  1. Not going to try and predict the outcome of this game because I really have no idea what to expect from the Jets. We haven’t seen what their new schemes look like yet, or how well all the new additions fit in. I dont really know what to expect from the Bills either. It’s a new season with a lot of new additions. I definitely expect a tough game. Darnold looks legit and they have some pieces on defense.
  2. Where did I use it to predict the outcome of the game? I was just addressing their public speaking and said McDermott inspires more confidence. And I even said I may be being s bit of a homer. Man you just look for any chance to B word about the Bills or their fans, huh? You know it’s funny... I was actually going to put a disclaimer, saying “I obviously don’t think this means we will win on Sunday” but then I thought, nah it’s not necessary. No one would actually think I was saying that... ?
  3. Haven’t look through the whole thread, so this has probably already been posted - I just watched both press conferences back to back and was struck by the difference. Maybe I'm just a Bills homer but McDermott just inspired a lot more confidence vs Gase with the way both handle press conferences.
  4. Dom Luszczyszyn (at the Athletic. Sub. Required) released his NHL win probabilities for this year and his computer model isn’t too favoring toward the Sabres. https://theathletic.com/1166232/2019/09/02/luszczyszyn-2019-20-nhl-season-previews/ (all NHL teams) 31. Ottawa 30. Detroit 29. LA 28. Buffalo 27. Edmonton His computer program has the Sabres as the 4th worst team in the NHL this year. https://theathletic.com/1166711/2019/08/31/2019-20-nhl-season-preview-buffalo-sabres/ (Buffalo Sabres season preview) This part art was painful to read and hammers home just how bad the Sabres have been in recent years - Depressing... lol. It’s a very long article, but here’s a general summary - Here’s one of many attached charts - 94% chance at missing the playoffs. If you read the entire article Its not as bad as it first looks. He said in 30% of his models the Sabres earn over 85pts and make a nice improvement over last year. He also said the Sabres had a really nice offseason, and have a real nice core starting to take shape but their depth is severely lacking still. He says we have the 4th worst ranked bottom 6 in the NHL (by added wins) which he said shows just how big a hole Buffalo is trying to dig out of.
  5. There have been 4 NHL lockouts since 1992. The most recent was 2012 when they missed 48 games (1/2 the season). You are thinking of the 2004 lockout where they cancelled the entire season. They did a drawing for the top spot I; the draft that year. Sidney Crosby was the prize and the Sabres were one of 4 teams with the best odds to draft him (i can’t remember exactly how they calculated it).
  6. Damn. That sucks. But at least they tried to add him.
  7. He’s actually still here. He’s senior VP of football administration. Brandon was definitely one of the leaks. I think the other big leak was Scott Berchtold (the old VP of communications), who was replaced by Derek Boyko.
  8. I said the same in the other practice squad thread. Whoever gave him the advise to leave school and enter the draft did him a HUGE disservice.
  9. Personally, I think it would be a better idea to use the exemption and give him a full year to learn the game of football, and then give him a legit chance to make the roster next year. Wade just started learning the game of football for the first time in his life a few months ago. Guys were saying that he had to be taught things that they learned way back in their pop-Warner leagues. Even the most basic football concepts were new to him. He even said himself that people don’t realize just how little he knows about football. I think eh could benefit from a year on the practice squad more than most.
  10. I wish Tyree well but this isn’t all that surprising. Whoever advised him to leave college early and enter the draft gave him some really, really bad advise.
  11. I don’t think they Have To sign 4 guys with 2 accursed seasons, do they? I thought the rule was that they are allowd up to 4 exemptions (upped from 2) for players with 2 accursed seasons.
  12. Still waiting/hoping to hear news on a punter... I hope the Bills brass aren’t too firm on having a guy with a huge leg because “buffalo weather”. give me a guy with consistently over a guy like Bojo who can kick it 60+ yards 1/10 times in practice.
  13. Damn it. Happy for him that he’s getting a shot, though.
  14. Let’s see how long he actually sticks around before we get too upset about it.
  15. Besides one catch in preseason game 4 against 4th string players, Sill did absolutely nothing. It would have been a giant head scratcher if he made the team. I can’t believe anyone was actually surprised he was cut...
  16. That one surprised me too, but he may only be here for 24 hours or less, depending on waiver claims and/or free agent signings.
  17. https://wgr550.radio.com/articles/news/beane-conference-call Beane’s conference call with the media today ^ here is Sunday’s interview -
  18. Don’t 3rd round compensatory picks start after the 3rd round is over (and before the 4th round starts)?
  19. Colquitt seems worth a look. Was he any good this preseason?
  20. not Bills related but a bit surprising. They just drafted him at the top of the 3rd this year, didn’t they?
  21. Im not surprised the NHL didn’t opt out, but the good news was that it sounds like the players may not opt out either. NHL CBA talks don’t have the best reputation for going smoothly.
  22. Glad we can FINALLY stop talking about Clowney now! lol
