But how many of them are against the lesser QBs? The ones holding onto the ball to long? I’m not saying you’ll never get there, but we definitely don’t. We never do. And we constantly rush 4. Our whole philosophy is to not let teams get over the top. I don’t know what year this dude thinks it is but that’s not even something to fear. These good QBs have no issue slashing you for 7/8 yards at a time. Then get us on skates and the run is there. The entire defense needs to be reimagined. That most likely requires a new person to coach it

I’m getting aggravated with hearing people complain about ANYONE on the offense. The offense was elite. All time balance and scored at will. Every single problem was on defense. I don’t care who it is. If you are on offense…back off. They were part of something amazing. Every complaint should be directed towards the problem: Mcdermott the DC The defense STs Thats the list

You aren’t going to get there. The game has changed. You have to blitz or you have to cover. Nobody is touching these good QBs the ball is out way to fast. Even our own QB never gets sacked. The people thinking traditional lineman are going to win and get to these top QBs aren’t paying attention. You aren’t. It’s not even new. Even Brady was that way. The ball is gone before you’ll get there. You have to blitz and you have to confuse them

Very happy for Josh. Let’s face it, The guy is probably the best or 2nd best player in franchise history. He’s the best player in the NFL. He absolutely deserves it. Fix the defense and get this guy the ring he has probably earned 3x over already

I think the truth is those guys on the backend covered up so many of the flaws in this system. I never liked it but they were erasers back there. I think McDermotts defense is the only reason we haven’t and can’t win a superbowl. But for a bit, our Safeties were so incredible…that it made it look decent. It’s definitely been exposed and needs to be overhauled

I’m not the one for that lol I was on a rampage asking for McDermott to be gone. I just know that isn’t happening. I need a new voice in the room for the defense. I’m absolutely the last guy you need to make that point to. Every single problem we have is the defense. The scheme and the guy coaching it. Who cares? We scored at will all year and moved the ball on every single defense. Our offense is elite. It’s not an issue whatsoever. Don’t even look at the offense. Every single problem we have is the guys scheming up the defense

Maybe we should try and copy the Seahawks plan: be good at defense? Yeah I’m all for that. Bring in a guy that knows how to coach one.

The most important player to Josh was early prime Beasley. A reliable guy that could extend drives and give him the easy out when plays broke down

The personnel is NOT the issue with this defense. If you brought in a good DC right now, the currently constructed group would be lights out. The coaching of our defense is an inexcusable disgrace

You are just one of the people that will never see it. And that’s fine. There’s nothing anyone can do about that. I don’t care what the excuses are. It’d not good enough. He’s also had more time than most other guys ever get. And he’s responsible for a lot of the personnel decision. He works hand and hand with Beane I’m sure. We also have had very good LBs in his time here. I’m not going to even try and justify it. The reality is it’s not even close to good enough. And when it comes to coaching defense, he’s not close to good enough

It’s been apparent for years. 13 seconds was the national exposure then it only got worse. Even last week you have people on here trying to defend this defense. I heard people say we got 2 stops. Wtf happened in our lives that it’s that would be acceptable? The Dick Jauron defenses would run circles around this one. This defense, this scheme and this coach’s philosophy on defense is why we haven’t won a Super Bowl. It’s why we won’t win a super bowl. It’s why our seasons have ended from 2019 through now. The worst part is, It’s the ONLY reason. We have a generational player at the most important position in sports. We have the best player in the whole league on our team and despite numerous coaching and personnel changes…our offense has been consistently elite for 6 years. We are only good because of them. If you have watched the McDermott Bills for 1 month of your life, it’s a constant cycle that never changes. When our offense is rolling scoring TDs on every drive and our defense gets a couple of turnovers, we blow out the average teams and can sneak by the good ones. If a good team is not turning it over and our own offense doesn’t score a TD on every drive, we aren’t going to win. Because we never stop anyone. Even the bad teams. We never make big stops and we never force punts. It’s the 1 thing this coach is supposed to be giving us an edge on. Instead It’s the thing that’s hurting us every year and holding us back. This defense does not work. If it’s not completely overhauled and coached by someone other than McDermott, we won’t get there. Just change it now. The Bills owe it to all of us.

The most important parts of every other sport will be played now until then. NHL NBA almost all of MLB a ton of the nascar seaaon All of the PGA F1 bowling if you want it i love football more then all the other things put together but there’s a few ways to look at it. There is a lot of fun in the off-season. It’s almost all good and no stress. Also the hope will be be restored and the Bills can’t hurt us for 9 months. That’s actually a very overlooked thing. The sense of relief knowing the Bills can’t ruin a week or two for you for a while now. It’s safe.

I’d like to see a complete outsider come in and rework the defense. Think (Vic Fangio, Jim Schwartz, Mike Pettine, etc) I know those guys specifically are probably out of the question obviously but I want a total new voice to be in charge of the defense. I do not want to watch another season of the soft shell, passive zone defense. I want a guy that sets the tone and makes QBs uncomfortable. This scheme has been figured out. Please change it. The good QBs have to much time and the good offenses move the ball at will on us.

I don’t want him to have a single thing to do with the defense. I disagree with every single thing he believes in. Our only shot is him to have his defensive philosophies removed
