  1. So not 'literally nothing' then 👍
  2. 'literally nothing'? They were winning their division and making the playoffs almost every year w Alex Smith
  3. I watch football for entertainment too, and I can't think of anything more entertaining from a football perspective than winning a SuperBowl. Thus, less patient.
  4. No to this I like Aiyuk but the standard has to be higher than 'better than Gabe Davis'
  5. This is correct imo and I think they need to go further tbh Just find a way out and roll w a bunch of rookies...it's not like we won't still be competitive for the division. This team needs a big reset
  6. Lol I just read this and we can safely drop this conversation 'just a tick below Aaron Donald and Chris Jones'😂😂
  7. i mean Wilkins and Williams are better, you can like Ed Oliver and still acknowledge that
  8. how is he a top player when there are at least two better DTs in our own division
  9. lol I mean if you think Ed Oliver is a top player than of course you love the contract
  10. I never said it's a bad contract, he'sjust not the kind of guy you need to pay market rate for. There's no value there.
  11. no agenda jump to conclusions much
  12. and knox and oliver and bass, etc etc i think we will have to suffer for a few years here tbh
  13. Blind allegiance is the sportsfan's birthright it's how we justify laughing at Mike McCarthy and Nick Siriani while convincing ourselves Sean McDermott is a top5 head coach
  14. This was the last year of the window wrt Allen's cap hit and we missed it, he jumps from $18.6M this past season to $47M next one add in not enough young talent and a lot of old/expensive or mediocre players on market rate deals...it's not difficult at all to say this particular window of opportunity is closed bills are going to need to get very lucky in the draft imo
  15. I don't think converting 4% fewer third down throws than Mahomes means you are not a good passer on third downs, looking around league at third down success% on career splits (🤙for that tip btw) I think he looks pretty good...I mean Brady is only at 42.9%, Rodgers around 44%, Stafford 42%
  16. You use it to determine performance as is the intention of most statistics. This particular one has very little to do w probabilities
  17. sorry I think I misunderstood what you were referencing then where did you get this data?
  18. No Don't know where you got those numbers but they're not close https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/A/AlleJo02.htm
  19. passer rating is a poor measurement for how good a QB is on third down imo, too heavily weighted toward completions that don't necessarily pick up a first down success% is what you are looking for
  20. It's calculated by taking the win probability of a particular down wrt historical averages (similar to EPA) vs the difference positive or negative of the play's result. It's not predictive nor is it meant to be as there are better metrics for that.
  21. lol Allen's playoff performances are some of the best of all time he averages more TDs and fewer INTs in the postseason than Mahomes
  22. I would have made a change already McDermott is already the 4th longest tenured HC in the league and out of the top 10 (certainly the top5) has the least to show for it
  23. i agree 100% Allen is (at current pace) unfortunately going to end up being the Allen Iverson of the NFL absolute unicorn in terms of offensive production but fated to be largely ignored by history because his style was too unorthodox and lack of championships
  24. I think it's more out of necessity than by design tbh like all things being equal I'm sure the Niners would like to have a great QB, they've just been making do w out like 90% of the rest of the league...the difference is they're still contending for championships. That's why I give them so much credit
  25. yup it doesn't tell you that if the QB play contributed negatively early on which is important context but really any way you slice it Allen reliably comes through in the big moments
