Doug, Thank you. Thank you for returning this franchise to relevancy. This was a farce of a professional franchise. It was a joke. Many college teams were better run than this place. Old ownership was living off the goodwill of his legacy and not on recent performance. Your arrival and turn as GM marks the first time this franchise had professionals running it since the early 90s. And as my analysis showed, you didn't do a bad job actually. But people in the area did not warm up to your cool analytical personality. Nor your tight lip ways win the following of old-school sports journalists of the area who relied on "inside information" instead of doing actual work to do their job. Thus they began a negative campaign for your head. And by the looks of it, they have succeeded. That's a shame. Because you did a decent job here. I hope you grow from this. We all need friends in many places. Just doing your job doesn't get it done anymore. You did a solid job with first round picks. It's not your fault they haven't been able to stay on the field for whole seasons. That medical staff did you no favors. Jerry Hughes was a great FA signing. We are going to miss your ability to find gems in the scrap heap or in mid rounds. Like Lonzo. Zack Brown. But all things must come to an end. This is the NFL. Not For Long. So long Doug. Best wishes

GM Doug Whaley has been fired

Doug, farewell. you didn't do a bad job actually as per my analysis. But you didn't win the people over in this area. they didn't like you. It might be lack of media relations. It might be expectations management. This impacted how they viewed you. And how they looked at the franchise. And a new GM was a cheaper way for the franchise to fix that than wait for you to repair the relationship. So farewell Doug. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/193447-nfl-draft-performance-analysis-for-2012-2016/ Pegulas, you're going to need a media-savvy GM. One who can communicate well with the fossils at Buffalo News and the table stompin rednecks who makes your stadium so entertaining, but also the national media and the newage social media. To be frank, McDermott does not seem to be that savvy with the media either. Spend some money, bring a savant. Or at least one who is great at talking his way around his mistakes. Because everyone makes a few. -
RD 5, Pick 171: Nathan Peterman (QB) - Pitt
CanadianFan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, I'm liking this pick more and more - check out his ratings when under pressure: He boosted his completion percentage by 9.8 percent on play action passes, the eighth-largest improvement in the class. Passing in 2.5 seconds or less: 69.9 percent completion, 18 TD, 3 INT, 124.6 QB rating. Passing in 2.5 seconds or less: 69.9 percent completion, 18 TD, 3 INT, 124.6 QB rating -

some people are just plain stupid. Players who visit teams are open secret. Players who are going to be drafted are PUBLIC. Everyone watch the same films, same games. This is beyond stupid. I swear people love conspiracy stories. -

Dare Ogunbowale, Wisconsin 5'10 3/4" 213 lbs 4.65s Dare Ogunbowale excelled in his third-down-back role at Wisconsin, catching a combined 60 passes in his last two seasons while averaging 8.5 yards per reception. He has soft hands and the ability to catch and run. Ogunbowale is at his best in the open field or on stretch plays getting outside of a defense, showing good lateral quickness. He will likely fit a zone run scheme best. He played faster than he tested, and while he is a raw athlete at this point, he offers nice upside for a team Taquan Mizzell, Virginia 5'9 3/4" 197 lbs 4.55 The quick feet and instincts of Taquan Mizzell give him a shot to make an NFL roster. In a zone scheme, Mizzell can make the cuts needed to get through the line of scrimmage no matter the size of the hole. He has the awareness and vision to get through the line and start picking up plus yardage. You’ll see chunk plays on his film, and he has a knack for cutting back against the grain to find more running room. These are the two zone RBs left from my list after round4. Others have been drafted or signed.

Grade the 2017 Buffalo Bills draft
CanadianFan replied to Real McClappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's a B on talent level. B + because of the late first rounder in 2018. We got good quality players, AND in positions of need. A couple of day 1 starters. Just falls short of A as there are no obvious future ROY or pro-bowlers in these picks. Well done Whaley and scouts! -
I hope Chad uses this label as fuel to change and become a man. He has promising talent. He has field vision. He can hit anywhere on the field accurately. Heck he's a better QB than Peterman. His lack of maturity cost him in this draft. This just might be the best thing for him. A humbling experience.

LOL Me too! Nice of Elway. But this is a good decision if he thinks he has a coach who can get through to Chad. Chad needs to do a U-turn. Time to sober up or you're gonna waste that talent. Yup. Pot's legal there. It's going to show whether he has gotten smarter. He has one year to show it. Yeah it doesn't make sense that he's got 2 young QBs that he'd pick a third. And to use the last pick too. It might be that him being 7th round covers Chad's medical bills? And obviously Chad is going to need professional trainers to rehab his hand after that wrist surgery.

LOL oh man I thought he said something else. I can't wait for the Miami games.

RD 5, Pick 171: Nathan Peterman (QB) - Pitt
CanadianFan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
thanks bud. I'll buy you ice cream when you come visit Tdot this summer. haha. Deep draft. arm strength is an issue. And one scout said he plays it too safe. No fatal flows here. Yeah he reminds me of Brees a lot. Just the way he sets himself up for the throws. -

Yup. He has the intangibles that can't be taught. What he lacks are things that can be taught. I think that's why he was picked at 5th as project. -

There are still 4 decent zone RBs left on the board. We might get one of them as UDFA. -

Watching his highlights he reminds me of Drew Brees with his mechanics. less arm strength. -

Yea that's what I was thinking too - his last game tape wasn't that great. So he will probably survive the move to practice squad. But he needs to play IMO to develop. He didn't get enough playing time at OSU. Best is CFL a few years. CFL will love him. he can chuck 20 yard throws every down. 3 years of that he'd be ready for NFL. -
