  1. THE SMILING ASSASSIN! He'll give ya a smile, he'll give ya a hug, and ya never knew he got ya. McD. The Smilin Assassin. Rated PG-13. Coming to an NFL stadium near you.
  2. If McD is the second coming of Belicheat, I don't mind it. I just thought of a nick - smilin assassin.
  3. Yes but its exception to the rule. When one guy reports to the other (i.e. coach to GM or GM to coach) then we know they will be going in ONE direction, provided the hiring one did a good job. But splitting power like this does 2 things - 1) intentionally create room for power struggle and conflict and 2) makes Pegulas the hands-on manager that he has obviously said multiple times he isn't interested in. This is why he was looking for a football "czar" to oversea the team operations earlier on in the first year or so. This way, he has one guy to talk to, not 2 when it comes to on-field performance, and be more of an over-seer versus being actively involved in managerial decision-making which, as a non-football guy, isn't qualified to. See Snyder as reference.
  4. Why are you all still talking about Mahomes. He's home in KC. let it go.
  5. I know that coach Levy is highly revered. But when I hear Marv Levy and I think "old school". He didn't change nor adapt during that 4 year run. So sorry no, that's a bad analogy. And their personalities are on the opposite ends of the spectrum. I don't see it. The man sounds like a detail oriented control freak. We can best hope for Belicheat.
  6. I looked at the number of players we drafted from 2013-2016, how many remained with the team, and how many are still in NFL. The latter is very important because that is an indicator of your "ability" to spot talent in the drafts. I then compared your performance to that of our esteemed rivals, New England Patriots. And the results are interesting: In those 4 years we drafted 28 players to Pats' 36. Of the 28, 15 still remain with the team as of today. That's 54%. Looking at the pats, of the 36, 18 players are still on their roster as of today. So we have exceeded Pats' team retention by 4%. Nice. Now let's look at over-all talent evaluation. How many of our players are still on NFL rosters, vs. those who are no longer NFL players. Of the 28 players we drafted, 24 are still in the league, or 86%. Of the 36 players the esteemed Pats drafted, only 27 remain in the NFL. That's 75%. Here, Bills and Whaley have outperformed World Champions by 11% points. Doug, it is clear now. it's not your fault this team hasn't won. You can only bring them in. You aren't the one coaching them.
  7. Your math is wrong, and you missed Nick O'Leary. Geez did you pass grade school? I did better analysis. I looked at the players we drafted, how many we kept, how many are still in the NFL. That will tell us how good Whaley's eye for talents are compared to others in NFL. Here are the results: Whaley has done a better job of drafting than World Champion New England Patriots!
  8. Doug, So many miscreants have been bashing you for your inability to make draft picks. So I did a little analysis and compared it to our esteemed rivals New England Patriots. I looked at the number of players we drafted from 2013-2016, how many remained with the team, and how many are still in NFL. The latter is very important because that is an indicator of your "ability" to spot talent in the drafts. I then compared your performance to that of our esteemed rivals, New England Patriots. 9. This is plagiarism. Buffalo Dung Beetle News already did that "study". Let's just look at the four years Doug is responsible for - 2013-2016.
  10. You have to understand that Buddy Nix was the guy who promoted him to GM. Nix was a mentor of sorts. Nix wanted to pick a QB before he left. He wasn't going to throw Nix under the bus in his retirement, so he continued defending the decision. I admire him for that. That's what a decent human being does. That's what a good person does. He could have shied away from it, but he didn't. Due for what?
  11. Pegula didn't explain the move very well at the press conference. I can't see this move being seen favourably in NFL circles. This is a brand problem of a different sort. Whaley had some credibility in NFL. He has relationships in the league. This is going to have an impact on attracting the best talent out there due to optics involved.
  12. I refuse to read what Bedrock Times writes about Bills or GM candidates. Their lack of meaningful OR timely content is what forced me to come on this board.
  13. I agree with you there. They didn't have expertise in the sport. Went with their gut. It got all wrong. That. And the seeds of this began with Russ Brandon. How did this power-sharing arrangement start? When Brandon wanted to keep being the key "guy" in the organization by having Whaley and the other clown Marrone report to him instead of giving that power to Whaley. From then on any coach that comes along will not report to Whaley, and the coach and GM likely have their power struggles when it comes to personnel instead of being on the same page. Fact is nobody ever agrees on everything even the best of friends. This kind of structure creates power struggles that are counter-productive. Let the GM hire the coach, making sure that they see eye to eye on team direction and talent evaluation. And go from there.
  14. "ineptitude at its finest" https://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/threads/bills-fire-gm-doug-whaley-hours-after-end-of-draft.1139633/ As idiotic as some of our fans are with the antics at the stadium and the constant child-like whinning about everything, we have more class than them. I've never seen such loathsome group of people. You've already cheated to win the superbowls. At least try and have some class. But no, their true nature shows despite all the ill-gotten wealth. Perhaps it's their guilty sub-conscious. They are trying to put others down so that they can feel better about themselves.
  15. Mia digs at Chad http://nypost.com/2017/04/30/porn-star-is-so-happy-nemesis-qb-is-last-nfl-draft-pick/
  16. Chad Kelly I like his on field talent. I just know he won't change for the better if he was here.
  17. Dr. Evil Genius
  18. Well, the OP's nick tells a lot. This move smells like the old Bills. The only superbowl GM Bills had was also fired.
  19. yup. the thinking of many here puzzles me.
  20. yeah. and this was a good draft too.
