I actually think Daboll is doing a pretty good job and I hope the Bills don’t lose him. He has his bad play calls, like any other OC. But overall I think there’s been more good than bad. Allen is trending up and seems to be developing pretty nicely. Considering how raw a prospect he was, I think he’s taken a pretty nice step forward this season. Allen raves about the role Daboll has played in his development. Daboll is giving Allen freedom at the LOS too. Not every OC is willing to give a rookie QB that much freedom that quickly. Plus, Allen loves him and so do the guys on offense. Beasley listed Daboll as a big reason he signed here. The Bills have basically an entire new starting offense. I’d rather see continuity for Josh and everyone else on offense. Allen is just starting to get comfortable in this system. I’d much rather see them be able to hit the ground running next season vs starting over with a new playbook + system. I’d rather them Be able to add to the playbook and work on perfecting the system. Personally, I think keeping Daboll for next season is what’s best for Allen’s development.

Lol at the Jets defense celebrating like crazy. Congrats guys. Our 2nd string offense is about on par with your 1st string defense. and our 2nd string defense is doing a good job shutting down your #1 offense.

I think he would be perfect for the Browns. They desperately need a coach that can come in, command the room and truly change the culture there. I think RR could do it.

I know they lost but I really didn’t have an issue with the way the Sabres played. I thought that Buffalo looked like the better team for much of the game. Usually it’s boston swarming all over the Sabres, winning puck battles, stripping pucks etc. But I felt like the Sabres were the ones swarming Boston much of the night. They just couldn't buy a goal, as usual. And they’re not as talented as Boston is at forward. Halak made some great saves, but the Sabres have issues scoring goals. They have for years. They were creating chances though. But they couldn’t finish. I have no trouble supporting them when they play like they did on Friday. It’s the games where it looks like nobody cares that really piss me off. I can live with a loss when I see full effort from everyone.

It’s new. It happened on a hit as he was headed off on a line change. I don’t remember who initiated it, Skinner or the Boston player,but skinner dropped his shoulder into the guy then fell to the ice and when he got up it looked like he was in pain. I am pretty sure its a shoulder injury of some type.

Watching this game brings back a lot of good memories, but at the same time it makes me kind of sad knowing the SB loss came next. This really should have been the year the Bills won it all...

Nice article on Risto’s improved play this season. Glad he seems happy here. You can definitely tell he’s matured this season, and he’s bought in to what Krueger is preaching. That was reportedly an issue with past coaches. As was his engagement with teammates, which also doesn’t appear to be an issue anymore (at least from what I’ve read).

I said in the post game thread yesterday that this team is a year ahead of schedule. This was really the first year of the “build” part of their re-build. Last year they finished the tear down and got the cap back in order. This was the first offseason where they started truly adding talent back in. If they can win a playoff game this year I’ll consider the season a pretty huge success. Just making the playoffs with 2 weeks left in the season was a big step IMO and makes this season a success. But I really want to see a playoff win, so... I think this season was always mainly about Josh Allen’s growth. They gave him a lot more responsibility at the LOS, rebuilt his o line and got him a few weapons on offense. We need him to continue his growth if we want the Bills to be a true contender. But he’s not there yet. He was the most raw 1st round QB from his draft class. He didn’t get the top tier QB coaching other draft prospects get. He said himself that he didn’t receive any coaching in high school or Junior college and barely any at Wyoming. We can’t expect him to be an elite, franchise QB overnight. But for the first time in a long time I feel pretty good about the growth and development of our young QB. The future is definitely exciting. How many contending teams have $25M in cap space left over this season, and $90+M next season? The Bills are in a great spot to continue their upward trend next season (and beyond). They should have an easier time attracting free agents now. They have the best facilities in the NFL (or damn close), they have an elite defense, are in the playoffs and have a young QB + owners+coach+GM+team culture that all the players just rave about. The Bills window is just starting to open. It’s probably not our time this year, but I see a bright future!

Doesn't seem like he’s off to a very good start look at the stat lines, but I haven’t seen him play in Rochester yet so I really can’t say for sure.

That’s the one (and only) nice thing about the loss. The Bills are locked into the 5th seed. They can rest their starters next week if they want. and I can actually enjoy one nice Bills football Sunday without being all stressed out the whole game! ? though I’d much rather be playing for the division.

Disappointing. i wasn’t a fan of the defensive game plan today. Josh was definitely better than that 1st patriots game and did some encouraging things. But he still left some big throws on the field. He had Knox wide open twice for a TD and overthrew him badly both times. But he did some really good things too. Ultimately, the Hills just aren’t ready to take the division from the patriots yet. But the Bills are still ahead of schedule. Their window is just starting to open. The patriots is closing.

Hutton looks awful. What is up with his positioning?! He’s way overplaying everything it seems. Whole team looks awful though. Nobody stepping up in Eichel’s absence.

Yeah, the Bills got snubbed. But I’m hoping that there end up being NO Buffalo Bills in the Pro Bowl this year... (because they’re still bust playing real NFL games! ?)

I’m wondering if Shad Khan actually gives Marrone and Caldwell another year now, without Coughlin, to see if they can do better without him less,I guess in everything. Khan seems very very slow to fire people (Caldwell still somehow has a job, and Gus Bradley survived forever). I could see him giving them a chance (not saying that I think they deserve it, just to be clear). Edit - now I’m not so sure after reading Shad Khan’s statement... says Marrone and Caldwell will report to him on an interim basis for the rest of the season.
