We now have two open roster spots with Edwards being released and Smoot going to IR. I would think Ankou will get one of the openings, he has earned it IMO. That leaves one left to hopefully fill through a trade.

I don't disagree, and I'm intentionally not diving into my "fire McDermott" stance until the season is over. He's our coach right now so he has my support through the rest of the season. Just saying there is no comparison between Daboll and Johnson.
-
Daboll has never been a great OC at any point in his career. Ben Johnson transformed Goff into a top 10 QB and has built the most dominant offense in the league. And the offense has gotten better and better each year so it's not a flash in the plan. The respective resumes of those coaches are not close IMO.

Good news... KC was reportedly in on him. Finally a big trade went to the NFC.
-
AKA both of those players will be traded to whatever team makes the best offer. Hopefully we're in on SJD.

My thought is that the trade deadline should be about setting us up for the playoffs, not setting us up for November. Usually I am all about stacking the WR room, but unless Coleman's injury is a season ender we can enter the playoffs with a trio of Cooper/Coleman/Shakir. That is not a dominant group by any means but I'm good with it. We probably have the cap room to make exactly one trade (thanks to Beane's awful FA spending this year, but that's a topic for another thread). WR is the wrong position to use it on IMO. For me the position group most likely to kill us in the playoffs as currently constructed is DT and it's not close. We're going to see some great rushing teams in the playoffs - some combination of the Chargers, Texans, Ravens, Chiefs, and finally the Lions if we make it that far. And other than the Chargers, you also have to respect the pass for each of those teams. We aren't going to see any Seattle minus DK Metcalf offenses where we can just sell out to stop the run. Somebody up front needs to be able to make individual plays to shut down the run, and right now we don't have anyone on the roster capable of that. Eli Ankou might be our best run stopper which is insane. So give me a big DT and hope to enter the playoffs healthy. That gives us our best shot at making a run IMO.

So in your opinion the Chiefs who will likely be missing their top 2 WRs and their #2 CB are not favorites to win the AFC this year?

If only their offense had had the ball at the 2 yard line with a chance to take the game out of the defense's hands -

Multiple times. His offense bailed him out on a gritty drive and he decided to toss their effort in the garbage. What a loser. -

Can't imagine teams playing MNF into OT look great the following week. Denver travels to KC next week. -

The ideal scenario is running the clock down to score a TD with less than 20 seconds and then score a 2 point conversion. Not play for OT when your defense has looked hopeless this half. -

I've never once been angry at the Chiefs. I've always been angry at their opponent. -

Bucs screwed everything up after getting down to the 1. They turned what would have been a certain win into less than a coin flip -

Way too much time on the clock and how does Bowles not know to go for 2 here? -

Honestly glad he didn't score there. Leave no time on the clock -

I gave the Bucs too much credit thinking they could make it to 4th and 10 -

Watch. On this drive TB will be forced to go for it on like 4th and 10 because they passed on the easier conversion on their last drive. -

Rooting for KC to score a TD here so I can see the camera pan to Bowles' clueless stupid smirk -

I'm not in favor of being always aggressive all the time but in that spot against this team it's a no brainer. As I type this KC makes the easy decision and converts a 4th and short. Bowles deserves the upcoming 7 point deficit. -

I still can't believe Bowles punted. TB might have the worst defense in the league. This drive getting back to the spot of the punt is the most predictable outcome of all time. -

Cover 1- Why And How Miami Gashed The Bills In The Run Game
HappyDays replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah I'm watching the Chiefs right now and they do what Miami did - they get big people into the 2nd level and block your small back 7 players out of the screen. We need to come into that game planning to shut down the run first. It sounds insane to say about a Mahomes led offense but that's who they are this year. -

Just a dumb blitz on 3rd down there. Todd Bowles has never watched Mahomes play? -

Their offensive strategy worked. Their defensive strategy did not. I don't know how anyone can disagree with either of those statements. The Dolphins punted once. One great individual play from Taron Johnson stopped another drive. At all other points in the game, they took our souls over and over again.
