  1. If that happens, good night Orange. I like SU, but it's not as polished as Illinois. SU's subpar FT shooting eventually will be its downfall. They can't live solely on G-Mac threes. Warrick will have to play huge if they want to go far in March.
  2. If Illinois gets the kind of draw I think they'll get, they won't have to travel far in either the sub-regional or regionals. That will be a big advantage. Frankly BF, Illinois and Wisconsin are the best of what is overall an average Big Ten. Maybe 3 bids again, tops.
  3. Beware of Illinois and Kentucky. The Illini are very good--not undefeated for nothing, a club that can actually shoot a mid-range jumper. And UK can never be discounted in the postseason--they always find ways to win.
  4. WHERE WAS THE URGENCY? Holy Hanna, McNabb, you're sauntering to the LOL down 10 in the 4th and under 5 minutes to play? I've seen the Bills have issues with shoddy clock management through the years but what the Iggles did tonight was an all-timer. They let at least 90 seconds to 2 minutes go down the tubes by not going to a hurry-up/no-huddle--time they most certainly could have used to mount a final FG-tying drive and simply did not have from deep in their territory. They simply let too much time disappear on the Lewis TD drive that got them within three. Akers picked a bad time to pull a Lindell on that onside kick--Patsies had that recovery well in hand. I thought a key to NE's victory tonight was the running of Dillon and Faulk behind that OL. They pounded it for good chunks and that opened things up for Brady and Branch. The Patsie D posted 4 sacks and created 4 Iggle turnovers in a workmanlike performance. In a losing cause, however, T.O. showed what a warrior he is. Playing less than 100 percent on that ankle and he still made plays. That was impressive. SB opportunities aren't open forever as us Bills fans know. The window can close for a long period of time. Iggles had their chances tonight but didn't get it done. Their fans in the postgame are making brash predicts about going to Daytwah for next year's SB...but there are no guarantees in this game. Belichick can punch his ticket for Canton. Weis and Crennel can punch tickets for their respective destinations (ND & Cleveland). 3 SB wins in 4 seasons in this day and age is quite a feat. Imagine, 3 SB triumphs all by 3-pt. margins. The Bills have a ways to go to catch this club...then again so do a lot of other clubs in the AFC.
  5. ...Iggles must be selective when they blitz Brady. They must also "funnel" Dillon into the middle and make sure tackles. Get Westbrook involved! Especially quick-out throws from McNabb. McNabb also should get the green light and take off when the opportunity is there to keep the Patsies guessing. Field position too will be key. The kickers are a wash, but I like the Iggles' punter, Dirk Johnson--he's had a steady season and really performed well in the cold and win vs. Atlanta two weeks ago. If the Iggle D can force some rare Patsie playoff turnovers, they have a legit chance to win. 27-23 Iggles is my predict. Then, the next predict would be 2 million for the parade down Broad Street.
  6. Iggles 27, Patsies 23 McNabb Westbrook TD run Westbrook Brady (he'll get the yards, McNabb will get the points)
  7. In Philly, Bill Simmons is the King of Wing. 162 downed in 32 minutes to wrest the title from the Black Widow, Sonya Thomas. http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/sports/sp...ow/10816616.htm

  9. In the Philly vernacular, it's i-g-g-l-e-s, IGGLES!!!
  10. ...it's a roll of the dice. But T.O. wants to give it a go. http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/sports/fo...fl/10781628.htm
  11. That's quite a collection. Another # that should be put in mothballs: #84, in honor of the Frigster himself, LONNIE JOHNSON!
  12. ...it makes NO sense. What makes you think TH would be a #2 RB in Philly behind Westbrook in a similar scenario that played out with the Bills this past season? He has stated he wants an opportunity to be a #1 back with another club. He won't get that in Philly because Westbrook's the guy.
  13. The one thing that MUST be done: build the new Peace Bridge!
  14. ...SB Sunday is not one of my better days, and I can give you four reasons why that is so!
  15. ...this is an interesting conundrum as the Iggles prepare for their Feb. 6 date with NE in Jax. T.O.'s surgeon, Dr. Mark Myerson, will not give him authorized clearance to play, as he indicated the rehab time frame (8-10 weeks) is outside the realm of possibility. He believes T.O. could put his career at risk if he decides to play in advance of that timetable. Myerson is covering his * so as not to assume liability for further injury if T.O. gets hurt in Jax, and it is within his right--medically and morally, to do so. He says that accelerating the rehab poses the same risk of injury. The Iggles' trainer, Rick Burkholder, sees the picture differently. He notes that T.O. has rehabbed his ankle at a feverish pace and will see later in the week once T.O. tries to run and/or cut if he can indeed practice next week in Jax. There was talk in Philly that if Owens does play, he would be a "#3" receiver. Regardless, I'm inclined to agree with the surgeon on this one. T.O. would be taking a sizable risk, imho. Would he be hurting his team's chances by playing on an ankle that undoubtedly will be not close to 100 percent healthy. The Iggles need to prepare for NE with the mindset that T.O. will not compete. They've already turned one page by re-signing Jeff Thomason to replace injured TE Chad Lewis (that would be quite a story if guy two years out of football in construction industry scores a TD in the game). Your comments, please...
  16. Don't sell the Iggles short. That was the mistake NE made in underestimating Carolina last season, and the Panthers took them to the wire. I think it's going to be an intriguing and entertaining SB, no blowout.
  17. ...It's simple really. He works within a system in which the coaches (BB/Weis) give his offense the best chance to excel. And he goes out and does it. Only notable exceptions this season were the loss at Pit in October and the "brain fart" loss at Dieami in December. What I liked about the playcalling early on was the desire to go for the jugular--and those two vertical throws to Branch got the job done.
  18. ...book it. Crennel's going to Cleveland as soon as the big game is over. Otherwise, Brownies would already have named a HC.
