  1. I mean it's pretty standard. a monopoly in business is something that has the market cornered. If you want it you have to get it through them And while the NFL isn't the only professional football league, it is basically the only professional football league
  2. Exactly why the NFL as a football league is like on Monopoly. Nobody wants to watch water downed football There are dozens and dozens of Semi-Pro leagues that exist. Nobody cares because there's not talent The NFL has talent so it has the money and the ratings and the contracts. It's not the seventies anymore so there will never be another rival to push the NFL The NFL pretty much does have a monopoly on professional football. But there is college football from division 1 to division 3 Heck high School football in Texas is King.. so there will always be football But there's only 1 professional football league that matters
  3. Nobody who could be on an NFL roster would choose to go the XFL. It's a last-ditch resort for players, just like all the other Semi-Pro or "pro" league's now Sure they exist, some pays players 100 bucks game. But the only real money is in the NFL and they got a monopoly on that money The XFL had hot talk for a few weeks and even the marketing of Vince McMahon couldn't keep it float Because there's no money in these smaller league's
  4. He really doesn't need other ventures to succeed in. You don't ask a pediatrician to do brain surgery His brand and everything he built is all he needs because it is worldwide. His other ventures we're just Gamble's to him because he could do it The WWE is his life's work and he's built that into a billion dollar industry Not saying he's the smartest man in the world. But he is a great marketer and made WWE worldwide and a billion dollar business If there was ever a promotional genius it be Vince McMahon While it's scummy It's exactly how I would expect a genius to behave. Since they are usually all about the bottom line If you can get it back for pennies on the dollar, it's absolutely a genius move Even if it's screws all of us, it's smart on his part and exactly what I'd expect a genius to do. Besides I don't think most billionaires care about us. If they could exploit the system I think they definitely will and do I said nothing about him as a person, just about his marketing and promoting expertise over his career
  5. You just said it yourself. There are a million kinds of genius He is a marketing genius. Not a con man He isn't selling a miracle elixir , he isn't a snake oil salesman selling a cure.. He is a promoter and a marketer And a marketing and promoting genius at that. Anybody who's close to him uses that word , he built an empire You don't have to be elite at quantum physics to be a genius because there are many forms of genius Yes the words watered down, because everybody thinks they're one.. Vince McMahon actually is and has fruits to show
  6. The NFL's a Monopoly. There is nothing and no league that could rival it Vince McMahon is a genius. And I bet he'd be a great NFL commissioner He's just in a losing battle. Because you can't compete with the NFL today
  7. Dude you have no idea the experiences I have gone through. What racism and prejudices I've encountered And that's still not a reason to make it a racial issue. It's like when I watch a video of a basketball game and they say white baller goes off. Who cares if he's white there's no color in sports Just like there shouldn't be any color in this incident. Woman gropes man Boom no reason for race
  8. What does race have to do with anything? Two white guys wouldn't want the perception that they did something to a black woman either.. Bringing up race just sets up back. We are all human
  9. Sad story heard he went missing the other day Prayers for his family
  10. I think the bills have the best secondary scheme in the NFL I don't think we have the most talent. Though still top 5
  11. He may not be top 32 now but he's been a top 32 guy for a good amount of his career And it's an honor to even be one of the top 64 QBs in the world let alone a starter He has been on a team as a starter or backup for 156 games. 139 of which are starts and he has over 200 TDs while being a 7th rounder For him being a top 32 guy for his stretch is impressive and I think Fitz is a good system QB
  12. Over 30,000 yards says he's not a backup He's a low-end starter in a QB lacking league
  13. You don't go from being a losing team with a losing culture. To winning the super bowl in one season It's a process Tons of good teams need to learn how to win close games before they take the next step as title contenders 2 and 14 teams don't wake up in the super bowl Even the 49rs learned to win some games with Nick Freaking Mullins which obviously helped once they got jimmy back the next season.
  14. Well again nothing is set in stone. But for the most part, teams and organizations need to learn how to win It's the same in the NFL ,division 1 football ,and high School You need to build a culture of winning in most cases Even Saban struggled his first year in Alabama. Sure it's always possible, but winning is a learned behavior in sports. fact
  15. Josh improved dramatically reading zone defenses over these two years He struggles way more in tight press man coverage. And diggs should help because he has a guy who could beat one-on-one coverage
  16. All the adults including my father called me Eddie Haskell growing up
  17. Because winning a championship is usually a learned behavior in pro sports. Usually that's why you don't have lots of last to First super bowl stories in the NFL Winning franchises know how to win because they've been there and done that. Michael Jordan is notorious for ripping into new teammates because he didn't think they knew how to win like he did You lose a championship game, if you ever make it back you know how much harder you have to work to win There are obviously exceptions to everything. But the niners weren't some whipping boy for the last 15 years. They went to a Superbowl in the last 7 years. Their organization knows how to win and just needed 2 rebuild an old roster. And get another qb
  18. The tralf is probably my favorite music venue in the city
  19. I don't doubt that seeing I don't watch much rugby But the style of the sport and how they get things done are just vastly different I don't recall many 70 yd set kicks in rugby with a blocking scheme tho I could be wrong
  20. I don't doubt that the wrestling is top-notch. I actually don't mind the heel face Dynamics and talking sometimes but I agree they can go overboard
  21. Yeah I know who Jon moxley is I hardly have enough time to watch WWE I really don't have the time to also watch aew unfortunately
  22. Jon gruden played college football You can't say he wasn't an athlete
  23. In the past he has said if the NBA remove the one and done rule he would consider going pro I don't think he will go the G league route as he does seem to want to play college ball at least for a season if he can't go right to the NBA
