I can’t believe they got there with 4. That was the best performance by a defense I can ever remember. They earned it. Anyone that doesn’t want to believe that defense is still the difference is in denial. Always has been, always will. Making stops is how you win championships. Go get Garret AND Crosby

Nobody else is more depressed that our defense was so bad against these guys?

We are starting to circle in on the real problems, now let’s bring in another guy that can possibly take control of the Defensive narrative and slowly push the old guard further and further away. The players are not the problem. Jim Schwartz, Dick Labeau, Wade Phillips (idk I’m just spitballing) would have THIS defense lights out. It’s the coaching. STs was also terrible. It barely matters in 2025 but good. Move on and get better.

4 years ago sure. We’re good now. Not the type of guy we need at this stage of his career. That team is about to be a mess. Go pay that QB who is barely more then just a guy and you can close that window

But how many of them are against the lesser QBs? The ones holding onto the ball to long? I’m not saying you’ll never get there, but we definitely don’t. We never do. And we constantly rush 4. Our whole philosophy is to not let teams get over the top. I don’t know what year this dude thinks it is but that’s not even something to fear. These good QBs have no issue slashing you for 7/8 yards at a time. Then get us on skates and the run is there. The entire defense needs to be reimagined. That most likely requires a new person to coach it

I’m getting aggravated with hearing people complain about ANYONE on the offense. The offense was elite. All time balance and scored at will. Every single problem was on defense. I don’t care who it is. If you are on offense…back off. They were part of something amazing. Every complaint should be directed towards the problem: Mcdermott the DC The defense STs Thats the list

Rip. All I ever heard was how nice of a guy he was. He was a really good defensive mind. Very sad.

You aren’t going to get there. The game has changed. You have to blitz or you have to cover. Nobody is touching these good QBs the ball is out way to fast. Even our own QB never gets sacked. The people thinking traditional lineman are going to win and get to these top QBs aren’t paying attention. You aren’t. It’s not even new. Even Brady was that way. The ball is gone before you’ll get there. You have to blitz and you have to confuse them

The chiefs only throw short quick stuff. Can’t push it down the field and won’t hurt you deep….this guy was playing CBs 9 yards off. The only thing NOT to do. It’s inconceivable how bad our coaching is on the defensive side of the ball. And that’s what this HC does lol coach the D

Very happy for Josh. Let’s face it, The guy is probably the best or 2nd best player in franchise history. He’s the best player in the NFL. He absolutely deserves it. Fix the defense and get this guy the ring he has probably earned 3x over already

Please don’t give him the sportsmanship award to soften the blow of not giving him MVP

I think the truth is those guys on the backend covered up so many of the flaws in this system. I never liked it but they were erasers back there. I think McDermotts defense is the only reason we haven’t and can’t win a superbowl. But for a bit, our Safeties were so incredible…that it made it look decent. It’s definitely been exposed and needs to be overhauled

I’m not the one for that lol I was on a rampage asking for McDermott to be gone. I just know that isn’t happening. I need a new voice in the room for the defense. I’m absolutely the last guy you need to make that point to. Every single problem we have is the defense. The scheme and the guy coaching it. The reason I most want a quick hook with Babich, is he is McDermott jr. I want new ideas in there

Who cares? We scored at will all year and moved the ball on every single defense. Our offense is elite. It’s not an issue whatsoever. Don’t even look at the offense. Every single problem we have is the guys scheming up the defense

Maybe we should try and copy the Seahawks plan: be good at defense? Yeah I’m all for that. Bring in a guy that knows how to coach one.

The most important player to Josh was early prime Beasley. A reliable guy that could extend drives and give him the easy out when plays broke down

The personnel is NOT the issue with this defense. If you brought in a good DC right now, the currently constructed group would be lights out. The coaching of our defense is an inexcusable disgrace

You are just one of the people that will never see it. And that’s fine. There’s nothing anyone can do about that. I don’t care what the excuses are. It’d not good enough. He’s also had more time than most other guys ever get. And he’s responsible for a lot of the personnel decision. He works hand and hand with Beane I’m sure. We also have had very good LBs in his time here. I’m not going to even try and justify it. The reality is it’s not even close to good enough. And when it comes to coaching defense, he’s not close to good enough
