  1. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/nick-chubb-out-for-season-with-very-significant-knee-injury-kevin-stefanski-says chubb done for the season
  2. I saw that live. It made me queasy. Gave me flashbacks to my knee injury. I actually had a very similar knee injury, except that my knee was bent 90° in the wrong direction forward. It completely tore my ACL, MCL, ripped a big chunk of my meniscus right off the bone and chipped my knee bone. My first knee doctor was one of the guys who works on the Bills and UB football players and he told me he never drained more fluid from someone’s knee than mine. It looked like I had a watermelon around my knee 😂 I really feel for Chubb.
  3. Yes, I agree. They’ve never had a prospect pool like this since the rebuild started in 2013. They have good prospects in juniors, the AHL, Russia, Europe… it’s crazy! I was just saying that the #1 prospect pool ranking (the ranking itself) probably doesn’t mean much to Sabres fans that haven’t really been following the team lately like pine barrens.
  4. The Sabres still had the #1 prospect pool ranking in 2014/15, 2018 and numerous top 3 rankings too. https://theathletic.com/459786/2018/08/30/pronman-2018-19-nhl-farm-system-rankings/?amp=1 But I agree, this time is different. They have an insane amount of good prospects right now. And it’s actually transferring to the ice this time. Prospects are developing, both in the AHL and NHL. I wasn’t disagreeing with your post BTW. I was just pointing out that to a casual Buffalo Sabres fan who hasn’t been paying attention to this latest version of the rebuild, I can see why a top prospect pool doesn’t mean a whole lot to them.
  5. I think it would be tough for the Bills to stomach the dead cap hit. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/kaiir-elam-76877/#:~:text=Kaiir Elam signed a 4,dead cap value of %2411%2C201%2C572. $11M dead cap if he’s traded this year.
  6. i think he’s talking about 2015-2020 ish with the old core like Eichel, Reinhart, Nylander, etc. It is true that the Sabres had the #1 ranked prospect pool multiple times during the previous rebuild and it never led to winning. However, I do think this time is different. Their pipeline this time is sooooo deep. Way deeper than any time in the last decade or more. And it actually seems like the kids are developing this time. Plus, they’re already having success in the NHL. I am really looking forward to this season!
  7. Wtf?! What happened? edit - I had read about him asking p,Ayers to share photos of their families to get to know each other better. Apparently this all stems from that? I don’t get why he was forced to resign over that.
  8. Tua looks good. He’s a very good fit for this offense.
  9. Did not like that play call edit - Diggs was actually wide open.
  10. Ugh, these 3rd and longs 🤬
  11. Picking up the flag was the right move. That was not DPI.
  12. Good series by Dorsey. Some really nice play calls on that drive.
  13. Beautifully executed fake run!
  14. No clue what #39 was upset about. That was 100% defensive pass interference.
  15. We need the good version of Josh Allen today.
  16. And you could almost make an entire second team of good prospects from the guys in the Sabres pipeline that aren’t at the prospect challenge!
  17. Good article on the athletic that touched on some of this: https://theathletic.com/4867821/2023/09/16/josh-allen-bills-quarterback-turnovers/
  18. prospect challenge games are live on YouTube right now
  19. Yes, the Eagles are 2-0 but IMO they don’t belong in the same conversation (at least right now) as the 49ers and Cowboys, who both dominated week one. I haven’t been impressed by the eagles offense at all so far the first 2 games of this season. Their defense has looked good and they’ve been pretty darn lucky with turnovers. But their offense has looked nothing like last season so far IMO. I think Hurts looks pedestrian. I think the play calling has been questionable. Their passing game has been mediocre at best. They were able to run the ball last night. But week one they were lucky to even win against the patriots. They really didn’t do that much outside of those 2 turnovers early in the game. check out the stats on the eagles offense through 2 games: https://www.nfl.com/teams/philadelphia-eagles/stats It’s way too soon to say which conference will be the toughest this season anyway. The first weeks of the NFL season are always unpredictable. The eagles do have a new OC too, so I’m sure they are going through some growing pains. I expect their offense to play better as the season goes on.
  20. That State Farm commercial with Andy Reid was great.
  21. It was reported that there was an investigation by the NFL into the claim. They talked to everyone at the dinner and nobody remembered him saying that. https://x.com/kfitz134/status/1701645969090081021?s=61&t=mvFwLU5P2NuqNnOmVpYtwg Also, the person who filed this complaint and was continually following up on it (Trotter) was not the same person who supposedly heads Pegula say this. He filed his complaint based on 2nd hand info. So his persistence doesn’t mean much as far as whether Pegula said it or not. edit: from the article: so the comment was supposedly made in 2018, and the reporter brought it up on a zoom call in 2020. 🤷‍♂️
  22. https://www.nfl.com/news/chris-jones-new-one-year-deal-with-chiefs-worth-up-to-25-million-kansas-city-has Deal is worth up to $25 million. Looking at the incentives, unless he’s injured he should easily hit the first 2, making the contract likely worth at least $21.5M. He might be able to hit the 10 sack incentive, which would push the contract value up to $22.75M. The last $3.5M in incentives will be harder to hit and depend more on the chiefs as a whole. Chiefs also retain the ability to tag him. So he’s really not getting that much more.
