  1. Worst case from my perspective we go 1-5 against the division. While I don't think that will happen I feel that the jests are improved and Rex did a pretty fine coaching job last season (IMO). The pats* are the pats* until we prove it on the field. Fins still appear to have a ways to go and we'll likely fight it out with them for the bottom 2 spots. I'm hopeful that this is the year we turn it around, but, there are a lot of variables that must be counted on: EJ Schwartz Crossman WR as a group O-line (looks good on paper) LB (looks much better on paper) Punter? EJ must play a minimum of 13 games and he must show that he is ready for the NFL game week in/week out. Can Schwartz improve on last year's defensive performance? Stopping the run is a must. Can the front 4 put enough pressure on the QB thereby not hanging the LB's and DB's out to dry? Crossman (I don't think I need to explain this) The WR's appear talented. Can Watkins translate his game to the NFL? Can Williams bounce back and have a healthy/productive season? Can Woods improve on his rookie performance? Can the team use Goodwin effectively and can he stay relatively healthy? O-line appears to be drastically improved over 2013. They should be just fine. Will Kiko adapt to outside play? Will Spikes do what he's done in the past? Who's the other guy (Bradham? Williams? someone else?) and can they hold their own? Punter? All that said...I'd be very disappointed with 1-5 in the division. I think that 3-3 is very possible. If we can get one from the pats* things could turn out very good.
  2. He had one catch of more than 40 yards in 2013. I'm not sure if it was a screen, so, the maximum # is one, the minimum is zero. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/play-index/play_finder.cgi?request=1&match=summary_all&year_min=2012&year_max=2012&team_id=&opp_id=&game_type=R&playoff_round=&game_num_min=0&game_num_max=99&week_num_min=0&week_num_max=99&quarter=1&quarter=2&quarter=3&quarter=4&quarter=5&tr_gtlt=lt&minutes=15&seconds=00&down=0&down=1&down=2&down=3&down=4&ytg_gtlt=gt&yds_to_go=&yg_gtlt=gt&yards=&is_first_down=-1&fp_gtlt=gt&fp_tm_opp=team&fp_ydline=&type=PASS&type=RUSH&is_turnover=-1&is_scoring=-1&no_play=0&game_day_of_week=&game_location=&game_result=&margin_min=&margin_max=&order_by=yards&pass_target_id=SpilC.00
  3. Herschel Walker willing to respond to a Trump call as a player/coach.
  4. Read the thread title once you climb down from your soapbox. The post I replied to said that Spiller would be the focus of Belichick's defense. I don't think that's the case, but I would love to be able to find out. What part are you not understanding? Do I think that Belichick has made stopping the run the focus against recent Bills teams? Yes.
  5. Didn't think that this warranted a separate thread, so...July 3 Fox Sports will preview the Bills. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/2014-nfl-team-by-team-previews-index-063014
  6. I searched Adidas and didn't see this posted...Sammy's commercial. http://www.ballerstatus.com/2014/06/23/adidas-launches-springblade-drive-shoe/

  8. on diplomas My wife (Newhouse graduate) continues to walk around the house chuckling.
  9. Who does the defense key on when Peterson is in the backfield? (and he's in the backfield one heck of a lot more than CJ) Who does the defense key on when Megatron is on the field? Who does the defense key on when AJ Green is on the field? Who does the defense key on when McCoy is on the field? With a rookie QB and a below average O-line who did the defense key on when FJ was on the field? Spiller either can or can't get it done. To this point in his career he has not been able to sustain himself for a 16 game season. Until he does his potential is unrealized. My guess is Belichick has been more worried about Jackson than Spiller. FJ is the guy who is always there, always fighting forward. CJ is electric at times, but, at times he disappears. This would be a great ??? to get answered truthfully, too bad it'll never happen. Yes, we have the power. Surprised you didn't know this. And he's never been THE guy for 16 games either. Finally, I'll leave you with this...for CJ's NFL career to this point...at crunch time who would you rather have on the field, CJ or FJ? If you say CJ I have to question how much football you've watched. The #9 pick (not his fault) has not beaten out the UDFA. Father Time may finally be catching up to JF, but...so far I want Jackson in the backfield with the game on the line. He's simply been a more complete player.
  10. Hopefully Boyst or one of the other NC residents sees this and gives you some solid info. I've been in and out of the area on business over the years and it is very scenic and has decent BBQ. Beyond that I can't offer much.
  11. Glad she's OK John. Hopefully the other driver gets what's coming to them. One thing I'll add...don't be surprised if she's very timid behind the wheel for a bit. Be patient with her...my daughter still "hits the brakes" when I'm driving & her accident was a couple years back.

  14. They did slow things down, but was that by design or because they felt Manuel would better handle a 'normal' pace in his first season? Then of course, he was injured.
  15. He can not handle more than 15-18 touches/game on a consistent basis (IMO). That gives you about a dozen carries/game plus touches in the passing game. He's had enough time to show if he were able to handle a full load...unfortunately, he can't. Luckily we've got a crowded backfield so this shouldn't be an issue. (I think I'm being generous with 15-18 touches)
