Yeah I mostly agree, despite being the #1 WR advocate on here I was fine going defense early because that's where the value of the class was going to be. I am happy with the players we selected where we selected them. I just hope all the defensive investments end up mattering when it counts.

I do understand the strategy. If you just look at the stats especially in the playoffs it seems obvious on the face of it we need defense more than offense. I still feel like over investing in the offense would have been an equally viable strategy, but they went in the more expected direction. I just hope all of the investments create a different result. We apparently don't want to give Allen that alpha that can make a clutch play for him at the end, so the defense needs to be good enough that we don't need that clutch play at the end.

Two of our 5ths could get us to the top of the 4th. I'd be looking to do something like that for Royals, Felton, or Horton, whoever happens to still be on the board. I'll be disappointed if our vertical WR addition ends up being like Arian Smith in the 7th. I want a legit prospect.

They punted more times in the Super Bowl than they've punted against us in all 3 playoff matchups combined. Let's be real, our defense has been a massive disappointment in those games. So we gave McDermott all his toys. I'm not going to totally hate on the strategy. But the strategy needs to produce a different result.

I'll say this - we just spent all of our premium picks on defense. McDermott got all of the big investments. These players have to show up in the playoffs, no more games against KC where they never punt. In a vacuum I'm not a fan of drafting zero offensive players in the top 100 and once again leaving Allen to do it all on his own. But we'll see if they picked the right players which is ultimately what matters.

I mean we didn't get Jalen Carter if that's what you're asking. But interior pass rush was one of the biggest reasons they just won a Super Bowl. They didn't have Jordan Davis chasing down Mahomes, it was Carter and Williams on the field at the same time wreaking havoc.

Funny enough Philly took that guy in Jordan Davis and he's been one of their few draft disappointments in recent years. Now get a WR with vertical traits in the 3rd round and we're off.

I would have taken Scourton but who really knows how these players are going to turn out. I just want to see us make sensible decisions. So far so good. The scouting will be proven correct or not later.

3rd down pass rush was a huge problem last year. Oliver and Sanders will be on the field together on money downs. And honestly I just don't worry about it. Give me waves of pass rushers, that's what won the Eagles a Super Bowl.
