. I think our chances were slim regardless. But I think we all agree the TO should not have been called.
  11. I think Gruden is much more of an offensive mind. Vrabel would be reasonable but I'd want him to keep Brady. I think the only way mcd gets let go is if we implode the first round of the playoffs and/or if Josh goes to Terry and says he doesn't have confidence in him anymore. If we play Jackson in the playoffs we'll win because McD knows how to slow him down, and because Jackson gags in the playoffs every year. Wilson and the Steelers offense doesn't scare me one bit. As for what Mcd's record would be without Allen, what would Reid's be without Mahomes? Or any other coach with a great QB?
  12. I disagree. I think McVay would have known one first down clinches the game and that they torched us with Nakua all day. He would have used his entire playbook, especially that quick screen they scored with to put them at 44. But we'll never know. We lost this game because the D did not show up. I was corrected by someone in that they could not spike because time had been called after the interference penalty. What I wish could have happened is for Josh to see he didn't have his normal set up for the push from behind and just bailed by either rolling out to try and run it in or just throw one over Cook's head or at his feet and go to second down. But even if that had happened it was still an incredible long shot to win. I don't think there's any way we stop them from getting a first once they got the ball back.
  13. Forget Belicheat. You want a proven retread and one that has an offensive slant go get Gruden.
  14. Should be another shootout. Their D is pretty banged up, and I'm fearful their O line will dominate our defensive front given what we saw Sunday night.
  15. Going into the game the sneak had worked 13/14 times this season. So it was a high percentage play. But when they did not have the two pushers behind Josh I wish he would have just bailed on it. Either audible and run some kind of bootleg, or just chuck it at Cook's feet and go to another down.
  16. The secondary did not perform well. But it is hard to do so when you are stuck in zone most of the day, and you have a QB who understands how to work against zone and had no pressure on him all day. People have been talking about coaching failures since Sunday night; the coaching failure was stubbornly sticking to the D concepts when they clearly were not working.
  17. D line had their collective asses handed to them. I hope pride kicks in when they see the film and they decide to man up Sunday.
  18. Yep. Brady has said if he had to do it over he may have thought differently.
  19. I started the thread asking if Josh liked the play. But you’re correct that it wasn’t truly the sneak they run; they usually have two guys pushing. I wonder if Josh didn’t like the play could he have audibles? Or maybe just take the ball and airmail it over Cook’s head to the left and line up again? I had suggested he spike it but was corrected because time was not running for the play and it would have been a penalty. So maybe not a bad call, but bad player management in that he didn’t have the two guys behind him.
  20. I’m wondering if Josh liked the play. Many say he didn’t. If so then I wonder why he didn’t change the play.
  21. Correct. Should have realized that. Thanks. Could have audibles then if he didn’t like the play.
  22. Oh wow. You’re the expert. Explain
  23. Roll out. See if one TE leaks open. Of if he can run it in. Or throw it away if nothing is there.
  24. Then maybe the latter is the problem. You don’t like the play but as a veteran QB run it anyway? Brady said today with hindsight maybe he makes a different call. But hindsight is 20/20. But Josh has the option there. He could have rolled out and thrown it away if nothing was there. So spare me your crap about no QB in history and the rest of your histrionics. If he did great. Just didn’t work.
