Wow. Lightning FINALLY called for an interference penalty. They’ve been doing it all night long. Edit - Well maybe the refs were song us a favor not calling penalties on Tampa... that PP was awful.

I feel lucky that it’s tied 3-3 heading into the 3rd. Tampa is all over us. But the refs are also allowing them to get away with an awful lot. Tampa’s goalie is their only real weakness. Buffalo needs to ramp up the shots on net.

They made some tweaks to the face off rules last season, and made it a point of emphasis to start strictly enforcing faceoff violation rules that were already in the rulebook. They havent been as bad with it as they were to start last season. But some refs are still more strict than others (like the refs last night...). It drives me nuts. I feel like I am always yelling at the TV, saying “drop the ******* puck already!”. lol

Oh, I totally get why he earned the call-up. I just wondered why the Sabres needed to call him up. Bogo was the only d-man I knew of that was potentially injured and they had already announced that he would be playing. But, They hadn't announced that Scandella would be missing the game tonight at the time of my post.

Glad to see Elie back in the lineup. Thought he earned it last game. Sucks that Sheary isn’t playing though. Wonder why they called up Pilut again? Precaution with Bogo? (but he looks to be playing...) i hope he can get into a game this time but I’m not holding my breath.

I was hopeful Steve Smith would be a big addition to the Sabres staff, and so far he looks to be working out pretty nicely. Our PK is much better this year under him. Im glad they kept Chris Hajt around (in a more fitting role). Always liked his dad and think Chris could have potential (looking at his success as a coach in the AHL and juniors). But I think he was probably in over his head last year. I feel bad for Elie that it looks like he’s the odd man out again. Poor guy has only played in 1 game in forever (and a few games all year). I thought he played well enough last game to earn a spot for Tuesday. He was noticeable out there on many shifts and (IMO) made a positive impact on the game.

Wow, I am kind of surprised to see Hextall let go. The Flyers finally took a patient approach to building their roster and I think it was just starting to pay off. I thought they were close to being a really good team If they could just get a goalie (at least until Hart is ready to take over) and possibly a better coach. But I Totally forgot that Paul Holmgren was still even there... and actually, I am surprised he has been patient this long. He was never once for having much of any patience.

Bills, Sabres and both UB teams! Won buffalo!

3 days and 3 straight wins for buffalo teams! Wins by the Sabres on Friday and Saturday, then a win by the Bills on Sunday. Couldn’t ask for a much better buffalo sports weekend.

Can’t stand Ramsey. He gets an int by shoving the WR out of bounds and then was saying “hey, you trash. You trash”. (at least that’s what it looked like he was saying, to me).

The Bills, if for no other reason than our team is stable in WNY and at no threat of relocation.

That is huge for this team and it shows me that they really are turning a corner in their rebuild. It’s been years since there’s been that expectation to win among the players. I have heard countless guys talk about it after being traded away - how there is an expectation to win on their new team and how that wasn’t the case in Buffalo. I just hope that feeling sticks (and I’m cautiously optimistic it will).

Not only that, the cost to play hockey can be prohibitive. It’s not like soccer where all you need is some shin pads, cleats and a patch of grass. Or basketball where all you need is a ball and hoops. Hockey equipment is expensive and ice time is even more expensive (so the fees to play in a youth hockey league aren’t cheap).
