My guess is that they’ll announce they are going back to royal blue for the 2020 season (their 50th anniversary season). I think Ted Black kind of hinted at it (years back, before he was fired). I know they have something planned for that season, and it would definitely make sense if they went back to the royal blue as a nod to their heritage.

Some People should really read the entire interview (not just the headline) before commenting on what Beane said.

There were a couple reasons, I think. At least from what I’ve read. They have a new owner (Tom Dundon). He is VERY involved in the day to day decisions (and is even included in roster decision making from what has been written/said). He was really gung-ho about making changes - everywhere from the front office to the coaching staff to the roster. Dundon felt the team needed a culture change since they have the longest playoff drought in the NHL. Skinner was one of their longest tenured players. So I think they targeted him as a guy to move. Plus their new coach (who was their asst. coach for years) was rumored to not be the biggest Jeff Skinner fan. He fired their long tenured GM (Ron Francis) who was overly cautious about making moves (hardly ever made a trade) and hired the only guy he could find to take the job for what Dundon was willing to pay (Don Waddell). So that helped open up the ability to make moves. What really helped buffalo is that Skinner had a full no movement clause. He is from the Toronto area and Supposedly was only willing to come to a couple of teams (mainly buffalo and Toronto). So we got him cheaper than if there was an open bidding war.

That’s terrible. People are so mean. I legit feel bad for Nate. I honestly didn’t think he was any worse on Sunday than any other QB we’ve trotted on the field this season. But the narrative on him is already written, and it’s like a gang mentality at this point - just pile on. There were a lot bigger targets for criticism from sunday’s game IMO.

Yeah that was my thought too. That would suck! Their 1st is only top 10 protected, and as of now it looks like we could easily get a pick in the 11-15 range. I hope they ride it out with Yeo for the season. lol But even if they hire Q, their goalies still need to stop pucks and I have little faith they can.

Yeah, I ageee on Duchene. I really feel for Senator fans. As a buffalo fan I feel we share similarities with Ottawa fans - both being small market teams with loyal fan bases who have had their fair share of problems over the years, and also how both teams have had to be run on shoestring budgets due to cheap ass owners (thankfully we don’t have that issue anymore!) - so I can kind of put myself in their shoes. And what sucks the most for them is that there really isn’t even any light at the end of the tunnel this season (if they finish near the bottom). They don’t have their 1st round pick and they have some important free agents that may look to jump ship (Duchene, Stone, and to a lesser extent Dzingel). It could be a painful stretch for Ottawa these coming years.

It says that the video was shot was in Phoenix during their west coast trip a week ago (they said either the 29th or 30th of October 2018). It was definitely recently, because of the players who are in the taxi. Not the best look for Duchene, saying he hasn’t paid attention in their PK meetings in 3 weeks. Especially since the senators put a letter on his jersey and asked him to help guide the young prospects along... lol.

Cleveland is the only job he would consider? I wonder why. I mean, I know that’s where he got his first NFL offensive coordinator job. But other than that I don’t know of any strong ties he has to the area/team. He’s from NJ and went to school PA. I don’t know of any ties to John Dorsey, either.
