Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Merry Christmas everyone! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow ( as we wake up to 3 feet of snow so we can shovel it ) OK, you can stop now...

Derrick Henry tossing Bills players aside like king kong on a rampage amist the blinding snow is not a heart warming thought on the eve before Christmas IMO. Facing the rookie Tua, on the frozen tundra on the other hand, warms my heart...

Which retread NFL Head Coach would you hire?
Figster replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cowher, when I listen to him seems to still get it from a league perspective IMO. I'm not sure how well players would go for the in your face style now days. It would be interesting to find out. Myself personally, as a player If my goal is to win a Championship. Get all up in my face, cuss and spit on me, anything you want. Just take me there... -

A win, win combination Which is what makes a good GM and ownership so important... I might switch that to Wade Phillips as HC, Gailey as OC (with Fitzy starting his coaching career working with the QB's ) As an owner a scenario something like this would intrique me... -

The 2020 season, and Josh Allen... -
Take a look at B B win loss record over the last 2 decades including playoffs/championships and name one coach that has accomplished more. Now in my opinion overall record would probably be the best way to determine what coach knows the league and its players best. With all due respect to everyone that thinks differently, B B record speaks for itself IMO.

McD's process may not allow for "simply not good enough" in my humble opinion. Buffalo needs to be able to run the football at will because weather conditions at the Ralph may not allow a for a finesse passing attack IMO. I understand where your coming from although up until the bye a high powered passing attack in most instances has not helped a sputtering run game. Myself personally, it had more to do with not getting the RB's enough involved in the O to get a feel for the playing surface. How individuals on the Oline are blocking, or how the opposition is trying to defend them. It takes touches to get the motor going.( run or pass ) From the looks of it McD/Daboll are in the process of remedying the problem IMO. So while I agree my friend, the pass does open up the run. I think the answer we are looking for is somewhere in the middle.
-
Generally speaking, I think it works both ways IMO. A good run game that can come at you at any time that gets mixed in with a high powered passing attack puts the oppossing D on its heels and 2nd guessing IMO. Good ball distribution in both run and pass, the motor is hitting on all cylinders. So Josh can put the pedal to the metal... (The Titans deep playoff push last post season is a great example of what a good running game can do for you.)
-
I think getting our RB's more and more involved has really helped the Bills gain the upper hand IMO.

Right side of thread discussion (It appears a 3rd page criteria has to be met to kick in the thread stats)

I like the listings of top posters and the posts that generated the most attention. Pretty cool SDS

Scenario where Bills may want to intentionally lose week 17
Figster replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When you argue against resting the starters to me its like saying the bye for the 1st seed is a bad thing IMO. I think you really start losing an edge when good players get real banged up or injured in a game that may not mean much in the grand scheme of things. Some chump with a bad attitude going after Allens legs from behind which has already come close to happening. The Bills have been a much better team coming off the bye and getting healthy has had allot to do with it IMO. -

I agree, Titans, Ravens, both teams nobody wants to face in the playoffs. Browns even starting to look real tough IMO. No easy route to the big dance... -

Man I get where your coming from, but If good fortune can come to another team that is sure to get us prime time matchups next season like back in the day with Kelly and Marino, why not. I like the Ravens less and I don't like the Browns. -

You would think the extra wild card might start watering down the level of competition. Doesn't seem to be the case in the AFC... -

I like your idea up to the point of losing intentionally. Resting the starters on the last regular season game is a great idea IMO... -

How do we keep Daboll around?
Figster replied to loveorhatembillsfan4life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the bearded one has coach material written all over him. Current playbook with some adjustments from Fitz who has taken in a wealth of knowledge from Chan Gailey. One of the leagues most innovative minds IMO. -

It is, If you have confidence in what you are doing. Clearly you would need some confidence going forward in which ever decision you would reach. Being a good OC is one thing, a good HC another. Learning from McD is a good way to help acquire the knowledge and have the best chance at longevity as HC because the chance may only come once. Fail, the 2nd chance may never come again IMO. Allen regress? Ha -

Its possible Buffalo can convince Brian Daboll that by staying and helping a Bills Dynasty team off to a good start the opportunities will always be there and only get better and its true. Winning Championships on a resume opens doors...
