Reuben Foster Failed Drug Test at Combine
CanadianFan replied to PolishDave's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes Foster is a great talent. I think we have LBs with very good skillsets and talent potential in the position. And greater needs elsewhere. -
Is it okay to have a second team to root for?
CanadianFan replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fak yeah! I like stories. Stories of growth. transformation. redemption. talent development. Combine that with athletic ability. Of the individual athlete. Or at organization level. So I follow Carroll and Seahawks. I know many of you have firm memories of what a laughing stock Carroll was thought of as. He was laughed out of NFL. Again derided for taking a "college job". He was Rodney Dangerfield of Football. But not on comedy circuit. Instead he's blazed the trail. Brought innovation to the game. He IS Phoenix. A living football god. And will be enshrined as such. Last year's Dak Prescott is a true feel-good story. 4th round project who surprised everyone with precocious poise. I'm looking to see if the kid hits his sophomore slump or does he grow further - faster release, faster decision making, better decision making. Bills are a good story. Because it's been burnt many times. Like the story of Icarus. Flew too high. Got burnt. 4 times in a row. Crushed and BROKEN. Franchise has been in a rubble since. Emotionally destroyed by the those epic losses. Struggling with its past. But held back by it. Trying to move beyond them but they keep holding it back. Flutie brought some magic back but conventions led Bills to kill its lucky charm. The team is stirring again. There is some talent. Its fanbase excited but DREADING the pain of the past. The pain that I see all over this board. Ghosts of 4 superbowls hang heavy like molten lava over its fanbase and the franchise. Heavy, still burning, still stinging. But there is life in its legs. It is starting to take heavy and errant steps in the right direction. Will those steps become trots? And will those trots then become sprints? Will those sprints get to escape velocity? The velocity to escape the chains of its past. Shed the memories of its crashes. And soar like Phoenix. So I watch. For the unfolding of that story. -
Reuben Foster Failed Drug Test at Combine
CanadianFan replied to PolishDave's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man was it my dyslexia or MTBI. I mixed up Foster with Fournette! FACK. I was thinking RB... this guy's LB... lol. NO we got enough talented LBs. I think the guys we got are more than adequate. -
Pats sign Gillislee to offer sheet

So maybe this is intentional! Remember we got a different coach coming in. Maybe he isn't as good of a zone running back? -

And This is What Makes the Browns, the Browns
CanadianFan replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely. Agree on Garret being the top pick by them. It's hogwash. But.... All this Trubinsky talk from them makes me think they are trying to 1) they are jacking up Trubinsky's value, motivating SOMEONE ELSE to make a move on Trubinsky early, so that 2) Trubinsky is THE smokescreen and they are targeting another QB with 12 or later - Watson? (insert another name)? -
Pegula shows Tim Murray and Dan Bylsma the door.

I'm talking about Bowman to be the CONSULTANT HIRE, NOT Casserly. Look at Bowman's track record - in Detroit, and in Chicago. His only failure? BUFFALO. lol -

CanadianFan replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
exactly. hire him to be sabres consultant for the summer, NOT BE GM - and ask him to find a GM. Kinda like what Charley Casserley does in NFL. -

CanadianFan replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree here. He was assistant GM with Ottawa when he was hired. He knew the draft board. He knew every player coming up in draft and who's playing in NHL and AHL. He is a talent evaluator. It wasn't like he was fresh out of school and didn't know what players were available. nope. -

CanadianFan replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they are smarter than THAT. Buffalo isn't Toronto where the size of the market and fan base means a team can suck for decades and still sell out EVERY GAME. In a small market its a tough balancing act, esp. in NHL where revenue sharing isn't on par with NFL. And from what I can see, Sabres games don't sell out every game do they? So yes product they bring on board is very crucial. On the other hand, Tim Murray was very well thought of at the time if all of you recall. And turning around a team takes a number of years. It just hasn't panned out. They gave him a few years to make the moves. It hasn't happened. I think their judgement has been fine. Time to move on. -

Murray and Blysma deserved this. Sabres should have made the playoffs with the talent they had. Toronto's revamped management team is 3 years ahead of their rebuild plan. Why not bring Bowman back as a consultant, and let him find a new GM? Maybe he can find success second time around. -
Pats sign Gillislee to offer sheet

Bills fans are such cry babies. I swear they would probably keep 200 players on the team if they could. who cares what the team has to pay. It's not their pocket. Every player that leaves is a "superstar". every player who stays is crap. -

I am so happy Pats admire the talents we have! Can you imagine what they can do if their coaches take over our team? OMG! And what does that tell us about our team? What we need is BETTER COACHING! Hopefully McD is the answer. -
Rotoworld ranks Whaley as worst GM in NFL
CanadianFan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Come on. Get your insights right. When did Leaks stop coming out? When Ryan Brothers were out. Who are openly hostile to Whaley? Buffalo News. Conclusion: Whaley is the worst GM in the NFL for NOT LEAKING TO THE PRESS. He hasn't buddied up to the press here or elsewhere, courted the relationship, give them some inside info on the hush hush, make them look good in their job. So they vent at Whaley. Just like fans venting! -
Pats sign Gillislee to offer sheet
CanadianFan replied to johnwalter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All I know is Bills haven't had a talent finder this good since the late 80s early 90s. Look at other teams with big holes on their roster. You look at this roster, there aren't a lot of holes. AND there are some great talents. Now it is up to the coaching staff to make the best of this. We signed many RBs this off season. There might be a scheme fit reason for these moves. -

I wonder what if Whaley was WHITE will there be this much hate? -

I have never heard of a fan base that cries more over less than average talent then this. STOP WHINNING! BE FLATTERED! -

CanadianFan replied to johnwalter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is that why Pats are signing all of our FAs to expensive contracts? Now who's GARBAGE - talent finders or the COACHES who can't WIN with them? This tells ME our coaches in the past just haven't done anything with the talent we've had. SO F OFF DUDE. THINK STRAIGHT. -
