I really thought the Sabres were going to blow it at the end there, after playing pretty good hockey for most of the game. Well... one win for Buffalo today. We just need one more now! Go Bills!!

Sabres game is lit today! When’s the last time you saw the wave at a Sabres game? Feels like forever. Must be that Bills playoff game day energy. Or people are just really excited about ‘90’s day...

I miss Jim Lorentz. It’s nice having him back with RJ for this game. Also, Sheary has looked pretty good these last few games. Krueger mentioned in a press conference that expectations were set for Sheary and that he knows exactly how he needs to play to stay in the lineup (aka, just like he’s playing tonight). So far it (healthy scratch + talk w/Krueger) seems to be working.

Need to see more of this Mittelstadt! He has all the talent in the world. I really hope he’s able to put it all together. It would be huge for the Sabres if he can. We need him to turn into a legit top 6 forward.

Johansson has been a nice surprise this season. I had pretty much written him off (he was sent to the ECHL for chunks of the season last year) but he’s been amazing.

I was just watching National Geographic channel and there was a commercial for “espn wildcard weekend featuring the Bills and Texans”. It was a minute long commercial showing different clips of Allen vs Watson, etc. I know these playoff commercials are standard every year, but it’s just so cool seeing the Bills featured in one again (I don’t remember seeing one in 2017. Maybe I missed it). People (other than Bills/Texans fans) actually seem excited to watch this game. This is definitely different than 2017. Nobody is saying we don’t belong, or that we don’t stand a chance. Im already starting to get nervous about tomorrow, though... lol There’s still tickets left for sale? How? Are Houston fans not that excited about this game?

I’d be surprised, unless Dorsey is will to put a LOT more weight on character than he ever has before. Rivera is just like McDermott in wanting character to be the #1 priority. He wants good, high character people, first and foremost.

The rumor was laughed at? Or the trade itself? Like NJ wouldn’t make that trade? Or we’d be idiots for making the trade? Now that I’m seeing his contract, I’m not sure I want to make this trade anymore. 2 more years after this at $2.75M. If he regains his 20 goal form (well, 19) of a couple seasons ago, it would be a nice add. But if he keeps struggling last last season and this, it’s just one more player with a contract he’s not worth. Edit: Eichel in OT!! Sabres needed that win BAD.

I would make that trade. Why not. It would get Pilut into the lineup, which would be awesome. I’d rather Pilut vs McCabe (though McCabe plays a different type of game. Tougher), and you guys could definitely use McCabe. How has Zacha been? I liked him in his draft year but it doesn’t seem like he’s ever really put it together. I also heard a rumor rumor about Evan Rodrigues for Miles Wood. That’s another one I’d do. ERod wants a trade. Ain’t gonna do much better than a player like Miles Wood. Iirc he’s from the buffalo area too, isn’t he?

Underwhelming for sure. I was hoping for a 3rd at the least if they dealt him for a pick (more like a 2nd, but I guess that was unrealistic under current circumstances). But I expected the pick to be from a playoff team looking to make a run. So a 4th from Montreal may not be drastically different, I guess. Really, I was hoping for a 3rd line forward, but I have to assume that trade wasn’t out there. At least this clears his $4M cap hit (not exactly sure of the pro-rated cap space). There probably weren’t many teams that could take on Scandella’s full cap hit without sending cap back. That’s definitely a big help for the Sabres right now. It makes things a lot less complicated at least. Happy for Scandella to go to his hometown team. I believe his mom lives there too iirc. Maybe this will eventually get Pilut a call-up (probably need to move 1 more D first). That would be nice.
