  1. From what I saw of ravens he was good last year and as importantly he looked engaged Yes he is older and not as physically capable but he's still got the complete repertoire of an NFL wideout. It's not a Davis situation where the guy's ability isn't commensurate to his spot on the depth chart...similar to Sanders who played a very useful WR3 role in the 2021 offense, a guy like Beckham Jr can definitely contribute in the right offense imo
  2. Because to admit that he'd probably walk in here as WR1 would mean maybe things aren't as buttoned up as people have convinced themselves they are Because Baltimore also has an AllPro TE and TWO first round picks at WR to spread the ball around
  3. And defensive tackles were 240
  4. I don't hate this guy at all tbh He's historically productive and entertaining to watch as any Great for the league
  5. Not sure about that But I will say during and after the Dorsey firing McDermott spoke a lot more about offense thani can previously remember
  6. I do actually think it was the plan all along I think it's a mistake, but I believe that Brady is going to execute the kind of offense McDermott wants
  7. which is to say its as safe as can be imo allen's 10x more likely to ask for a trade than ask for new coaches/FO
  8. agree on fast enough, there are a lot of different ways to win your route than just pure fast. understanding leverage and body control vs nfl dbs is at least as important as straightline speed hoping this kid can pick it up quickly...get adam henry in his ear as much as possible and maybe we found mike evans comp
  9. i think they were managing his minutes in the regular season tbh chiefs play above the rim rn
  10. that doesn't really make me feel better considering last season they were counting on Sherfield and Harty i mean at this point it honestly feels like we do this w the WR room every offseason
  11. the answer imo is that either the QB or the OC (HC if he's an offensive guy) defines the offense thus far Allen is and has been several orders of magnitude a better QB than whatever OC we've hired. that's why there's never been a consistent philosophy or team building strategy on offense...doesn't matter if it's Daboll/Dorsey/Brady, they add their own unique perspective but the focus is still on maximizing Allen's physical abilities because his talent is so overwhelming superior to their own.
  12. a fast 40 time i meant
  13. be grateful for that if he was fast we wouldn't have been able to draft him
  14. you think they've earned consecutive seasons out of the playoffs? in the AFCE w Allen at QB? that is generous
  15. i can give you the examples of why this isn't true, but my point was rhetorical anyway having more excellent players should be the goal. finding reasons as to why they may not be components of certain SB winning teams is missing the point imo
  16. The game plan and execution on offense vs KC in the playoffs was Brady's best work bar none. And realistically it could only have been done w a QB like Allen. I do believe that is the style this team wants to play at this point. Unfortunately as shown by the result even a perfectly executed ball control game script doesn't beat the Chiefs in the playoffs.
  17. Prior to this season the Bills, in Allen's entire tenure, had never drafted a WR before the fourth round. So to start I wouldn't have done that
  18. People have been talking about our lack of investment in wr for several years now The plan would have been a meaningful draft and FA strategy starting exactly when it became apparent Allen was the guy
  19. Tyreek Hill Jefferson Adams Lamb Evans Cooper Chase Brown Kupp Previously Hopkins and Julio Jones Guys w the tools to succeed above scheme or QB
  20. Welcome to the football messageboard since forever
  21. Loved what I saw out of Kincaid last yr but he's still a ways off from best TE of all time conversations When I say we need a legit #1 guy I mean I think the Bills need it, not that you generally can't win a SB without one. Imo this specific team w all their attributes benefits most from a wideout of that caliber
  22. I would count gronkowski and Kelce as functional equivalents The Bills only have 1/3 of your equation come playoff time...that balance has to be made up somewhere
  23. The wideout issue is team specific I believe great offensive scheme and coaching alleviates the need for the kind of guy OP is talking about Short of that you need elite receiving talent ie real #1 caliber receiver
  24. You don't need an elite QB to win a super bowl either but it helps
